| Level: 43 Editor | So, you might be wondering if you care about this but you probably don't but you MIGHT and if you do you're probably wondering, what happened? The short answer is: I fucked up, and am stupid. The long answer is: A while ago I got an idea for this very, very stupid article series. I was reading a review, making snarky comments to myself, and I thought, hey, if I wrote these snarky comments down, someone might read them! It's possible! So I did. And for a while, it was great. However, I had the extremely stuipid idea of trying to submit these to TFN during the short period on Friday night before I go to sleep, but after TFN's clock says it's Saturday. You might be surprised to learn that there's actually a lot of editing involved before I can submit these things. It takes longer than one might think. And it is extremely boring and I don't like it. Obviously, I started slipping. So I moved the date to "Saturday, without warning". Except then I started missing THAT deadline... How did I miss that despite the extra ~24 hours? Because I'm stupid, that's why. That's also why I don't just do the editing on, say, Thursday, and avoid this whole thing. (You'll note that I have failed to get this current one up on Saturday, too.) Anyway, what happened? I missed one. Stuff came up. I got one up the next week and made a joke at VGCats' expense because that's how I roll. What happened AFTER that? Stuff came up. Again. Only worse this time. I had one basically done, and ready to submit, when I made the mistake of checking the guy's profile. And wouldn't you know it, he had other reviews. And his most recent one? Was actually good. Fuck. I really shouldn't care, but I don't want to become "that guy" who makes fun of people if they're actually making a conscious effort to improve. "That guy" is a jerk. So I decided not to post it and ended up missing that week. This is why I really should be maintaining that buffer thing I mentioned. Alternatively, this is why I shouldn't check the other reviews of the people I choose to mock. What happened after THAT? Stuff came up. Family vacation stuff. Out of my control this time, at least. Except I could have, you know, maintained that buffer thing, but again: stupid. But here's one for today (technically for two days ago) so everything is good again forever! Problem solved. Edit: Hilariously, TFN actually restores GameFAQs-created gibberish back into the character it's supposed to be, simultaneously rendering my joke incomprehensible and making me look like an asshole. I could use my Editor powers to change this, but I'm leaving it in because it's funny. --- "There's a pony in the shop, but don't buy it. | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I almost skipped this one. Two and a half months this time! And then this asshole named K. K. Slider was like, "got a song request?" or some shit, and I was like, "whatever, man, I just want to go back to my house and play some more Clu Clu Land". wat ...Plus what? I'm having a bit of trouble characterizing that, myself. I'm thinking "too" was the intended meaning. The reviewer is clearly not a native English speaker, so (1) his/her native language has a false cognate for plus with this function; or (2) he/she learned what "plus" means incorrectly; or (3) he/she doesn't really know anything about "plus" except that it's supposed to be a synonym for "too", and here we see that expectation at work. There's a Hot Coffee mod but unfortunately it only works on Tom Nook. There's an image that's going to haunt me for the rest of my life. I looked up Tom Nook. This was a bad idea. Self-Evident Lad, at last I've found you! Quickly, to the Fortress of Unambiguity! Dr. Vague is up to no good once again and Captain Obvious needs your help! this made me to laugh I saw some jagged, N64 graphics in Smashville, They tried to take me along for a ride They had to make it up to me in gameplay, 'Cause I just can't seem to get them off my mind It's the twonky honk graphics Gimme, gimme, gimme the twonky honk reviews wat Maybe because you never got past the tutorial. this made me to laugh Alternatively, this is why I shouldn't check the other reviews of the people I choose to mock. This is true. There's also the option of adding a disclaimer to the review saying that reviewer is actually not so incompetent (anymore). Probably after the mocking. I could use my Editor powers to change this, but I'm leaving it in because it's funny. I think this way is funnier than the joke itself would have been, though it was only amusing to me once I realized what had happened. Prior to that I was merely confused. ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

| Level: 43 Editor | wat Yeah I don't even know. wat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FJYyA4jRdM This is true. There's also the option of adding a disclaimer to the review saying that reviewer is actually not so incompetent (anymore). Probably after the mocking. This is definitely an idea I wish I had considered. --- "There's a pony in the shop, but don't buy it. It might do something unfortunate to you." ~from the first Summoner's Seal topic |
