Also: Kansas City was ahead in a game for once! Briefly.

Herm Edwards is a man. Also, if Tebow is so terrible, why did he beat the Jets last year?

Also, if Tebow is so terrible, why did he beat the Jets last year?

So many reasons:

1. The Jets sucked
2. The Jets are starting Mark Sanchez, who is as bad if not worse than Tebow
3. The Jets suck
4. The Broncos defense does not suck
5. The Jets offense was (is) absolutely terrible

etc.

Anyway, Tampa Bay just climbed out of a hole to crush division rival Carolina's hopes and dreams to ashes, but you know, I just can't shake the feeling that Freeman isn't working out for this team. What the Bucs really need is Detroit's third string QB and receiver. Plus, now that Aqib Talib's gone, they could really use some help in the secondary: it'd be great if they could get Kyle Wilson off the Jets. And... Shea McClellan.

And Chris Petersen.

Make it happen, Tampa Bay!

Tebow playing at his best is better than Sanchez when he's playing bad, but I take Sanchez over Tebow with no question.

The rest of those points are/were accurate!

Anyway, today marks the beginning of the Jets' ~March to Mediocrity~

In which I am trolled by watching the McElroy Era delayed even more by the Jets wandering into "just not enough going wrong to cause a major change"

Take a look at this schedule:

Patriots (Thursday Night)
Cardinals
at Jaguars
at Titans
Chargers
at Bills

Oh yes, the march to mediocrity is possible. 8-8 is a plausible path. 9-7 wouldn't shock me overly so!

This is true, because Tebow is just horrific. But still. Sanchez. Oh God. This franchise needs a damn quarterback.

Patriots (Thursday Night)
Cardinals
at Jaguars
at Titans
Chargers
at Bills

My money's on:

LOSS
LOSS
GLORIOUS VICTORY
GLORIOUS VICTORY
GLORIOUS VICTORY
LOSS

This schedule is really easy, though. Though could easily win every game except the first one. The Bills and Cardinals are "struggling teams" - though the Jets have an autoerotic asphyxia fetish, so you never know.

In comparison, the Bucs will win maybe two more games this season - which is just as well, since I don't want to see them squandering a relatively high draft pick on the Josh Freeman Playoff Experience.

My high school debate coach is a Chargers fan. Last year his students pooled their funds to buy him a Cromartie jersey (at my suggestion). I think he wants to believe the Chargers stopped playing in 2009.

So I really dislike the Tampa Bay coach. Jumping on the offensive line during the kneel down at the end of the game is about as low as you can get in desperation.

Is the rest of the NFL prepared? Not a chance.

The Schiano Administration is not content with trolling only Bucs fans.

I've read people trying to defend this elite coaching maneuver, but let's face it, it just sucks. The only thing you might get out of it, as a defense, is an injury.

If only the DC could put this kind of creativity into stopping the pass. Wait. Wait.

Oh God!

Is the rest of the NFL prepared? Not a chance.

The San Diego game will be a battle of the game's most amazing quarterbacks.

No, San Diego, Tennessee, and Buffalo are all winnable games. Meanwhile, Cincinnati still has Pittsburgh and Baltimore, but Pittsburgh's schedule looks really easy and I'd be surprised if they didn't get the last wildcard.

The Jets are still in playoff contention because after the top five teams in the conference, the AFC is a dumpster fire. Andy Dalton's Bengals could make the playoffs.

As long as the Jets win next week, I think they're still alive no matter what the Steelers or Bengals do (or the Colts too I guess.) Though I haven't looked into it too hard.

It's Week 16 where I think it ends.

Chargers are the "hardest" game the Jets have, IMO if only because the Chargers in December are ridiculous and them winning out and thereby keeping Norv as coach is practically the expected outcome every season. >_>

Besides that, if the Steelers beat the Bengals in that same week, I think that might end it right there even with a Jets win. Steelers already have head-to-head over the Jets but if there can be a three-way tie between Jets/Steelers/Bengals I think the Jets can sneak in so long as the Bengals beat the Steelers. If the Steelers win that they have the head-to-head sweep and win anyway.

If we reach Week 17 and the Jets are still in this, I'll be really surprised. It's not impossible, but... it's pretty improbable IMO.

So, let's recap. Denver blew out the Ravens. The Steelers lost to the Cowboys, because lol, which means the Jets could tie it up with a win over poor, defenseless Tennessee tomorrow, and then all they need is to continue to win out while the Bengals and Steelers each drop a game. That's definitely possible! They could even make it in if the Colts drop their remaining games - but since that would include losing to the Chiefs, this scenario would only work if there's, like, an outbreak of plague in Indianapolis. Even if the Jets don't make it in, the Bengals can essentially knock off the Steelers with a win next week, and that just warms me up inside.

Meanwhile, the Bucs are now officially the Bucs again. Draft picks!

Damn... Denver's going to have shitty draft picks...

Also, it's been over two months since Denver last lost a game. And it was to New England... who the Broncos just leaped over for the number two seed in the playoffs... Two of the three losses have come on the road, so I guess that makes a difference.

The most plausible path for the Jets remains: Bengals > Steelers Week 16 followed by Ravens > Bengals Week 17.

However, yeah, they have a few paths out of this.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins are technically still alive somehow!
