| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | This thing is pretty fucking awesome. The touchscreen (Which I've never been a fan of before) is pretty good. And I love the menu system. ......yeah that's all I can say about it so far, as the only game I got with it is LEGO Batman, which is kinda "Meh". ...I also got a Call of Duty game because Mom couldn't find any of the games I wanted. But noooo thanks. I don't play Call of Duty anymore, so I asked her to return it. .,..The Youtube app on it, surprisingly, is way fucking better than the website itself. <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I will end up one day with a Vita just to play Persona 4 Golden. it was inevitable the moment they started adding content *shakes fist* Thankfully, there are other games on Vita that I'm interested in, but really it's been inevitable for a long time now! --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | The only issue with the Youtube app is that it suffers from the same issues as other mobile Youtube apps... they're unable to get content that isn't flagged as available for mobile. So most things with copyrighted music won't show up in the results if they're put up how they're supposed to be. That said, it isn't the app's fault that's just how mobile Youtube is. >_> +++ "Enough is enough! | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I haven't had any problems with it so far, which is nice. I'm seriously considering dropping using the youtube website on my PC and just using the Vita YouTube app because that thing is smooth as silk. <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I'm looking through the PSN at games browsing the RPG section, some of these sound good, but I've never played or even heard of some of them. Disgea I've heard of it, but I don't know what it's like. There's 4 of them 2: Dark Hero Dayts Infinite Afternoon of Darkness 3: Absense of Detention Any particularly suggested version? Also, I'm a bit confused. I've been recommended Persona 4 (By scorp), but on the store, there are 2 "types" on the store... Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 And then there are Persona 2: Eternal Punishment Persona 4: Golden Are the latter 2 Shin Megami Tensei games or are the 2 series' different? I'm confused. What about the Ys series? Threads of Fate? Valhalla Knights? <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Persona is the first game in the series. It's worth a play, but I know it can be frustrating as all fuck for people because it's an older game and has a lot of mechanics that were made so much easier to deal with in the sequels. I still recommend it for the story. Persona 2 Innocent Sin originally never got a US release before the remake for PSP and I can DEFINITELY recommend picking it up because it's a really great game. Persona 2 Eternal Punishment is the Persona 2 that we got in the US originally. Which is funny because it is basically Persona 2.5 since it has a MAJOR story tie-in with IS that you don't fully understand without having played IS. It's still possible, but you miss out on nuances. Persona 3 is the third game in the series number wise and four overall. Persona 4 Golden is the more complete version of PS4 that the Vita got. +++ "Enough is enough! | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | First game bought: Monster Hunter... something... something. Eitherway, Monster Hunter game. | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | The Ys games are pretty good. At least Oath in Felghana and Seven are, those are the ones I've played. But, #1 RPG priority should be The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, tbqh. Unless you want to wait a bit longer because it's getting re-released on Steam soon. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Trails in the Sky is a little hard to explain. Battles take place on a grid (think FFT, I guess?) and you have attacks, magic, and "crafts" which are like personalized skills. You also see the turn order displayed like in FFX with bonuses on certain "turn slots" and you see where you'll end up after every attack and you can interrupt the normal order if you want to grab such a bonus slot (or deny it to the enemy.) The Stat/Skill/Magic system is customizable too. I suck at explaining this, but I liked it. The primary draw for me though is the strength of the characters and the story. Among the best I've encountered. It starts off a bit slow, but becomes amazing, and I'm more hyped for the sequel (comes out in Summer or maybe Fall) than I have been for any game ever. As for some of the others: Ys is an action RPG. In Oath you're solo and you just beat the **** out of everything. No separate battle screens you just wreck everything you encounter. Seven gives you a party, but is still an action RPG. Disgaea is a strategy RPG but again describing it is a bit hard. On the surface it might look like, say, FFT, but it isn't. There's a ton of little quirks and the main draw for a lot of people is how crazy the post-game is. Level cap is like 9999 and you need it for some post-game stuff, even though the main plot can be cleared at like 80-100. The story/characters are also basically a parody of the genre, particularly in 1. 2 plays things a bit more straight. I haven't played the others. D2: Dark Hero Days is almost certainly the best version of D2 though. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 43 Editor | One of the Disgaeas (Infinite I think) is also nothing like the others and is, in fact, for some reason, a visual novel. I haven't heard particularly great things about it. Part of me suspects that's because Disgaea's characters probably can't carry a story-based game whatsoever. Disgaea 1 is pretty legit though. On the SRPG axis it's way, way, waaay further along the RPG side than the strategy side, but it's still fun. I think Afternoon of Darkness is first game with extra stuff, so that's the version you probably want if you want it at all. --- "You're childish. What are you getting? Are you getting strawberry? | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | ...So, they're all in the Shin Megami Tensei series? Yes. Persona started as like a spinoff of sorts due to it's change in how the game is played from the others, but now it's just an overarching thing and sometimes SMT isn't referred to in the title anymore. But it still is. +++ "Enough is enough! I have had it with these monkey-fighting snakes on this Monday-to-Friday plane!" - TV Edited Snakes on a Plane |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I'd have to recommend from my personal opinion to get Innocent Sin first to see if you enjoy the series. After that I'd pick up EP later and go from there, but at the same time 4 is really good too. >_> +++ "Enough is enough! | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Alright, I got Persona 4 <_< I was considering getting MGS HD Collection, but tbh fuck that. It only has MGS2 and 3. Why the hell wouldn't it include the first game as well? <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | The reason for that is simple. Nintendo had the real "HD remake" of the first game on the Gamecube so Sony isn't able to use it likely due to licensing issues without making the entire game over again (which David Hayter took a paycut in the process of the first time just to get the entire VA cast back to do their lines over, so it's very unlikely that will happen again unless they're allowed to reuse that VA session). >_> Even the Legacy collection for PS3 just gave you vouchers to download MGS1 and VR Missions from PSN so it was just the PS1 version. +++ "Enough is enough! | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | So after some extended use with the Vita... - I love the touchscreen. It's way better than the DS's. - The system is actually sort of uncomfortable to hold. I ordered a grip to hopefully solve that issue, but it won't be here for at least 2 weeks (Fucking postal service) - The placement for the speakers is annoying. - The ability to digital download almost any PSP game is great, likewise so is the ability to download any Vita game. <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 37 Advanced | So after some extended use with the Vita... - I love the touchscreen. It's way better than the DS's. To be fair to this point, the [3]DS' touchscreen (and Wii U's by extension) is resistive, meaning it requires the use of a stylus (or at least the thumb pad that shipped with DS units in 2004), where as the Vita's is capacitive like cell phones, and responds to inputs from the small bit of electricity given off from our bodies (hence they only work with using fingers, or specialized stylus designed for capacitive touch screens). I suppose it all come preference. It is significantly more convenient to use a capacitive touch screen, though resistive touch screens allow for more accurate input. Of course it's up to the developers how well touch controls are implemented anyhow. Just my two cents. --- SIEG ZEON, dood! |
