Tbh, I've never been a fan of the series...
I've played 1, 3, 7 and 9.

The only game I played to completion was 9, and I actually enjoy it, but only because it's much different from the series.
Otherwise, I can't get into the series :/

Oh, and Dragon Warrior 4. Saving the princesses is hilarious.

Meh. The series never really appealed to me.

Really, the thing that bugs me the most about the series, is that you never see your characters in battle. It stays on the same screen. You don't see them attack.

It's silly I know, but I like SEEING my characters attack.

I played one for the GBA, but I honestly haven't played enough of it, or any of them to pick a favorite, but I have played one...

There is no option for me. The hell do I do now?

Back when i was a kid, i played every Dragon Quest game i could rent. They were all awesome.

DW4 was my favourite, but the Curse of the King was very awesome too. I liked the secret quest in that one.

I tried pretty much every available Dragon Quest, never really got into them because I hate the battle screen. (That and the general difficulty is a turn off >_>)

The monster art and difficulty were awesome i find. sure, it sucks getting some fights where this one monster can kick your ass in occassion at random, but the game made random encounters not all breezes!

I don't mind difficulty, but some of the fights in DQ games are brutal. If DQ9 is anything like the rest of the series... Yeah.

My first time fighting each of the bosses usually resulted in a wipe. Some of them (Such as Tyrantula) required multiple tries.

Dragon Warrior III for GBC is the only one I played and is one of my favorite games ever despite the fact that I haven't really played too many games and also I barely remember it. SS has a lot of elements shamelessly stolen from DWIII.
