The question is though, what would a "Fairy" type be strong against, and weak to?
I'm guessing it might be strong against Dark type, and Ghosts. Weak to insects and Psychic?
Edit: Does Dark even have a "Main" type it's weak against?
I mean in the context of Fire obviously > Ice. Water > Fire. Fire > Grass. And so on.

If these hypothetical fairies are weak to Bug types then I'm sorry what? But ultimately once you get past firmly-established relationships between canonical elements/types you just end up doing whatever. Fairies being strong against Dark types and Ghost types makes sense if we assume these are good fairies and not, say, Puck. I can't think of a type they'd be weak against except... Dark and Ghost types, because maybe they are Puck. Give in to the Dark Side, Sylveon, and turn into an Umbreon instead please. Maybe they're like Dragon types and they have a bad case of autoimmune disease.
Alternatively, they could just be introducing multiple new types.
