Well, you need to make sure you have some demonic-zombie-werewolf-nnja-pirate as the omnipotent villain.

Said villain will have a near unlimited source of Deus Ex Machina ability.

Also, sub-villains possess such DEM to varying extents, though usually restricted to being able to ressurect themselves numerous times, shrug off damage for no reason, etc.

Then, you have to remember that there are only two kinds of people the player characters (PCs) meet. Evil characters, and Injured Characters. With injured characters, they can be either good or evil, depending on preference.

Also, in addition to that, all characters the PCs interact with play huge parts in the plot/world stage, if you meet someone who seems to be your average citizen, he isn't. He's either a prince, demon, villain, sub-villain, or they possess some sacred/demonic relic needed by the villain(s).

There is also never enough world ending predicaments the PCs run into. If they haven't had to save the known universe at least twice a week, something is wrong, very wrong.

That's some of the things you would have needed to know for MBA.

Fixed.

Wasn't MBA one of those games where there were ONLY PC's? Like the games LegendaryBEWD and I collaborated on?

Anyway, if anybody cares anymore, I suppose I could take a crack at this. It'd be a nice way to practice Object-Oriented Programming, a.k.a. "OOP", or "Satan-worship".

Java next year: Hunt the Wumpus - a game where you walk in a "field" on a square matrix and search for the Wumpus, but if he smells you, you get eatten.

Well, yeah, in a sense everyone is PC, but when I say make a distinction between PC and NPC in MBA, I usually mean.

PC = The actual users, and the characters they directly control with their monsters.

NPC = Characters controlled by whoever is "admin" in an event or something. If they have a monster, they are typically broken, being stronger than the entire PC Team in most cases. Sometimes they are reoccuring over different events and plots, other times they just show up once to bail out/screw over the PC Team.

...Or something like that.

I'd actually divide it up more than that.

PC - Player character. The only constant one is CG7, everyone else got bored/banned at one point or another.

UNPC - Universal non-player character. The guy who sells items that never talks nor is described, for example.

APC - Admin player character. Tends to completely fluctuate in power to suit the event. Can never lose, ever, except against an enemy that was created specifically to cause the APC angst.

KNPC - Kenri's NPC. Generally follows the following guideline: Strong, sane, present. Pick two.

CNPC/CFB - Cross' NPC. Also "Completely Fucking Broken".

DNPC - Dragran's NPC. Doesn't die, ever, but is generally cool because they actually help us if they're good and use a yo-yo if they're evil.

CG7NPC - Completely unimportant fodder that is still more well-written than 90% of the other characters.

TNPC - Tadpole's NPC. Doesn't exist.

Monstercise itself?

Yeah, but that's misleading. The one Cross was running on TFN died out very quickly once it became apparent he was killing off PCs.

Then a few months later he restarted it, then after he made a boss battle unbeatable after we spent an hour or so looking for it on a dead board, and after about 4 hours of fighting it, we [or in Miz's words, the proletariat, which led to a great deal of hilarity that only we really got, along with Burg and Nikore] (Miz, Me, Kenri, CG7) - revolted and deposed him in favor of Kenri, and then Cross deviously got a counter-revolt and took it back, and that's the one we're on now, although Cross has essentially resigned, leaving leadership rather vague.

Officially, I think Dragran is in charge.

I phrased the circumstances of the revolt badly.

Here's what happened.

[1 Hour or so looking for it on dead boards on GameFAQs]
[3 or 4 Hours of fighting it, and we apparently have won, or are near it]
[Boss goes like SSJ34857439075^398]
[Everyone is pissed]
[2 Hours Later]
[lol revolt]

Well, tell them they can act out boss battles or whatever they want here, if they feel like it.

I could also make a "database" (really just a table or five in a database) so you can store all the information, if you wish.

Coding the thing would take a while, but would be... useless. :\

I actually started coding a game in C++, wherein the majority of monsters were some variant of the class "fish". It was called "fish world".

Here is what I still have:

#include
#include
#include

#define MAX(a, b) a>b a:b

using namespace std;

class Fish
{
private:
int speed;
string name;
int hitpoints;
int defense;
int attack;
int size;

protected:
Fish (int theSize);
int getDefense();
int& getHitPoints() {return hitpoints;}
int getAttack() {return attack;}
int getSize() {return size;}

public:
virtual int damage2(int TargetArmor) = 0
virual void defend(int damage) = 0
virtual string getName() {return name;}
int getSpeed() {return speed;}
bool isAlive() {return hitpoints >0}

};

Fish::Fish(int theSize) : size(theSize)
{

if (size < 1 || size > 4)
size = 3;
attack = 1 * size;
speed = 4 * size;
hitpoints = 3 * size;
defense = size;
srand(time(0));

}

class YoungFish : public Fish
{
private:
int finDamage;

public:
YoungFish(int theSize);
int attack(int target getArmor);
void defend(int damage);
string getName() {return

Though first, you'll need to learn a GUI C++ thinger.

Yeah, I never got into learning anything past namespaces. Well, learning it well. I don't really like application programming - alone, at least.

Too bad Java is lame; otherwise I might have some companeros after next year's AP Computer Science A. (They stopped teaching C++ because they're idiots.)
