I split this subject in two because I have midterms this week so I don't imagine I'm going to be in the mood to write very much and also I don't feel like coming up with anything else to write about, especially since I have another math midterm Wednesday and failing those usually makes me less than chipper. Anyway, if it hadn't been for my birthday Friday I would have finished the whole thing this weekend, in which case I probably wouldn't have written anything for this week.

This caps off a five-article stretch in October due to some unfortunate dates. There are some, uh, interesting statistics associated. Apparently I've written 13,753 words this month, including some quotes from other sources, which comes out to about 27 pages single-spaced (~53 double-spaced). Part of me is horrified, while the other part of me is even more horrified.

Another number that may be of interest: those 13,753 words were good for 70 shrines total.

Seeing the title, I expected commentary on the NFL's replay system, but the BCS is just as, if not more, entertaining!

The NFL probably uses replays as well as any professional sport is ever going to. Soccer, on the other hand...

Maybe if you played sports you wouldn't be so fat, Kodan.

How many should they have been worth? I thought 0 to 1 EXP and 10 to 15 shrines was the norm. <_<

It is the norm, but who knows? Indexing to word count seems pretty sketch, and quality is hard to judge when the baseline is "awful" and the ideal is "almost as awful". Still, that's more than a Master's Thesis worth of writing and you can pick up 70 shrines in 35 days by sitting around picking your nose and/or posting on the DSB.

On the other hand, I already have several thousand shrines and I obviously don't care since, you know, I pay money to keep this place online. Maybe you should give more shrines to people who contribute admirably inversely proportionate to how many shrines they already have. So if they have like 100, give them 50. If they have 500, give them 30. If they have 1000, they have all the shrines they need and 10-20 is fine. Of course, people can get around this by spending all their shrines, so count items they have too. Also, I just made up these numbers for demonstration purposes; you give whatever you want to give.

It's all moot anyway since you and I are the only contributors for the past year.
