I never played the first Okami, but maybe someone here cares about this? It's not impossible.

I'm mainly just posting it because whenever a series goes to the DS, I feel a sort of needlessly vindictive glee at the expense of people who bash handhelds. >_>

Okay, here's my perspective.

If Clover makes this sequel, rather than a different company, I am happy. If the graphics are still beautiful like the PS2 version's, I am happy. If neither of these are true, I'm skeptical.

That said, Okami for the PS2 is one of my all-time favorite games, so I hope this sequel does justice. I'll be getting it release day either way, most likely.

GameFAQs says it's made by Clover, Board 8 and the actual Okamiden message board are saying it isn't. Dunno what to make of that.

The graphics look pretty good from that blurry little image though, so there is that.

Yes, Capcom shut Clover down. Some employees stayed (in which at the time, Inafune put them to work on RE5), and many left to form PlatinumGames.
