| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | maybe it's because it's only my second year doing this but i feel like my bracket was destroyed on day 1 and that is just horrible. 10-6 (assuming Georgetown doesn't collapse, if they do lol 9-7) Lost 3 Sweet 16 Teams (Baylor, SF Austin, Iowa State) Lost 1 Elite 8 Team (Iowa State) on day 1 feels so bad Could have been worse though, NC State basically saved me from single digit wins somehow. I pretty much wrote that off when I saw LSU up double digits then saw they cut it to like 7 or something and watched to the end of that. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Slightly better day. 12-4 putting me at 22-10 for the round. Didn't lose any Sweet 16 teams at least. Lost Buffalo, St. John's, Davidson, and Providence. Also denied having a perfect region by Providence/Dayton (and also Baylor from yesterday) while Duke's region is a comedy where I only got Duke, Gonzaga, and Georgetown. argh --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | 4-4, and considering I came in with 3 automatic losses for the day that was about as well as I could have hoped! ...except originally i had NC State > Villanova but backed off because i was worried about NC State/LSU. so i compromised and took NC State > LSU and Villanova > NC State. why --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | 5-3 Lost my first Final Four team with Virginia. that whole region is still a comedy for me. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I was going to make a TFN bracket pool on ESPN, but then I forgot. Show of hands: who didn't see that coming? Anyone? (I guess I shouldn't expect any hands to go up in an empty room.) I'm less enthusiastic this year because Kentucky is so much better than everyone else, so they're probably going to win, and there's no clear alternative. The final game is worth enough points to basically auto-win any pool, so if you're competing with all the Kentucky people, your pool is going to be decided by whatever random garbage happens in the second and/or third rounds (even if Kentucky loses at some point), and if you don't choose Kentucky, who are you picking? Arizona/Wisconsin? Duke? Duke? Anyway, my bracket sucked. My final four is Iowa State Virginia Kentucky Future Alma Mater Arizona, which is great because I got blown out within hours of the tournament's start and MSU managed to make Virginia's day two years in a row just to make sure I was dead. (Villanova also lost, so my Elite 8 Virginia/Villanova matchup didn't work out too well.) TEAMS I STILL HAVE: Kentucky West Virginia Notre Dame Oklahoma Louisville Duke Gonzaga Wisconsin Arizona 9/16 is slightly better than .500, so I'll take it! Aside from the total screwjob that was the Dayton/BSU play-in game that I'm marginally very upset about, I'm also displeased that Utah is still alive. Utah is lame. However, I was rooting for Duke to obliterate SDSU (mission accomplished) and I don't think I can stomach rooting for them to win anything else, so... Go Utes! Basket those balls! | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | My Final Four is Kentucky Wisconsin Duke Virginia which is almost as boring as possible Teams I still have: Kentucky Notre Dame Wichita State Wisconsin UNC Arizona Oklahoma Duke Gonzaga --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | The 1-2 seeds were significantly better than the 3-16 seeds all year and the 3-14ish seeds are so homogeneous that a boring, chalky Final Four was clearly the way to go this year, barring a specific rooting interest, or a desire to roll the dice. ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Well, I had Notre Dame losing to Kansas, but I got the other three right! Unfortunately, there is literally nothing I can win on the other side of the bracket considering none of the teams I had as winners are still in the tournament: - Villanova over Louisville - Virginia over Oklahoma - Georgetown over Duke - Iowa State over Gonzaga That makes me 3/8 for the Elite 8. On the bright side, if Arizona somehow beats Wisconsin and Kentucky's bus driver correctly locates the site of their Elite 8 game, I'll have half the Final Four, and that's what really matters, right? ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Of course! I went 5-3, and I went into the round losing those 3 automatically, so really having 5/8 of the Elite Eight is as good as I could have hoped for. If Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Duke all win all of a sudden I have 3/4 Final Four and it's basically like I had a good bracket all along! >_> --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I have to stop and think about if I would have been better off picking all chalk. ...I think I would be. >_> and i have 3/4 final four right. albeit the 1 seeds soooo... >_> I have Kentucky > Duke for the finals so we'll see how that goes I guess. (Depending on how far you take it, Villanova would have been the "chalk" pick for the finals over Duke being the #2 overall 1 seed, so if Duke wins I'm almost sure my bracket would turn out better, but...) --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Well, I got Kentucky, so yay! Chalk was the way to go this year (although Duke > Villanova seems like the right pick, since Duke is in a better conference and has better players and all that), and I picked Kentucky because of that, but you can gain a significant advantage in most pools by picking against the trend for the Final Four, so that's why my bracket is currently in flames. That, and UAB being a bunch of jerks. Also, if I'm going to be going to Arizona, I'm contractually obligated to put them in the Final Four every year, right? ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Damn. My first instinct was to take Wisconsin > Kentucky but I thought it was just wishful thinking (which got me in some trouble in the bracket last year) so I backed down on it so that I could have a win-win where either my bracket succeeded or what I wanted to see happened and keep myself from having a chance at being totally burned on both. Should have stuck with it. Oh well. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |
