Previously cron was linked to anybody's account and I tried to prevent race conditions by forcing a lock on a file before processing cron. This was good and all until something weird happened in 2008 and I decided to disable this and see if that fixed it, never to re-enable it.
This time around I decided to tie it directly into my own account. Thus, whenever I view any page on the forum, cron will check the timestamp and compare it to all the stored cronjobs, running those that are past due until they're up to date (up to around 43 cycles, I believe, since I didn't disable the server's timeout).
To make up for all the experience and shrines nobody's been getting, I ran the rewards file approximately 716 times, covering every day since it was last run on September 9 2008. I also changed the qualifying threshold to a week instead of a day, so if you logged in any time since last Wednesday you should have reaped the benefits.
Also amusing is that those of you with banked shrines got a windfall in the form of 1% interest compounded daily for 716 days. The richest among you have between 78-80k shrines. Makes you just wanna run out and get an MBA.
One problem that arose was the rewards file's level limit was skewed so a bunch of people found themselves on level 40. And something weird is going on with the online users indicator (but when isn't there?). Naturally, since I also ran some other stuff, including the system note purge, there might be some hilarious errors in the database now that I haven't noticed yet.

Regarding how we have 16 moderators: IIRC, at one point you decided to just promote a bunch of people to mod for kicks. That's why we have people with mod info like this:
