How about giving everyone who played v.<3 or lower a stat point reset item (one character per use, four uses total)?

Wait so.

Wait.

Wait.

How does this work with the reset? Doesn't it sorta negate the point of a reset entirely? >_>

No, the reset, assuming I do one, would occur because of changes in the stat point and/or stat system, which means all your stat points will be removed and your character will be reset to level 1/deleted. A stat point reset item would let you reallocate all of a character's stat points.

Oh, so you're suggesting this instead of a reset?

...But then why even do it at all? >_>;

Not everyone qualifies first of all, and really it's meant for people like you. Do you really want to grind to 800+ again?

How about we not pretend that anyone else put any work into their characters while the guy with multiple level 800 characters is in earshot?

...wow, you're a fucking loser.

I only got to like level 250 and that's because the game glitched and I jumped from level 2 to 200 by accident. <_<

Oh, so you're suggesting this instead of a reset?

No, quite the opposite. If I reset, I'll give this out to everyone as compensation.

Do you really want to grind to 800 again?

I really don't think there'll even be an 800 .

But so...

Wait.

I don't get this at all.

If our stats were reset, wouldn't we not even have stat points to reallocate?

And if it kept track of the stat points, wouldn't letting us get them back not only negate the point of a reset, but also make the characters ungodly powerful?

It's an item, like an herb, that you can use at any point in the game. Your current, v.<3 stat points would obviously go the way of your stats/characters, so it would be reallocating x stat points you gained post-reset, where x is the number of stat points you gained from when you started v.3 up until the point where you decided to use the item. The item would have four uses so you could use it on four characters (or a few characters multiple times).

So, let me get this straight:

The item basically allows you to reallocate all the stats you had gained at that point in the future v3?

Or...

Does it actually almost like "double" your stats by allowing you to allocate x number of stats where x is the sum total of stats you had to that point in v3 (but where you keep the original stats in tact)?

(Half this post is actually me seeing if Daylight Savings Time messed up time on TFN for me. The main page clock is right, but I meant to check the post times)

(Yeah. The main page clock was right, but the post times were an hour behind. I change time zone settings so the post times are right, but now the main page clock is an hour ahead. Not that it bothers me or matters in the slightest, but just mentioning it.)

The main page clock was right, but the post times were an hour behind.

I think one of the two was manually adjusted for DST but I don't remember which one. I'm going to add this to the list in the first post so I don't forget.

This.

Suggestion!: Add a "Select All" button for quick PM cleaning.

That's two buttons, actually: select all visible (selects what's on the page) and select all (selects every PM).

Also I noticed LL's solution to the problem with Ajax'd quickpost and live messagelist updating was to make an overlay that goes over the messages instead of being integrated directly on the bottom of the page, where it messes up the scroll. This is intriguing, but as far as I can tell my solution, albeit complicated, is working. Thoughts?

Then just add a delete all button for the PMs to make it faster. >_> Eitherway, just a way to one click and select them all for deletion or one click to clean it. One of the two.

As for the other question, your solution is fine.

So I've begun development work on SS. So far I've been planning out what I think I will have time to accomplish, and it looks like I'm going to be focusing less on features (although I will try to update the interface a little) and more on making SS an actual game. I may not reach the goals I've currently set over the summer (in fact I probably won't), in which case I might have to scale back.

Either way, I've decided to prioritize this over Scum because at least I have an idea of what I'm doing with SS.

I figure it's time for an update since I've actually done some stuff. I still don't know if I'm on target for finishing SS by the end of summer, but at the very least I project I will have begun adding significant amount of content to the system by then. So far I've finished working out the class system and have written a "new" AI - just like the old one, but slower!

In the next few days I'll close SS until the end of the year so I can start putting things together.

So...

My designs have been thwarted by a combination of SS's original code being far worse than I imagined (I had to rewrite a substantial portion of it) and various other things. So at this point I will be impressed if I manage to get v.3.0 out by the end of the year with more than half of my initial intended goals for it completed (because whatever's done by then is going up regardless of how middling it is). The rest of the site update will be delayed further.

On the flip side, I think I may be able to get Scum to work.
