| Level: 41 New Moderator | [Spoiler for Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, click to show]I began to explore upon entering. When going outside, Ruby basically told me I was a jerk for ignoring Gwyn, which caused me to laugh and go back in. Leo was asking Gwyn, a guy with pointed ears and a long, white beard (the ears make me think he's not Hiro's biological grandfather) how to get into the Blue Spire. Gwyn says he has no idea despite studying the place forever (he's basically an archeologist). So Leo's response is that to get in and take care of the Destroyer, who threatens the Goddess, they will... wait for it... BLOW UP THE ENTRANCE WITH DESTINY TO GET INSIDE. Somewhere out there, all of the other archeologists (all two of them) cried themselves to sleep. Leo asks Hiro to join the guards instead of poring over books and then leaves. I can't tell whether he wants to throw Hiro off a cliff or help him at times! Gwyn heads up and sees that, whoa man, a light is entering the Blue Spire. He decides we should go check it out (well, I could either select that or say to try and find the Destroyer, but I think the answer wouldn't have changed anything). I got an Ancient Dagger from the chest downstairs, which was oddly better than the Dagger Hiro had, so I equipped it. Examining the empty box resulted in Ruby basically calling Hiro a retard for staring at an empty chest, which made me laugh. Gwyn gave me a Left Opal Jewel (gee I wonder why) and joined my party. Level nine, acts like Jessica from Silver Star Story as a healer with a mace. I couldn't switch his equipment though, which made it clear he was only temporary. When we got to the Blue Spire, Gwyn put in the Left Opal Jewel on a dragon head statue, but it didn't open. So Hiro put the Right Sapphire Jewel into the other eye socket and it opened. Who didn't see that coming? This dungeon was in two parts. The first part, the Blue Labyrinth, wasn't a huge deal. Some tougher enemies but slimes were lulzy. I got an Angel's Tear from a chest. Gwyn hit level ten and learned Fractured Armor, which lowers an opponent's defense, while Hiro hit level nine and learned Squall, a wind magic move that hits multiple opponents. There were some simple 'hit a switch to move on' ordeals, other than that, nothing really. Between that and the next part was a garden with an Althena statue, thankfully. Then we entered the Blue Spire itself, which had other strong enemies. I would have Hiro use Poe Sword on each strong enemy in a group (masks, bomb angels, crystal knights, no I am not making those up they had BOMB ANGELS) while Gwyn beat the random slimes to death with his mace. I had to go back to the statue once, but otherwise it was simple. There were several items in chests here: an Angel's Tear, an Herb, a Healing Nut, an Herb, a Star Light, and 72$. When we got to the seventh floor (the sixth barely counted due to being an empty space, but all the others had monsters), Gwyn told Hiro to find a secret passage to the top. So Hiro and Ruby immediately find a suspicious shiny large globe thing and get teleported away. Gwyn fails to notice because he's old or something, I don't know how he didn't see it. They arrive in a dark room, and find a crystal that Hiro touches. It begins to shine, and out comes a blue haired woman with a red hat, red cape, and the pendant the naked lady from the start was wearing. Hmmmm. Then she speaks and oh gosh her voice so doesn't fit her. It's not a bad voice, it's just way too high pitched for this lady. Anyway, she says she is Lucia from the Blue Star and that she needs to find the goddess Althena immediately. Ruby is freaking out (when Lucia's emerging she proclaims she's "going to hurl", which makes no sense and I think R.L. Stine somehow slipped it into the script), but Hiro is apparently an idiot and says that she's the most beautiful girl ever. Lucia doesn't seem to hear this, but Ruby does and she gets ticked. <_< At least Lucia has the courtesy to teleport us back to where we were taken from. Gwyn realizes that if Leo saw Lucia, he would think she was the Destroyer, so we have to get her out of there before that happens. When we get to the sixth floor, five crystal knights attack, causing Hiro to tell Lucia that he'll get rid of them. He probably could have, if Lucia hadn't decided to use Plasma Rain to annihilate them first. Yeah, she's a guest party member for sure, the only thing you can see is her HP (and special equipment, apparently her pendant is shiny and mysterious) which is at 777, compared to neither of my guys having over 100. Her blowing up the crystal knights boosted Hiro from level ten to eleven at least. </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... | Level: 41 New Moderator | [Spoiler for Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, click to show]Because she made fights easy as heck, I fought every monster in sight for experience. Gwyn hit level twelve and learned Shattered Sword, which lowers an opponent's attack. We eventually got out of the Blue Spire and began to head through the garden. Suddenly, DEEP MYSTERIOUS VOICE FROM NOWHERE. Some jerk named Zophar seems to know who Lucia is and calls her a princess of the Blue Star. She says she won't let him destroy this world and asks where Althena is, which he obviously isn't about to spill. Lucia tries to call on the power of the dragons, but whoops, Zophar apparently sealed those. He proceeds to lay a curse on her and then laughs and runs off. I guess, it's not like you see the guy. Lucia now has 1 HP and her sprite is changed to look weary and haggard, so that's not a good sign. Gwyn insists we get her home so he can look up a cure for the curse. We try to do that, but run into a statue of a Guardian that has come to life. Oops. This first boss isn't too bad, Gwyn used Shattered Sword, Fractured Armor, Shattered Sword, and then Shattered Sword later when it tried to boost its attack again. Hiro kept using Poe Sword and dealt a ton of damage each time. Lucia hid in a corner like a smart girl, considering her 1 HP status. We won without much trouble. Now, on the way out, we ran into four more Guardians. This is definitely a hopeless boss fight. Two on each side, trapping you in the middle, Lucia goes down first turn no matter what, and since Shattered Sword and Fractured Armor can only hit one enemy, there's no way to keep them weak enough to survive against. Once Lucia and Gwyn fell, we were pulled out of the fight to witness the cannon on Destiny annihilate them. Sweet deal. Leo tells Gwyn he was a fool for coming out here, Ruby's like "pfft", and Leo notices Lucia. Hiro basically says, "A being up in the tower attacked and cursed her and it's the Destroyer" and Leo is apparently an even bigger idiot than Hiro because he believes it and rushes off with his four helpers. To Hiro's credit, Ruby says that he had never lied that convincingly to Gwyn before, so I guess desperation to save pretty girls brings out lying talents? When we got back to the house, Lucia said that she needed to find Althena before it was too late, that Zophar could destroy her. Hiro and Ruby (mainly Ruby because Hiro's already fallen far for Lucia >_>) are wondering why Leo called the Destroyer 'Lucia' before running into the Blue Spire (they never told him what her name was), but Lucia says that there are many things the humans cannot understand about her relation to the goddess. Oh hey so she's not human either. Gwyn returns and says that he can't cure a curse this powerful, but that a priest could, and there's one in a town across the lake. He gets a boat out and tells Hiro to get Lucia to him before it's too late. So that'll be next. Oh, I've gotten twelve Herbs from random enemy drops and nothing else. HEALING POWER. </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... Take it back!"-Id, Xenogears |

| Level: 41 New Moderator | I'll update Sapphire and Dragon Warrior Monster tomorrow, too tired now. [Spoiler for Dissidia: Final Fantasy, click to show]Mognet letters I have received for the past few days were all involved in the quiz. First one asked me the FFXI question after giving me 30 PP and a Superslick, second one asked me the FFIX question for Gemini while providing 30 PP and a Superslick, and the third gave me 30 PP and Friend Card: "Stilzkin 2". I think that covers them all. Though I did not lose that Sephiroth fight, I did lose to a level 27 Cecil, level 30 Squall who was a boss, a level thirty Zidane, and a level thirty Chaos. So yeah. My fourth run in the colosseum with Exdeath finally wrapped things up. I beat Bartz at level 46 (I would have tried at an earlier level but he never seemed to want to come up) and got Chaos Report #5. You can bet I exited right after that, I was sick of Exdeath. >_> Though he DID help me get a lot of blocks done, which I need for two accomplishments at least. Next was Kefka. His quotes are usually amusing, but I hated his beginning and end battle postures. As for playing, only one strategy really worked for me: use a fire spell that homes on the opponent, then use Trine while they're dodging like idiots and hope it hits. Repeat until they die. It's really boring but anything else tends to get blocked, which wrecks Kefka. His alternate outfit was just a bunch of random colors being changed to other things, nothing too special. First colosseum run for Kefka, I lost to a level thirty Terra boss, and then lost to another level thirty Terra boss, though that one got me from level four to eight so I really couldn't complain. My second run went a lot better. I beat a level thirty Cecil boss at level sixteen thanks to the summon Magic Pot, and that got me three levels. I eventually lost to Chaos (intentionally, I needed an HP recovery and I wanted him out of my hand so I challenged him with no hope of winning) and then a level thirty boss Terra. The loss to Terra was complete garbage. When Cosmos Judgment is in effect (all these bosses for reports are Double Judgment), if someone goes into red health, they get affected by Merciful Touch, which fills their EX bar completely. So Terra got that and used it to break me from over 2000 brave to enough to kill me. And no, it's not going to help you the same way. Enemies very, very rarely leave you in red health, they either kill you or don't most of the time, so forget Merciful Touch doing anything for you. After that stupid loss, I quit and tried a third run. Terra almost did the EXACT SAME THING, but she wasn't able to kill me, so I counterattacked and won. Got Chaos Report #6 and tossed Kefka out of the line up. Forget using him again until I need to max his moves and levels. >_< He was about level 28 when I beat Terra, so that'll have to happen eventually. Next up was Shade Impulse with Warrior of Light. I died to a level 78 Warrior of Light manikin twice in part one. After plenty of resets, I beat it, which helped me get 100% in Shade Impulse part one (after I earned the last item I needed). Part two only had an item left for me to get, and after that, it was at 100% as well, which means I only have Inward Chaos to max. I haven't actually PLAYED Inward Chaos yet, so... I got to part three of Shade Impulse before having to stop. I actually found a Rosetta Stone in a random box, which was amazing. Other than that, I got the accomplishment Impulse: Final Fantasy I, but that's all there is to say. Yay for bonus day, it was quite useful. </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | [Spoiler for Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, click to show]It feels like I've played a lot longer than four hours, but that's what my game clock says now. We arrived quickly in the town of Larpa, which revolves around people who like to drink and gamble. A sanctuary built by Althena's Chosen, a religious cult who is rather greedy for money donations and a bit shady in general, has been trying to convince the gamblers that they are sinful and will burn for eternity if they don't donate their winnings to Althena. The gamblers think they're idiots. I can't really disagree with them. I did donate 100$ to see what would happen, but it only caused you to get healed by the statue (which was nice, but not worth that money). The rest of my savings went to buying equipment at various intervals. I picked up a Short Sword, and then a Mace, and then a Leather Cap, and finally Leather Armor. The chests in town contained an Angel's Tear, an Herb, a Saucepan Lid, and a Healing Nut. I learned with the Herb one that you can only carry twenty of a type of item at a time. (The text is pretty amusing: Herb?! Like we need any more of those! to paraphrase.) Talking to the people around town taught me that Ronfar, the priest Gwyn sent us to see, was apparently not a member of Althena's Chosen anymore. They scorned him for abandoning them and taking up drinking and gambling. That led me to head to the tavern. I tried his house first, but a note on the door (from someone named L.M., hmmm) showed he hadn't come by. I was afraid the cutscene introducing him would be like Kyle's in Silver Star Story (the guy is drunk and barely coherent when you meet him >_>), but thankfully not. Ronfar was reluctant to talk to Hiro and challenged him to a game of dice instead. I called evens, but I really don't think it matters, you probably lose no matter what. It's around that point that Lucia nearly faints, but Ronfar finally notices her (she was hanging back too far for him to see) and transports her to his home right away. Considering this guy is a lady's man of sorts, I'm amazed he never tried to hit on Lucia. Must have respect for Hiro's desires, lolz. (To be fair, most women are hitting on Ronfar first, so I can't really blame him for playing along as much as if he'd started it. =P) Ronfar explained, once Hiro and Ruby met up with him, that he couldn't cure a curse like the one Lucia had because he had given up his faith. Before anything else could be said, a visitor came, the mysterious L.M. OH NOES IT'S REALLY LEO. Hiro managed to warn Ronfar that Leo was there for Lucia, so Ronfar goes out to talk to him alone. Leo tells Ronfar about how some brat (heeeey) named Hiro tricked him and ran off with the Destroyer, who was in human form. Ronfar says he doesn't know anything, causing Leo to leave. When he speaks to Hiro again, Ronfar says that even though Leo is basically the best friend he's had, he knows how stubborn he can be even when he's known to be wrong, and he believes Hiro's intentions are good. You can then say you saved Lucia because she's a total babe, or because she needed help. Being a good person I took the second option, which led Hiro to say some nice things before thinking to himself, "I won't mention how beautiful I thought she was", which was kinda funny. He really is crazy about her. >_> Anyhow, Ronfar decided to try and get Lucia to the sanctuary, which has a big Althena statue that has healing properties. We took a back path called Larpa Pass to avoid catching Leo's attention. It had a chest for 500$ and nothing else besides monsters. The monsters weren't too bad, there were some annoying flies that could poison but that's about it. The one problem was that I was determined to keep Lucia alive, so whenever a monster actually hit her, I reloaded a previous game. No there's not really a reason to do that that I could see. I was curious if something would happen when she died (like Hiro reacting), but apparently not, and nothing happened for keeping her alive the whole way. Oh well. </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... Take it back!"-Id, Xenogears |

| Level: 41 New Moderator | [Spoiler for Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, click to show]When we got to the sanctuary, Ronfar tried to lift the curse, but failed the first try. He said he had never seen a curse he could fail to lift except once, which prompted a flashback (I think for himself, it didn't seem like Hiro learned anything about this) about how he failed to save a girl named Mauri. I'm guessing she's Leo's sister, seeing as they looked similar and Leo was in the flashback as well, and was probably Ronfar's love interest. Whatever the case was, he vowed not to fail again, this time with Lucia, and succeeded in lifting the curse after a flashy light show. Cue us retreating to Ronfar's home for sleep. Apparently Lucia was in good shape, because next morning she had vanished from the house. Talking to the townspeople got some funny stories about how oblivious she was to things, such as asking what money was when the mayor demanded she pay him for information (he took 30$ from me instead, the jerk) and drinking an entire mug of beer without any reaction in the bar when challenged to a drinking game. Also, I think Ruby wants to make Hiro a furry. Every time someone comments on Lucia being his girlfriend, Ruby butts in to say that Hiro only has place for one woman and it's taken. She also told Lucia (before leaving Gwyn's) to keep away from Hiro, and Lucia totally misunderstood, thinking Ruby was warning her that Hiro was clumsy and could trip people. Ah, so naive. <_< I also got my first bromide from a man who did a portrait of Lucia. Bromides are pictures for collecting in game and are the main missables. I've got the bromide guide open to identify locations, so I knew one was in Larpa, but how to get it and what it looked like were new. (I dislike using guides for a first run, but there's no new game plus and I really, really do not want to do an entire replay to get one missing picture.) After finally finding Lucia and listening to her talk about the strange new world she was in, she departed to find a ship in the next town to get to the holy city. Ronfar showed up shortly after to ask where she was, and then basically told Hiro he was an idiot for letting her leave since Leo and the ship Destiny were going to that town next, placing her in danger. So now we have to cross the Salyan Desert and hope to catch up with Lucia before she gets into trouble. With the curse lifted, by the way, Lucia now has 79 HP. If she does join permanently at some point, she's now at a reasonable strength thanks to the lingering curse effects. </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | A few days ago, I received Phantasy Star Zero from a friend. Today, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team arrived. Talk about having my work cut out for me. [Spoiler for Pokemon Sapphire, click to show]I finally went through Victory Road, which has great music. The fights were simple overall. Wally met up with me at the end to battle, and as I mentioned before, his team is a lot better than Brendan's. He had an Altaria, Roselia, Delcatty, Magneton, and Gardevoir. I won without much issue, it was still a nice change to have a decent rival though. I am now trying to get all of my main party Pokemon to level fifty before challenging the Elite 4. My main party consists of Blaziken, Mightyena, Manectric, Cacturne, Gardevoir, and Aggron. From what I remember, the four types used are Dark, Ghost, Ice, and Dragon. Blaziken can probably solo the Dark user, Mightyena and Cacturne will do well against the Ghost, Blaziken wrecks the Ice user, and Aggron is a good wall for the Dragon user while the others assist. The champion I don't recall at all team-wise, so that gets to be a surprise. -Meditite evolved into Medicham -Machop evolved into Machoke -Whismur evolved into Loudred, and then Exploud -Barboach evolved into Whiscash </spoiler> [Spoiler for Dissidia: Final Fantasy, click to show]Finished parts three and four of Shade Impulse with Warrior of Light. He hit level 100 before I reached Chaos, so that fight was laughable. I got Cosmos Report #1. Next up was Sephiroth in the colosseum. He is incredibly easy to use and moves decently fast, overall he's one of the higher tier villains for me to play as. His alternate costume is the worst one ever though. It's him being shirtless. Screw you Square, screw you. He gets to stay in his default. >_> Despite doing well with Sephiroth, I lost a lot. First run, I lost to a level thirty Cloud boss, a level eight Terra (thanks Merciful Touch I still hate you), a level sixteen Emperor, and a level ten Cloud (Merciful Touch AGAIN). Second run, I lost to a level fifteen Cloud, a level thirty Cloud boss, another level thirty Cloud boss, and a level thirty Kuja before quitting. Third run now, haven't lost yet. I'm hoping to find the Cloud boss quickly so I can beat him and leave. Sephiroth is almost at level fifty so I want to move on soon. </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | Pfft, I don't need another RPG to play right now, Eternal Blue is awesome so far. Already beats out Silver Star Story for me at this point and I loved Silver Star Story. ...Though I'm sure when I start Vesperia, I'll think it's the BEST. GAME. EVAH. like I do every time I play a Tales game. >_> [Spoiler for Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, click to show]The West Desert Pass was annoying to get through at first. The enemies were fast and outnumbered Hiro and Ronfar, and they could posion. Poison in this game isn't bad since it goes away the minute the battle is over and can even wear out in battle itself. It does a good amount of damage though. I had to rely on Hiro's Squall to get groups of enemies to die before they did too much damage. Thankfully, it was a very short 'dungeon' (only one screen long) so I got out quickly. Only one chest was there, and it has 300 S. (I think it's an S, taking a closer look, I saw the line was drawn horizontally through the S instead of vertically like a dollar sign.) I wanted to go back to beat every enemy at least once and get some more money, but I entered the next town, Dalton, first. We saw Destiny in port, and it had Lucia on board surrounded by guards and Leo. When Leo refused to listen to her pleas of needing to see Althena, Lucia knocked out the guards, and then Leo attacked her for the KO. Ouch. Even if he is an idiot, he's good at fighting. >_> (They go into an actual battle screen for it, his sword glows, grows longer, and then flings out like a boomerang to hit. So it's like Sephiroth's blade except more flashy and potentially more retarded.) Anyhow, Lucia was taken away to be imprisoned and executed the next morning, and Hiro was of course going aw heck nah at that. I took the time to talk to the town people. One kid mentioned four top guards for Althena: Leo, Lunn, Borgan, and Mauri. Mauri surprised me; I assume it's the same Mauri that Ronfar knows, though he didn't comment on it. Hm. I also found treasure, an Herb and a Star Light. The Althena statue had been broken, so to heal, we had to go to the church and donate 100 S. A little girl mentioned that she saw a guy in a robe break it, much like the ones Althena's Chosen wear. Wow they're not even TRYING to hide how corrupt this place is. I took the time to go back to the desert pass for some more money and experience. When Hiro hit level fourteen, he got the ability to attack twice. Physical characters in Lunar often get the ability to attack multiple times, and it is amazing, one of the best things you can get from levels IMO. Ronfar got the magic skill Destiny Dice at level thirteen. When I tried it and called odds, it killed all the enemies in the fight. I'd hate to see what happens if you get unlucky... Once I got back to town with much more cash, I bought a Long Sword, Flail, Wood Shield, Bracelet, and Colorful Bandanna. Then I found a Dagger in a chest, oh boy. After that, we got onto Destiny to try and free Lucia. I went into the doorway with non-hostile guards first, and met one of the best NPCs ever. He stands in the middle of the armory and says (paraphrased), "This has got to be the most boring job I've ever had, and I've been a potato peeler before. It'd be insane for anyone to try attacking the armory!" Mr. Potato Peeler Turned Guard, my sympathy to you. (As a rule of thumb, Lunar tends to have some of the funniest NPCs I've ever seen. That and Custom Robo, it's a hard call between the two.) We fought guards after that. I think I must have been a bit overleveled because these fruitcakes went down fast. Private and Captain alike were slaughtered. At level fifteen, Ronfar learned Saint Litany, which apparently acts like Regen, I'll try it out in the next boss fight. Hiro learned Sybillium Sword at level sixteen, which is a more powerful Squall from what I can tell for a bit of a higher cost. I also got an Iron Shield from a Private/Captain combo who dropped it, which went on Hiro immediately. Finally, something besides Herbs and Purity Herbs (I got four Purity Herbs this update). </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... | Level: 41 New Moderator | [Spoiler for Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, click to show]Eventually we saw Leo talking to Lucia in her cell before he left. We walked up and freed Lucia by pressing the button next to her cell. I assume it's too far for her to reach on her own, but from the way the graphics look, it seemed silly she couldn't get out herself. <_< Leo really should have used a key. Speaking of Leo, wow is he an idiot. When we heard someone coming back, we hid behind a wall, Leo comes in and is like WHAT WHERE'D SHE GO and walks into the cell. Cue Ronfar walking up to the button and pressing it, locking Leo inside. Owned. He proceeded to rage at us while I lol'd at his stupidity. He called Ronfar a traitor, and Ronfar responded by saying he was gambling on Lucia and that he knew it was the right thing to do. We left the ship after. Lucia has 88 HP now, huzzah? To get away from Leo when he got free to pursue us, we went into Starlight Forest, a quite simple 'dungeon' that had some new but weak enemies. Ronfar learned Escape Litany at level sixteen, which lets us exit a dungeon immediately, and I am very glad to have that for the future. I found an Herb and 600 S in treasure chests. Lucia was able to cast Magic Barrier now, which raises her defense. She acts on her own accord still, I'm wondering if she'll ever be anything but a guest. Once we got to the end, Lucia asked Hiro why he was still helping her besides wanting an adventure. Hiro says there's another reason, which causes Ruby to throw a hissy fit and proclaim that Hiro is hers, hers alone, and by golly he'll become a furry if it's the last thing she does. >_> Anyhow, you can choose to have Hiro speak of when he was a child and why it led him to how he acts today (going on adventures and such), or say he has a dream which is a more condensed version of that. I went with the child explanation, it felt better to me. We moved on after that into the Illusion Woods. The idea here was to basically get ourselves lost in them so Leo couldn't find us. Ronfar knew a woodcutter here that he'd gambled with before, and after a dice game that Ronfar won, the woodcutter agreed to tell us how to get through the Illusion Woods. He showed us oddly colored bushes and explained that to proceed further, we had to go through them. Good, I was afraid this would be like the Lost Woods. We entered the bush just in time; Leo and four guards showed up shortly after, looked around, and failed to find us. Leo vowed that he would never forgive Ronfar. It's all very dramatic... since I care about Ronfar. He's been awesome so far. Leo, on the other hand, is still a moron. <_< Lots of chests in the Illusion Woods. I got an Herb, an Herb, an Herb (geez louise), a Star Light, a Snake Crest (gives you the ability to poison but lowers your attack, no thanks bro), 146 S, an Herb, and Chain Mail that Hiro got right away. Some more enemies that were strong, but I was in good shape to take them out. Ruby kept killing Goblin Kings, I guess she likes burning their beards or something. When we got to the end, it was evening, and we found a caravan that was performing. A lady danced in an anime cutscene, causing our members to be impressed, especially Ruby. The woman introduced herself as Jean and was happy we liked her dancing. We met the troop leader, Giban, who invited us to stay for the night since we couldn't move on right now (vines are blocking the way, MYSTERIOUS). We accepted, and I explored to talk to all the NPCs and get a Life Jewel from a chest. </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... | Level: 41 New Moderator | [Spoiler for Lunar: Eternal Blue, click to show]To proceed, we had to talk to Jean away from the camp in a pretty overlook area of the forest. Hiro asked her some basic questions (how long have you danced, what was the song you danced to, it was called Oasis Rose and I'm curious if the OST has it), and then Ruby explained that we were on the run from Althena's Chosen. Jean immediately sided with us, saying that she and her group hate them because they try to ban them from dancing and performing because it's against Althena's ways. Jean's reaction and mine: oh yeah right. So now we have performers to help us, yay. Before we could talk any more, a tentac-sorry, a VINE monster-came out of the ground and grabbed Lucia. Hiro was about to help before Jean sprang into action and karate chopped it to death. Whoa man, get her into my party. She begged us not to tell anyone before running off. In her room, she had a flashback of fleeing from a robed man with a mask and several other people who told her to join the Cult of the Shadow Dragon again. I smell backstory! It's the morning now and Ronfar came back from bathing in a nearby spring. Hiro, Lucia, and Ruby are about to go there. In before shenanigans ensue. Funny note: When you examine the big bird pulling the caravan and Lucia asks what it is, Ruby says, "It's a choco-er, a cluckabo (sp)", which I lol'd at. Interesting note: The woman next to the bird was singing Luna's song, and it was a lullaby Lucia had heard a woman sing to her child in Larpa. Apparently it's an important song in this game! (Wind Nocturne is the name. Check it out on Youtube or something, it's very pretty.) </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... I finally found him... at level 72. Good grief. I got some components after that, so by the time I left, Sephiroth was level 86. I began to use Terra for Shade Impulse. Her scene with Kefka was okay overall. I'm in part two right now. The Mognet letter today gave me 30 PP, and I said I'd exchange letters if the Moogle told me something happy. Let's see if that does anything new. </spoiler> [Spoiler for Pokemon Sapphire, click to show]Grimer evolved into Muk, and Wingull into Pelipper. </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | Got a late gift today, Mega Man Star Force 3: Black Ace. I also picked up Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box at Target with the gift card I'd gotten for Christmas. I preordered the limited edition of Lunar: Silver Star Harmony for the PSP and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey for the DS. In addition to all this, I got Drakengard and Drakengard 2 in the mail since I had ordered them at a very cheap price (the site had them on clearance). Excuse me while I breathe. I also forgot to mention my New Year resolutions, two of which apply in some way to my topics: 1. Write at least an hour a day. 2. Upload a fanfic chapter at least once a week. 3. Upload a Youtube video at least once a week. 4. Beat at least one new game a month. 5. Watch at least one new anime series a month. Eternal Blue will hopefully fulfill January, or Professor Layton since I'm looking very forward to starting that, for this topic. Anime wise, I'll remark on that in my anime topic. So I have updates for Dragon Warrior Monster 2, Sapphire, Dissidia, and Eternal Blue. I haven't posted any because I've been really busy. I'm playing a hack called Touhoumon on the side, but it's not really worth remarking on in updates. It's my lowest priority and it wouldn't make much sense to people not familiar with Touhou. It's a great hack though. Good sprites, good music, and excellent type combination and moves added. I have one girl who is an Electric and Grass mix. Neutralizing Ground and Flying with that is neat. Anyhow, I'll try to get things in order tomorrow. Too tired right now. --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... Take it back!"-Id, Xenogears |

For most of the week, I would only get on long enough to get the Mognet letter of the day and do a battle with Terra. Since yesterday was my bonus day, I finished Shade Impulse with her, getting her to level 100 and netting me Cosmos Report #6. Only Cecil is left. I actually lost once while running through, to a Sephiroth over sixty levels lower than me. How? Mimic Pot. Good grief. I started a coliseum run with Ultimecia. Worst character to use so far. Her HP attacks are horrific. I got her to level six before dropping out due to how long the fights were taking. She lost... twice, I believe. I'm now running through the level 31-60 course with Onion Knight. | Level: 41 New Moderator | Yes, the first Layton game was great. I'm hoping the second will be just as good! [Spoiler for Dissidia: Final Fantasy, click to show]For the past few days, I have been getting several characters to level 100 with different courses. Onion Knight was first, and then Tidus, followed by Firion, and then Bartz. That leaves Cecil as the only Cosmos character who is not at 100 yet. (What's that? Shantotto? Who's that?) I also got Sephiroth to level 100 because he was really close to hitting it anyway. After that, I used Zidane in the Lunar Whale course. It's not exactly bad, but my equipment is way too low to keep going. I need to make better stuff to get the 100 battle accomplishment. I've gotten several accomplishments over the past while. I'll post those later, but I can say I got Special Delivery yesterday for finally getting 100 Mognet letters. I actually got two yesterday, which was surprising, I thought I was stuck on one letter per day for good. I'm not keeping track of losses to actual characters anymore because I found an option in the menu that shows them. So basically, the only losses you can forget about permanently are manikin ones. </spoiler> I really need to update Sapphire and Lunar 2. *Beats self over head* I'll try to get to that tomorrow. --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | [Spoiler for Dissidia: Final Fantasy, click to show]I decided to stop with Zidane for the moment. Believe I did the coliseum three (maybe four) times, so that was enough for the moment. I finally finished up with Ultimecia after that. I died to Squall twice because of Merciful Touch. That is really the worst game mechanic ever. But I won the third time and got Chaos Report #8 with Ultimecia around level... 38, I think. Kuja is next, but I want to wait until tomorrow since that has bonus experience. So I've been doing the second coliseum with Golbez for items and levels. I had to quit once and then just stopped the second run when I hit level 70. Third coliseum will be next for him. </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | [Spoiler for Dissidia: Final Fantasy, click to show]I got Golbez to level 87 before being kicked out of the colosseum for too many losses. So that was good. He should be maxed in level soon. I went to play as Kuja next. This was the easiest report to get ever. The level 30 maximum Zidane boss showed up when I was level 2, and I had nothing else to select. I BEAT HIM AT THAT LEVEL. Went straight from 2 to 8 with that victory and got Chaos Report #9. All I can say is that I am lucky Zidane was being retarded and that I had a lot of patience with Flare Star. It got me through with only taking one hit that barely did anything. I went a bit further since Kuja was still low leveled. He is pretty fun to play as, probably my favorite magic user besides maybe Emperor to use. His alternate outfit is fabulous, it's a dark blue outfit. I got to 29 before losing to the point that I had to leave the colosseum. Jecht was next, and he is already high on my list of people to use. This guy is fun. He's not speedy, but he moves fast enough to feel uncomfortable and clunky (like Garland). His brave combos are great and his HP ones are pretty good. Triumphant Grasp can be annoying to hit with, but otherwise, it's cool. And I love his EX Burst. His alternate outfit is a dark red... whatever the cloth is that hangs over his leg and a purple bandanna. Awesome! Anyhow, even though I love using Jecht, I did lose a couple of times. I had to leave the colosseum before I could finally get a match against the Tidus I needed. By that point, I was level 46, so he went down in a heartbeat to give me Chaos Report #10 and make me reach level 47. I quit the colosseum after that. With that, my Chaos Report section has a star next to it, symbolizing I got all ten. All that's left is to get through Shade Impulse with Cecil for the last Cosmos Report. I started with him at level 41 and hit level 64 by the end of part one. I got Impulse: Final Fantasy IV for doing that, and then Shade Impulse Completed for clearing Shade Impulse with all the characters possible. I'll continue Cecil tomorrow. I may play a bit more with Golbez tonight to hit level 100. </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... Take it back!"-Id, Xenogears |

| Level: 41 New Moderator | Epyon was kind enough to today give me the last Christmas present he promised. It was 2000 Wii Points, and combined with what I had already, I was up to 5600 Wii Points. So I bought Breath of Fire II, Shining Force, Shining Force II, Star Fox 64, and Sin and Punishment. I have 1000 left in case Earthbound miraculously comes out. [Spoiler for Dissidia: Final Fantasy, click to show]I did indeed get Golbez to level 100. I also bought his secret voice clip (only he and Exdeath get them). Then I used Jecht in the colosseum with the goal to hit level 60. I got to 63 by the time I left. Shade Impulse parts two, three, and four were simple. Cecil hit level 94 when Chaos went down. His conversation with Golbez was really touching, one of the best easily. No losses occurred. I watched the secret ending for getting all the reports, thanks to that giving me Cosmos Report #4. Then I read the reports in order to get an idea of what was going on. Thanks to Epyon for helping me understand what happened. Garland has a huge role when you look into it. I am now running through the third colosseum with Cecil to get him to level 100. </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... | Level: 41 New Moderator | [Spoiler for Dissidia: Final Fantasy, click to show]Here are the accomplishments I forgot to mention for several updates: Carnage (defeat a certain amount of enemies) Olymphic Metalist (get a certain amount of medals) The Neverending March (hint is 'go anywhere, everywhere, near and far', not sure what I got this for) One for the Record Books (achieve ten consecutive wins in the Lunar Whale course) Pugilist Pointillist (earn 100000 points in the Lunar Whale course) Yesterday I happened to obtain: It's Got AP-peal (receive 100000 AP) Mostly did a lot of grinding today. Cecil got to level 100 as hoped. Then I worked on getting Jecht to level 100. When he first had to leave the colosseum due to losses, he had gotten to 85. The second time, 97. The third time I hit 100 and left after getting a couple of items. Next I decided to work a bit on Gabranth, who I had not used until now. He's an interesting guy to play as. Since he can only kill anything in EX Mode or chase mode (you will never kill a CPU in chase mode), you have to basically smack the opponent across the field or run the heck away until you can use EX Charge to get a full bar. Then his EX Mode slaughters. I love his quote when going into it. "Hatred is wot drives me!" First run, got him to 18, second run, 34, and stopped at that. Also, his alternate is really cool. His gray armor becomes jet black. I decided to level up the Emperor a bit after that, since he was only at level 25. I got him to 32 before my battery died. I think my battery died like three times today, that's how much I played it. (At least twice, might be exaggerating with three times.) </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting. The reason is that I needed materials from the lowest colosseum, mainly Dusty Elixirs, so I stayed with the Emperor to get them all. | Level: 41 New Moderator | [Spoiler for Dissidia: Final Fantasy, click to show]I got Exdeath to level 100 today. My reward was the ability to buy his secret voice clip, which has him saying, "Turtle!" Thanks game. I'll probably work more on Cloud of Darkness next so I can get her out of the way. </spoiler> Remember my resolution to beat a game once a month? It's January 26th and I haven't beaten one this month yet. Thus I need a quick game to beat. Come to me, Dracula X Chronicles! [Spoiler for Rondo of Blood (Remake), click to show]I only know a little about Rondo of Blood. I've never played a classic Castlevania before, only Metroidvanias, so I won't be having an easy time. The intro movie is in German and shows Shaft actually doing something. Like whoa. Dracula comes out looking fabulous. Cue game starting screen. Stage 0 was very easy once I figured out what to do. All that happens is Death attacks Richter on his carriage. I thought you had to hit Death, but I couldn't do that since he was floating too high, so I went back to the title screen to give it another try. Turns out you have to hit his scythe. Once it is destroyed, he fires a skull at you and then runs off. Stage 1 was a bit painful because I kept trying to use the analog stick from Dissidia playing. A bit in, I got to see Shaft abduct Annette to lure Richter to Dracula or something. (Annette being his love interest.) Then I walked into a water section and died. Didn't know it would act like a pit, whoops. A bit later on, I died to a golem. Then I died to a golem after that golem. After that came the first boss, Wyvern. It was thankfully very easy. I never got hit by an attack (accidentally jumped into a claw above but that was collision damage, not an attack). Once I was told how to use the axe subweapon, it died horrifically. Stage 2 is where I am now. First time I got a death to crows. Yes, crows. They are REALLY hard to hit without the right subweapon. That was Game Over number one. After that, I got killed by jumping into a zombie like a retard after being crushed by a chandelier (made me weak enough to actually die). Then I got gored by a behemoth chasing me. My third life, I managed to get a key while being chased by a behemoth and went into the sewers to find a locked door. Richter found Shaft with a captive Maria and scared him away. Maria then became a playable character after nearly taking off Richter's head with a dragon. Awesome. I'll use her after I beat the game with Richter though since she's basically easy mode. After saving Maria, I made it to the boss, Werewolf, and died instantly due to having no health. I tried again but died even with full health due to not getting the hang of his pattern quickly enough. Game Over number two! I started back at the beginning of the level and died promptly three times to crows and chandeliers and stuff. My last life, I got to the sewer alternate path I wanted, but died by jumping into enemies too often. Game Over number three! Dang I miss double jump. =( </spoiler> --- "That was pretty interesting.
