| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | After the ridiculous boondoggle with 1&1, I decided to switch hosts. A little bit of research led me to choose Siteground, which, in addition to being a little less expensive than 1&1, appears to be run by competent people. A whole new experience, that. Siteground also provides me with cron jobs, a very important feature that will allow me to get rid of my makeshift workaround for adding experience/karma/whatever. Since this is a new host and I just moved everything, there may be some errors due to differences in various settings. For example, get_browser() doesn't seem to work, which produces an error on TFN's homepage. Hopefully nothing too disastrous, though. I probably won't work on fixing anything for at least a week. Over all, you probably won't notice any difference except that the site won't go down every two weeks because of the database issue. |

I wonder the same thing myself! ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

I mean. Aren't most of the people who visit here mods nowadays? <_< Their level never changes unless it's manually done. Right. I forgot about certain people. CG isn't a mod, neither is Tengu. But they don't really post anymore. <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I can't remember, so I can't confirm that. Although, it wouldn't surprise (And would probably amuse me) me if you promoted her to modship just to spite me. <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | EVERYONE IS A MOD ... actually no that didn't work out so well. Karma has no point, but nothing on this website really has a point. On the other hand, cron can also be used to manage the poll queue and/or do anything else that needs to happen at a regular interval, which is quite handy.

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Are your two computers using the same network? Try clearing your laptop's cache and, if that doesn't work, the cookies for this website. Also, try going to the homepage (www.thefluxnet.com) instead of going directly to the boards and see if that makes a difference.
