1. Do you anticipate a character reset some time in the future?
If yes, then 2 and 3 are irrelevant.
If no...
2. I'm trying to set up a team way in advance and ran into some class questions.
A Melee/[Offensive, and if "element" matters, then "dark," but I'm not overly concerned with that level of specifics, though it'd be convenient if it worked out that way] Magic Hybrid? Scanning the list, Arcane Colossus and Arcane Knight seem like the closest fits, but maybe I'm way off on that. If I'm not, hints [or you can just say] on the class progression needed for whatever one fits.
Same deal for Thief and Magus. My guess is that Ninja is one of the required classes for Thief, but I'm not entirely sure on the other. As for Magus, my guess would be that it's the pure class for Weaver, but again, not sure.
3. Out of whatever class you think best fits that hypothetical hybrid class and Magus, does either have healing? Because if not, I'm probably going to have to think of something else (I'm assuming Assassin and Thief don't have healing, at least)

No. If it weren't for the changes to the class/experience/level system I wouldn't have done one this time, either.

Anything in Tier X works. Arcane Knight also works, although the Colossus is better (Initiate Weaver and Initiate Soldier, respectively, if I'm not mistaken). Seven Tier X classes require Weavers; a few others require Initiates and Spellbinders, followed by random dudes. I'd go with Sage (Weaver pure class).

All Tier I classes will get a generic healing spell, so Magus fits the bill unless you want hardcore healing.

Oh, I don't know then. Douse should be doing more damage. It still has 13 ATK/DEF.
The max ATK a level 1 can have with the Toy Sword is 13. So, if they had 13 DEF the whole time, how was I hitting them for 3s before and now I hit for 0s? They must have had 10 DEF or something at some point.

ATK damage is calculated ATK - .75 * DEF plus some random crap with sines and so on that shouldn't influence small numbers.

As for Magus, pfft, Gandalf can do everything, we've hardly eliminated anything! Uh... Weaver + ...I'm going to say Cleric to explain where the healing spell came from.
Also, um, I'm not sure I'm looking for hardcore healing, so long as its passable. I'm aware of, and don't mind that this would be a suboptimal setup from an overall point of view, but I get the feeling that a total lack of healing would be... bad.

No, I was referring to the Gandalf at Minas Tirith, when he takes command of the City's force during the siege and the Battle of the Pelennor Fields etc.

But then if you factor in the Battle with the Witch-King you could make a case for like, Soldier maybe.
And cases exists for like every other class if you think about it, though admittedly perhaps not if we constrain things to Minas Tirith. >_>

In the movie, he gets owned on his way to yell at Denethor. In the book, he confronts the WK at the gate to the City. Both times the meeting is cut short.
