| Level: 43 Editor | This is way too soon IMO. Even if we don't count BW2 because it's occupying the weird region halfway between new game and third installment I still think this is the shortest time between mainline releases. That said the game looks fairly different so we'll see! Might not be a problem at all. --- "You're childish. What are you getting? Are you getting strawberry? Ha! That's such a childish flavor, only children eat strawberry." |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I'm picking the Fire Type. This is the first time since Gold/Silver I've been legitimately excited for a starter. I am going to wait to see its other forms before becoming excited; I was a big fan of Torchic right up until I discovered the existence of Blaziken. I'm also kind of interested in Froakie, who is so cuuuuuuuuuuute but probably turns into some hideous monstrosity, like Oshawott/Samurott. Stop doing that! I play Pokemon for the cute monsters, Nintendo! Don't make me press B! Also, is it just me or are the two legendaries kind of silly looking? Is that supposed to be a giant blue antelope? ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | The illustrations on that page are much more flattering than the trailer's depictions of the two, especially for Xerneas. Yveltal still looks kind of goofy, what with those fingers or... talons... or something on its tail. (Or is that its third arm?) Since they started doing unique legendaries for each of the first two versions of a generation, we've had a giant dinosaur, a giant orca whale thing, and four different kinds of not-quite-dragons. Now we get an eagle and a stag. Quite the departure. If this was supposed to be based on Norse mythology, why didn't they choose more nordic-sounding names? ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Well... (1) Safe search exists, especially for households with kids. (2) Once these games are actually released, those search results will look much different.

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Sylveon We don't know what type it is, but sylvan has to do with forests/the wilderness, so maybe it's... wilderness-type. This argument is clearly supported by the fact that it has a bow-tie physically grafted to its chest and overall shares its aesthetic with an overly made-up dogshow poodle. On the other hand, it's also kind of unsettling and, in some depictions, straight-up creepy, so maybe it's a ghost type! These suggestions are both equally plausible. I don't dislike it, but it leaves a lot to be desired in comparison to previous Eeveelutions.

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Shit. I didn't even realize that was an Eeveelution. ... That sounds like it might be a type of plant... But... Why would they need ANOTHER plant? ...Maybe it's a type of bird/flying? Aren't the only missing Eeveelutions Flying, Steel, Rock and Fighting? Edit: I forgot. The Eeveelution line is also missing Bug, Ground, Ghost, Poison and Dragon. Maybe it's going to be a Bug type? <-> "What the fuck is Alice doing in Wonderland anyway? | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | So far all the Eeeveelutions have had types that were easily recoverable from their appearance. This one doesn't look like anything. On the other hand, if they were introducing a new type, then what better vehicle than a new Eeeveelution? Also, that type is probably "Eminent Punchability".

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Good point. Hmmm... Maybe they're introducing some sort of fairy or spirit type? Or, maybe it's an improved Normal type? It does kinda look like Togepi/Togetic Checked out the wiki... http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Sylveon Looks like it's going to appear in an anime. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/PK25 Guess we won't know until July 25th. <-> "What the fuck is Alice doing in Wonderland anyway? | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I'm betting on Cute, a type that retroactively applies to the Togepi line as well as, I don't know, Jigglypuff. Its weaknesses are fighting and water (because you will want to drown all of them) and it's super effective against little girls' parents' wallets. Steel and dark types are immune to it because they have no souls.

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I mean... The fucking thing doesn't even LOOK an Eon. It looks like a completely unrelated and brand new Pokemon. If you go back and look at the other Eons, they at least resemble each other. This thing looks more like Glameow or some shit. <-> "What the fuck is Alice doing in Wonderland anyway? | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Its ears aren't pointy enough! Burn the witch! But yeah, this looks like some kind of cat rather than an Eeveelution. For one thing, as I said above, all the previous Eeeveelutions were easily identifiable by their types: Vaporean was a fish thing, Flareon was on fire, Jolteon had THUNDER SPIKES, Umbreon was black, Espeon was purple(ish), Glaceon had sharp edges and was various flavors of light blue, and Leafeon had plants for appendages. Not to mention all their names obviously referenced their types. Sylveon? The fuck is going on with Sylveon? If we go by the non-English names we get references to nymphs that were probably determined too explicit for American audiences/total morons. This suggests a fairy typing that... still isn't really recoverable from its appearance.
