Sure, I'd like to keep a track record of how many modded messages I can get by just being myself...my internet self anyway.

As in: you can leave index.php open and it'll keep checking to see if you have a PM or system notification, without a refresh on your part.

Not necessary, and PMs aren't sent often enough for it to be useful.

Necessary or unnecessary, it's not the hardest thing to do, and it might be useful sometime down the line. I was probably going to do it anyway, but I wanted to run it by you awesome people first. It seems for some reason my sudden unexplainable interest in improving the boards is making me spend more time here consulting everybody about random things that may or may not happen regardless of your sentiments. >_>

This would be done with Ajax, by the way, but it's not nearly as complicated as my experimentation with SS so it'll go very smoothly. The only foreseeable downside is that some users might not have Javascript enabled, but in that case it's possible to retain the original functionality. (And if I go on to apply it to other things, such as, say, topic lists, I'll have to add an option to turn it off.)

I think it's a good feature to have, and despite popular belief some people do use the PM system. So, sure, go for it. >_>

This feature has been implemented.

Additionally, view_pm.php periodically updates itself if you're using Firefox. This failed miserably on Opera and IE, so I've restricted it to the only browser I know it works on. >_> There'll be an option to turn this off in your preferences soon enough.

Hooray!

...Or not. It seems this feature has somehow made it so Quick Reply won't auto expand now. That or something else broke it.

I've noticed the problem with Quickreply, and I'm not quite sure what broke it. I'm looking into it.

EDIT: Fixed, apparently.
