But then you lose access to Rage, which is extremely helpful for a Paladin in many situations, and can outdo the damage of Smash easily on what it's good for. I.E. The Whale. And Scapegoat.. well.. I'll give you that Rage can do more against targets with no visible defense and that Berserk is almost as good as ~~Berserk~~ Smash (lol i lose), but Smash is a constant source of damage to any target, no matter what sort of ridiculous defense they have. Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major	Paladins will eventually maybe get a spell (Crash) that is Smash + Bash together. Soldier is useless in that case. <_< It's safer to go Warrior/Weaver (Or Cleric, if you really want to.) Soldier is just not useful when/if Crash is added. Then there's also the fact 90% of creatures use spells and not physical attacks. So Scapegoat fails even harder.
