Prior to joining the NCAA as President for whatever reason, Mark Emmert was President of the UW, and boy did he do a bang-up job of that. He did so well, he decided to bail in the middle of the year when apparently the school's budget was being threatened by the state government (if his daily e-mails asking us to write to congress are to be believed). He then took that trademark can-do attitude to an organization famous for its inability to figure out what its own rules are, and from the looks of it, the sum total of his judgment on them is "I'll get back to you on that".

So of course, when the Justice Department wants an opinion on whether the BCS should exist, they ask: Mark Emmert. Who else?

Also, is it just me, or is that Bill Hancock quote solid gold? "Football? That's just a game. It's for the kids! Your tie is on fire."
