Was this Rage or something similar?
Now, I did hardly any damage to Ekolit, but its HP was very low when I fled. Does it just have low HP and crazy defensive stats, or were the birds it was spawning causing it significant damage?
The birds are unrelated. It (a) has low HP and (b) exerts itself on a regular basis, although the exertions aren't that large. I can't give exact numbers because it's created as a boss and consequently they're variable.

It knows both basic attacks and Empyreal Cuspidated Bulwark. My guess is it was ECB, as that has a better formula IIRC.

Ekolit actually seems far far more fair to me, even if I can't really damage it, because it doesn't just wipe me out in two turns by seemingly bypassing any defense I have. >_>

And too complicated to be worth it!
Divert has been fixed. The spell was working correctly; it's just that it was using the name of the selected target instead of the name of the actor whose spell was redirected.
Still clueless about the action order problem.
The experience formula has been changed to have the multiplier = 1 until I figure out how this should all work.

Sorlit knows:
Skewer: ATK - .75 * DEF (or 1.1 * DEF if the character is defending) plus 10.
Smash: Regular attack if the target is defending, crazy otherwise.
Berserk: Slightly worse than Smash.
Rage: Lots of basic attacks, like Skewer.
Stamp Down: .1 * DEF.
So yeah, Sorlit doesn't give a shit about your DEF.

I noticed this after I bought that Super Special Awesome Shield of Incredible Amazing Wonderfulness that cost 8000 gold and gave +30 DEF and +30 MDEF and Sorlit just killed my Horseman/Cleric immediately anyway. <_<

xp has just brought it to my attention that Assassins have inherited all the Shinobi equipment, because Shinobi used to be called Assassins.
Now, I don't recommend fixing this immediately because xp's characters are already horribly screwed equipment-wise, but at some point... >_>

Honestly, the equipment for all my classes (counting all tiers) outside like Weaver is so laughably non-existent that keeping it that way as a kind-of-subtle nerf by giving my Third Tier Class Second Tier Equipment is hilarious.
I mean, it seems a great deal of it is my fault given the classes I took, but the majority of my equipment is the generic no class stuff I think. >_>

In keeping with the hilarity, the Magus is the one character of mine who has halfway decent equipment anyway. >_>
I don't really mind too much though so long as I stay away from Sorlit and Ekolit... and talking to Kenri and seeing that he has DEF and MDEF stats that sometimes more than double mine when I am putting a decent amount of attention into them and he says he's largely ignored them. >_>
Otherwise waiting for equipment to start coming in for the classes I have doesn't bother me.
