| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | So I was calculating just how bad I'm failing real analysis today for the millionth time and I was thinking, gee, wouldn't it be easier if I could get a computer to do this for me? So I'm thinking I could make like a "portfolio" for every class with sections for each type of grade (the possibilities being homework, participation, paper, "misc." like feedback on group work, midterm, and final, since these seem to be exhaustive), with appropriate weighting set by you, and you could enter assignments into each relevant section and your grades (known or unknown) and then the magic of the Interwebs would calculate upper and lower bounds for you. I could also conceivably do something with means/sd's on tests though I'm not sure what. What do you all think? ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Can students make their own courses/gradebooks on Blackboard? All the UW uses is Catalyst Tools, which takes sucking to a whole new level.

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | No, but it takes care of most of the grades BS. Then again, usually profs don't enter the grades in, but that's a different story. Do it. I kinda want to see and organize my pathetic grades this semester. --- Alestra77: you seem to have glossed over the fact that you treat all women like prostitutes Alestra77: "k, so, I bought you coffee... when do I get my handjob?" | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | OK, I'll try to put something together in the near future, however of course it will be extremely bare-bones.

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Well I don't think I'm going to end up doing it in time for you to organize your pathetic grades, since when I said "near future" I obviously meant "never". =( ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |
