I'm actually going to have to want the Patriots to win a game, aren't I?

You know things have gotten bad when I have to rely on the Patriots to beat Tebow.

Fun Fact: This could be the first time since 2002 Week 17 where I will actually want the Patriots to win a game.

...I guess Tebow really can make miracles happen.

This all could have been avoided if anyone (except the Lions) could just beat Tebow. ...why can no one (except the Lions) do it?

Well, aside from the Jets, they haven't exactly been tearing through superior competition.

From the Jets perspective, I don't think it really matters what Denver's record is if it wins its division, so perhaps we can avoid the nuclear option of rooting for Satan in a football uniform.

I think the Patriots got their comeuppance the last couple of years, I'm not as hesitant to support.

You'd think so, but the Broncos winning the AFC West mean the Raiders join the "Battle to see who wants the last wild card spot least" party. ...And the Raiders also beat the Jets head-to-head and so also have the tiebreaker on them!

...Really the Jets just lose the tiebreaker to everyone in the AFC. I have no doubt that if the Colts were not mathematically eliminated they'd have the tiebreaker against the Jets too.

As a Jets fan they can never get enough comeuppance. They could go winless over a whole decade and I would not be satisfied! <_<

Yeah, they lose the tiebreaker to Tennessee, too. I personally think it's more likely that the Raiders and Titans start losing badly than the Broncos at this point. The Broncos have a superior defense! And Tim Tebow! But mostly just the defense.

Oh hey, Tampa Bay lost to Carolina by 19 points. Say, anyone have any extra rope they're not using?

Well that's what you get for being a Jets fan.

...I kind of find the Jets hate in general a bit amusing. And puzzling. Kind of.

Meanwhile in the NFC: Cowboys icing their own kicker XDXDXD.

No hate here, I was just talking about the soul crushing disappointment. You know, like supporting Chicago teams of the ursus variety.

Oh.

...Yes, the Jets are very good at delivering on that. Even the last two years which have been otherwise very successful for the Jets. Mainly by managing to lose the past two AFC Championships in mirror image fashion.

v Colts: Play well in the first half, choke away the second half (plus the very end of the first half).
v Steelers: Play miserably in the first half, dominate the second half but fall just short of making up for the abysmal first half.

...And then this season is looking to set itself up for some kind of disappointment, it's just a matter of which one now.
