Well, the world has several gods - the Emissaries (the god who made the Emissaries in the first place simply doesn't give a damn) - and those who retained the power of gods are gone. The reasons for this involve the original draft of the events surrounding the creation of the world, which I attempted to make a book out of, but failed on account of the fact that I suck.
At any rate, at this point in time, the angels aren't affiliated with divinity in any way. They're just a normal, although uncommon, race.

However.. writing back-stories for characters seems like another decent enough time waster. When/If I decide to actually write mine, I think I'll post a topic for them and see if anyone else actually writes any since it could be somewhat interesting. >_>

Evicor (Tibia, he's mentioned as a god that the Elves pray to in combat to guide their arrows.)
Tellah (FFIV. He's back to take revenge on Spoony Bards everywhere.)
Kain Highwind (FFIV. My favorite Dragoon out of all the ones in any Final Fantasy game. He's that bad ass. Cid from FFVII doesn't count in this running as despite being a throw back, his in-game role is not a Dragoon. He's an engineer.)
Vivi Ornitier (FFIX. He's the poor little Black Mage who finds out he's not like all the other people.)
Quistis Trepe (FFVIII. Best. Instructor. Ever. Blonde hair, long legs and a whip.. extremely hot in her SeeD uniform.. Oh, what was I talking about again?)
