This is true, actually, but if I make you a mod, then there are 8 active mods and at that point I have no good justification for not just making everyone a mod.

That is probably true! I don't even remember who was around when this was going on. Obviously I know I was there. I think Scorp was (hence why I named him), it seems you were as well. ...Might have been just us 3 then. Or maybe I'm crazy and Scorp wasn't there and was just us and every time I said Scorp before I really meant you!
...All I remember is that there was at least one other person besides me on at the time, and they reacted faster than I did in taking steps to stop things from getting worse.
