| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | That was just amazing. What a hilarious collapse. Honestly, I've wanted the Heat to win the entire season for the lolz (And I've always liked LeBron, even after The Decision), but I think I'm starting to find myself supporting the Mavs out of sheer respect and awe for what they (and especially Dirk) are doing. But oh man, that game. I actually missed the first part of the comeback because I walked away when OKC made it a 15 point game with 5 minutes left. Then watched the rest after the Mavs cut the lead to 8. (And then later rewound the DVR to watch the part I missed.) The Mavs could have won that in regulation because I'm fairly convinced Dirk was fouled on multiple shot attempts down the stretch but he made them anyway, but I almost think it was "better" (Read: More exciting) that it went to OT. Although, the optimal outcome would have been the Mavs winning in regulation on that inbound after the timeout from Kidd with 0.7 seconds left. I totally forgot the Mavs even had a timeout when Kidd called it, that's one of the more impressive "plays" I've seen, and it's so simple. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I've wanted the Heat to win the entire season I personally find the best part about LeBron is how he's never won a ring. I don't want that legacy ruined, man. On the flip side, you really have to admire Dirk and the rest of the Mavs for suddenly becoming this massive, seemingly-unbeatable juggernaut out of nowhere. I mean, they dropped a game to the Blazers. Twice. And here they are, completely and utterly destroying first the Lakers and now OKC. It's remarkable. I actually missed the first part of the comeback because I walked away when OKC made it a 15 point game with 5 minutes left I fell asleep right around the time Durant was putting on his imaginary belt and thus missed literally all the good parts. I should probably go back and watch it. >_> __ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | If you double post on a board where nobody's around to read it, does it count as double posting at all? The Mavs could have won that in regulation because I'm fairly convinced Dirk was fouled on multiple shot attempts down the stretch but he made them anyway, Unstoppable. Dirk Nowitzki is. There's no doubt fouls, traveling, and so on are either missed or just "randomly" not called, especially if they would be in favor of the away team. It's part of the drama. You have to keep the players guessing, you see. but I almost think it was "better" (Read: More exciting) that it went to OT I'm not sure about this. OKC scored, what, six points in OT and the latter half of the fourth quarter? Their offense was done. It was really just a question of whether the Dallas Machine was going to run out of steam, too, and obviously it didn't, because Dirk Nowitzki is powered entirely by the terror of his enemies. (He got 8 of 10 possessions for the Mavs in OT.) Realistically, the game was over in regulation. ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I should probably go back and watch it. You really only need to watch the game from about 5:30 left in the 4th Quarter for the maximum lolz, but you should definitely watch that part. Realistically, the game was over in regulation. Oh, it absolutely was over. There was almost no doubt in my mind that the Mavs were going to win when it went to OT. ...Perhaps I chose the wrong word. I find the Mavs just eviscerating the Thunder to be "exciting" but perhaps I should have chosen "entertaining" instead. Really, you could see the Thunder just become so demoralized, even back into regulation, they clearly had no idea what to do when they saw the Mavs coming back, and started just chucking up absolutely awful shots in desperation to stop it, and the Mavs would just come right back and destroy them on the other end with cold efficiency. It was just so much fun to watch. Not as much fun as Mavs v Lakers though, that was just a whole different level of amazing and entertaining. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |
