Here's something I forgot to post, but that I found interesting back when Winter Kraken would spam Divert like mad with it's two turns. >_>

Winter Kraken redirected 4 spells!
Winter Kraken cast Divert, but it did nothing!

Vivi Ornitier attacked Vivi Ornitier, dealing 3 points of damage.
Quistis Trepe attacked Vivi Ornitier, dealing 13 points of damage.
Kain Highwind attacked Vivi Ornitier, dealing 63 points of damage.
Vivi Ornitier was killed!
Lynx attacked Vivi Ornitier, dealing 413 points of damage.
Vivi Ornitier was killed!

The Winter Krakens caused the little guy to get picked on and obliterated by his teammates. =(

Well, yes. Although, normally when that happens it just nullifies their turn and doesn't display anything. It's just on some rare occasions it still will.

Well let's face it, Ninja just don't have that many cool names, spy sounds like a second class, rogue sounds lower than Ninja, and Shinobi also sounds like a first class.

Jonin, and Hokage don't exactly qualify as cool names either in my opinion.

As for Sennin.. that could possibly work.

Except I don't like that name. Jonin rolls off my tongue; Sennin... has two consecutive n's, quite possibly the worst feature of Japanese phonology, right after their lame f's and their single-tone pitch accent.

In that case: the standard query + while loop (query array) method of accessing information from a database in PHP/MySQL stores the actual information in that array, not a reference to the information, which means that you can't update the information and expect that to be reflected in the while loop (i.e., you can't remove rows). As a result, if a character dies, I have to formulate some method for skipping their action without modifying the table, or otherwise it would be ignored. The method I used is a check for HP over a certain number, but I've added a second criteria, and that might be interfering with the first. This version of PHP, like the last, apparently can't handle a condition like (x or y) > 4.

Or it could be something else.

I guess things like Shadowalker would really be the only choice.

Personally I like Sennin more, I find that it rolls off my tongue easier as well. But it's your game and just a name, so I'm not going to push the issue.

Actually, it might be something else. Because sometimes it does detect the death and makes them take no action and sometimes it doesn't.

Neither do I; however, I could make it a carbon copy of Jonin, only under the heading of a special class, which has quite a few benefits. It also means you could elect to not be a Jonin... but still be a Jonin!

Honestly, I probably would replace Jonin, as you all seem to hate it, if it wouldn't take so much effort. This is a far easier solution and it holds benefits for everyone! Although I personally still prefer Jonin.

Don't forget Blue Mage and Dragon Knight. <_<
