I'm torn about the NFC Championship Game now.

I definitely prefer the Packers to the Bears, however, the Packers are the one team remaining that I fear. I don't think they're unbeatable, but I think they're unquestionably the best team left (excluding the Jets).

Of course, the Jets have to beat the Steelers for any of that to matter. Which I definitely think they can (and strictly speaking I worried more about the Colts and Patriots than I do the Steelers), but there's a difference between being able to win and actually winning.

The hierarchy of my preferences goes like this:

Jets >>>>>>>>>> Packers > Bears >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Steelers

So if the Jets lose to the Steelers, I'll root for the Packers, but if the Jets win out, I'm going to go with Jay Cutler.

Unfortunately the NFCCG is first so this doesn't really work out that well.

Ogor, we have new competition for "best part of the game": Bart Scott's postgame comments.

"LIKE WE AIN'T THE THIRD BEST DEFENSE IN THE LEAGUE!"

"THEY [The Patriots' Defense] CAN'T STOP A NOSEBLEED!"

I have to say I wasn't really too much of a fan of the pre-game trash talk (started getting way too excessive, IMO), but this right here? This is hilarious.

I think the best part of the interview was how the reporter suddenly pops up and grabs Scott out of his jet routine and Scott immediately jumps into "ESPECIALLY YOU, TOM JACKSON!"

Looks like the Bears decided to toy with the Packers and give them 3 quarters to do practically whatever they wanted.

But now? Now they've gotten serious.

They've put in their 3rd string QB.

And have finally scored.

The Bears tried to fool the Packers by putting in somebody other than Jay Cutler, but their genius plan backfired when the student became the master late in the fourth quarter.

Also, is it just me or did the Bears coaching staff fuck up big time with that completely bizarre timeout followed by an inexplicable reverse on the penultimate down?

Yeah, both of those were total wtf. No idea what they were thinking there (well, I'm assuming the timeout was because of the play clock because I can not comprehend any other alternative.)

Honestly, I would have kept passing, they were on a roll, and if they had to run, that was not the kind of run play I'd call.

I'm assuming the timeout was because of the play clock because I can not comprehend any other alternative.

They would have gotten the play off, though - I mean, the time out was called right before they snapped the ball anyway. I think there was some kind of miscommunication with the coaching staff, or one of the coaches wanted to run a particular play or something. It's also possible Lovie Smith just wanted to prevent Hanie from... I don't know, since it seemed they were looking to run the ball either way. Just bizarre, whatever that was.

I would have kept passing

I think that would have been the way to go, but running in that situation wouldn't have necessarily been bad either. They had been able to buy a few yards all game - well, albeit not with the play they ended up calling.

On the flip side, that last drive, like, doubled their total yardage, and they get the ball back at the half. Also, they're the Jets, so they only really start playing in the fourth quarter anyway.

In other news, fuck the Steelers.

I see the Jets took a page out of the Seattle GREAThawks playbook. Screw up the first half so badly that no matter what you do in the second half, it's not enough.

Except unlike the Seahawks, the Jets just killed the second half.

Time for Aaron GODgers and the Packers to save the season! They are our only hope.
