| Level: 41 New Moderator | Call My Name ~Kaze Nari no Oka~ - Ghost Hound: Ending My trusty friend mentioned this anime coming out and that she was interested in it. I don't know if she pursued it and I never looked at it myself. But I did randomly come across the ending while looking for a different series and decided to listen to it. This is a very pretty song, and that's the main reason I went with it. I like the animation as well. The upside-down water reflections are an interesting but peaceful way to end an episode. It was the song itself that got me to post it though. I had also checked the opening, but honestly, I wasn't that compelled by it. This marks the first anime opening/ending where I honestly could not find an English translation no matter where I looked. I wound up putting the only thing I could find. It's disappointing because I'd like to know how it translates. Call My Name ~Kaze Nari no Oka~ - Ghost Hound: Full Version Yoru no sukima yakusoku no okade tsukiakari ni shitataru hanabira ni KISU wo fushigi no kuni izanau sono kagi nigitta mama de shoujo wa otona ni narenai kowagaru koto nado nanimo nai anata wa keshite hitori janai no call my name, dear my friend sugu sobani ikuwa doko ni itatte tsumagatteiru call my name, call my name sugu daite ageru ude no naka de nemutte mou nakanaide kioku no soko yonde iru no koe wa tooi kazenari mitai ni yume no uragawa kitto itsu ka suwari komu toki mo mimi wo tsumase futatabi mata hohoemi au ushinau koto wo osorenaide anata wa anata no mama de ii no call my name, dear my friend sono hieta yubi wo atatameru tame kokoni iru no call my name, call my name kanashimi no nami wa towa no kotowari janai toki wo koete chiheisen ga kagayaki ni sakare me wo tojite sono ibuki kanjiteru call my name, dear my friend sugu sobani ikuwa doko ni itatte tsumagatteiru call my name, call my name sugu daite agueru ude no naka de nemutte mou nakanaide --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line - Chrono Crusade: Opening Chrono Crusade is one of my favorite mangas so far. I got the chance to read my friend's collection and it was fantastic. I heard the anime suffered some pretty serious adaption decay, so I've been avoiding watching it. But I did want to take a look at the opening. We have a lot of action going on in this one. The song has a pretty quality to it, but it also has a fast pace. I kind of wish it had more Rosette fighting scenes but oh well. Chrono gets some cool ones, and I was pleasantly surprised that it showed Joshua at all. My favorite part has to be where it zooms out of the broken house to show Chrono and Rosette facing each other. Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line (Our Wings Are a Pleasure Line) - Chrono Crusade: Full Version Let's fly in the most beautiful of sky This is certainly a try for the future! Your prayer shines within your eyes, it overflows your smile We trust our wings to the current, there's no going back now The miracle of us meeting by chance is our pleasure line We promised that, didn't we? Let's fly in the most beautiful sky We'll try no matter how many times we fall! Seizing tomorrow while we get hurt I will never forget you telling me so kindly and strongly... The light dissolves the rain soaking my heart, drop by drop I'm protecting this little love with wings trembling in pain Do not forget that this world is our pleasure line I'll never be afraid Let's fly together in the endless sky! Fly without letting go of my hand! Wandering while seeking out our dream I'll embrace you passionately on the hill while we wait for the morning glow As I remember, the wind blows against my cheeks At the signpost before us Let's go fly together in the endless sky Fly without letting go of my hand! Wandering while seeking out our dreams With you on the hill as we wait for the morning glow... Let's go fly in the most beautiful sky This is certainly a try for the future! It's okay to get hurt if we seize it You tell me kindly and strongly and we fly away in the morning glow --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... | Level: 41 New Moderator | I was sick for the past week, and due to that being totally out of my control, I feel justified in not posting make-ups for it. Just going to continue with the one per day thing now. True - Dragon Drive: Opening I've watched like four episodes of Dragon Drive. I got the first DVD from Gamestop used on a really good sale that made it incredibly cheap, and for the price, it was actually worth it for a single watch. I didn't really feel a desire to continue the series, but that didn't mean it was bad. Not exactly good, since it stuck to a really common formula, but the dragons were fairly cool and the characters seemed decent overall. The best part, IMO, was the little white dragon, Chibi. He is one of the cutest things ever. EVER. I want a Chibi plushie to hug. Anyhow, the animation for the opening is somewhat strange. Lots of striped lines (those are meant to be there) and not as much action as you might expect. Again, it's not exactly bad art, it just doesn't grip me enough to say 'oh boy I can't wait to watch this'. The song, on the other hand, is one I really like. I'm probably one of the only people to actually like this song, though I'm not sure if that's because people heard it and hated it or if they've just never heard it. Dragon Drive's pretty obscure from my understanding. I could see it being too high-pitched for some people. For me? Well, I'm so fond of it that I posted that opening for the song alone. True - Dragon Drive: Full Version I want to believe in the light I've found that day because there is one promise that I've exchanged with you I want to continue walking without stopping like how I bite into a ripened fruit I spoiled my weak self the blue sky that is left for us those days that I took that for granted if I haven't met you, I would still be unable to break the wall I won't forget the pain I've felt that day I never want to return to that place more stronger I want to believe in the light I've found that day it's okay even if I'm not cool and being laughed at because I'm clumsy I can only choose the same way of living even if I'm holding onto my knees morning will always come to the sky I've looked up at there are worries and uncertainties but you gave me the courage to accept all of that I won't forget the smile of yours on that day I've finally felt that "I'm not alone" at that moment I want to believe in the light I've found that day I don't mind even if others consider it an illusion and laugh at me because it's the answer that we chose I won't forget the pain I've felt that day I never want to return to that place more stronger I want to believe in the light I've found that day because there is one promise that I've exchanged with you I want to continue walking without stopping --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | Blood Queen - Princess Resurrection: Opening What is Princess Resurrection? I have no idea. I just saw a figure of a female from it (I believe the lead) with a huge pair of scissors as her weapon and thought it looked awesome enough to check out the opening for. Pretty typical opening here, with some action, some comedy, and some nice shots of characters. But I do like the designs for a lot of the girls here. I especially like scissors girl, but the others look cool too. As for the song? The lyrics strike me as dumb, but I really like how it sounds. Good to listen to, not so good to figure out the meaning of. A pretty average opening, but one I wouldn't mind seeing again and again if I was watching the series. Blood Queen - Princess Resurrection: Full Version Why had it skipped my memory, even though I've dreamed of it? While still being cold, I blurt out a heart-pounding "Can I do do?" I want you to come, every time I summon you I'll be waiting close by but I'll appear distant, my na-na-na-knight Even the most striking of roses has its thorns that can hurt you Get stronger, so that In your heart, you'll understand the oath you must protect, more than you do now Let's meet in the dark At the place where you're waiting for me Drunk by danger, I'm the Dark Queen who glorifies cruelty Suddenly when you snatched away my glass sword it shattered The pieces are shining As you licked your cut fingers If I devote myself for someone else, will it satisfy my heart The answer is a heart-piercing "What is Lo-Love?", pouring out Just clear eyes would do, if I was not going to be keen on it It's probably waiting anxiously for me, a su-su-surprise If it is destiny that this dark night has no end I'll draw for you this one single reality to the stars Tears that flow light Believe in me Although I don't wanna hurt you Solitude-loving in the past, I'm the Blood Queen who mocks her subordinates You'll surely come back, no matter how far you run away We're eternally bound So won't you give me a sweet kiss of despair? Let's meet in the dark At the place where you're waiting for me Drunk by danger, I'm the Dark Queen who glorifies cruelty Suddenly when you snatched away my glass sword it shattered The pieces are shining As you licked your cut fingers --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | Highschool of the Dead - Highschool of the Dead: Opening This was a confusing opening to learn about. From what I could tell, the name of it is the same as the anime it is for. The lyrics were not on animelyrics so I had to make do with what I could find. Some people also made their own full versions of the song. I think this is the official one down below, but if I'm wrong, I blame Youtube people for not being specific. There aren't that many animes about zombies, which was why this caught my attention. Epyon had started watching it as well. I wanted to see the opening due to that. Some of it looks promising, in terms of action and character designs. The one problem I have with it is that there is an incredible amount of fanservice. Even if the fanservice was male characters, this is supposed to be an anime about undead! I don't care about your big breasts or upskirt shots, get back to fighting zombies! The song itself is pretty cool. It has a fast feel to it that I like for this opening. Even with that, I'm not sure how eager I am to watch the anime due to the ridiculous amounts of sexual appeal. But I'll probably wind up trying it eventually. Highschool of the Dead - Highschool of the Dead: Full Version While I |

| Level: 41 New Moderator | Pressentiment Triste - Tsukuyomi Moon Phase: First Ending Kanashii Yokan - Tsukuyomi Moon Phase: Third Ending How unusual. These two endings are quite different in art, but very close in song, which is why I grouped them together. The first ending is in French, while the third is in Japanese. They have roughly the same translations, though I had to use Youtube for that due to animelyrics failing me again. I read a bit of the manga for this series and was not impressed. It held little to keep me interested. I do like the design for the main female though, she looks quite cute. The first ending kind of ruins this with her right foot, which looks wacky. The fact that that's all you see in the first ending also makes it dull. I much prefer the third, which has some cute pictures and actions. The songs are both pretty, I like them both. They have a whispery feeling that I rarely hear. Pressentiment Triste (Sad Premonition) - Tsukuyomi Moon Phase: Full Version Kanashii Yokan (Sad Premonition) - Tsukuyomi Moon Phase: Full Version The moon casts a sad premonition. How far does it continue? I gave you a clock without hands. I was in a sweet dream from which it seemed like I would never awaken. Time itself stopped. Soon, those shining days may fade. You continue to decorate what you say with lies. My future may be breaking. I have a sad premonition. Someday my memories may be scarred by pain. In your pursuit of your dream's horizon, do you really need me? I have a sad premonition. --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... Take it back!"-Id, Xenogears |

| Level: 41 New Moderator | Tori No Uta - AIR: Opening I've been meaning to watch AIR ever since xp mentioned it, though I'm still not sure when I will. I really like the designs of the characters, and apparently it's based on a good game. Due to this, I like the opening. Good art and lots of cute shots of the girls. They're all quite adorable. The song itself is upbeat sounding and pretty. It really seems to fit the mood. I wish I could say more, but I have so little knowledge of the series. The name of the song is nice too. Tori No Uta (The Song of a Bird) - AIR: Full Version We watched the fading vapor trails They were so dazzling, I ran away- I was always weak I let go, frustrated by the fact That I couldn't stay unchanged since that day Couldn't stay unchanged forever That bird still can't fly well But someday she will know the feeling of cutting through the wind The place she can't reach is still there in the distance She gazes at it, keeping her wish to herself Children walk along the summer railway tracks Exposing their bare feet to the blowing wind We place in the distance the days of our childhood We place in our hands hope that springs forth Chasing, chasing the fading vapor trails It hasn't changed since the day we crossed that hill, and never will So that we will always have it, We'll guard the strength of a sea god, surely The blades of the windmill that turn in the sky Always have the same dream The dream of a bird, her wish kept to herself, Gazing at the place she can't reach I look back: the sun-baked railway tracks are hidden By stormclouds- even if they change their shape, May we always remember The yesterdays left behind by the seasons... Chasing, chasing the fading vapor trails The signal is given too early- we start laughing So that we can always look straight ahead, Even if it's slippery with sweat, I won't let go of your hand, ever We watched the fading vapor trails They were so dazzling, I ran away- I was always weak I let go, frustrated by the fact That I couldn't stay unchanged since that day Couldn't stay unchanged forever --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | Let Me Be With You - Chobits: Opening I've only talked with one person who has watched Chobits, and his opinion was that it was pretty stupid. I don't know just how accurate that is, but I would like to make my own judgment and read/watch it at some point. The main reason for my interest is I really like the design of the main character, Chii. She just seems adorable to me. The endings were really boring artistically, so I went ahead with its opening. The beginning of it with Chii's eye reflections and the end where their hands rise together are well done. The rest is debatable. It only shows the two main characters together. While Chii still looks cute, the male's eyes are hilarious. He has this constant 'derp' look in his eyes. That kinda takes away from the experience. As for the song, whoo boy. I can't really call it a good song, but it is one that really sticks in my mind. It's like hearing It's A Small World After All except with high pitched singing. And despite that, I like the song. I really do. But it's gotta be a Your Mileage May Vary thing, I can only imagine others loathe it for its cute nature. Let Me Be With You - Chobits: Full Version To make sure the two of us meet, I cast a spell Our hands are gently touch, and then look at me smile We pretend not to realize how we really feel And suddenly, we fell in love Let Me Be With You Let Me Be With You Let Me Be With You I want to hold you tight Until now, unable to say it, I've just been hiding it I'm only acting strong, that's all it is, please see through it Just wait five more minutes until we can meet And after that we fell in love Let Me Be With You Let Me Be With You Let Me Be With You I just want to cry When we let go our joined hands It makes me uneasy It makes me uneasy Let Me Be With You Let Me Be With You Let Me Be With You I just want to hold you I just want to hold you --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | Asu E No Kizuna - Valkyria Chronicles: First Opening Valkyria Chronicles is one of the only reasons I am considering getting a Playstation 3 at some point in the future. It seems like a fun game and I'd like to try it out. Since the PSP game is a sequel that spoils the first, I have to avoid that for the time being. Apparently the anime is a huge Adaption Decay so I have been, on the other hand, intentionally avoiding it because I do not want to see it. This is a nice opening though. Good art and animation, a good song, and good character designs. I am kind of baffled at some of the images (why is that girl who usually wields guns baking? I wish I knew these characters so I could say if that made sense or not) but that's what I get for watching it without any knowledge. It seems a good amount of characters are represented at least. If not for hearing about it being badly made, this would make me want to check it out. Once again, no animelyrics translation, I had to go find a different one. | Level: 41 New Moderator | Word of the Voice - Persona -Trinity Soul-: Second Opening I tried watching this anime a while ago. I got through about three episodes before going to do something else. I don't think three episodes or so is a really fair amount of time to give it, so I will probably come back later, but I hear that it's pretty lousy and I didn't see anything special. That said, this is a nice opening. I like it more than the first one. It seems to hold more meaning to it, and the song's a bit better. If I didn't know how strange it had been to watch at first, this opening would probably prompt me to try it. This anime in general probably suffers a lot because of how ridiculously good most Persona game storylines are, while this one is questionable. Word of the Voice - Persona -Trinity Soul-: Full Version Oh, wherefore shall I go? Oh, the voice that calls me I'm nowhere in this utterly buried information or suffocating situation Where will I go to simply irresponsibly flee the rampage of this world? Left behind and soaked in the incessant rain, my heart Will crumble, so listen to the voice just before that I'm fine with a meager bond Because I'll embrace you softly The layered lives now slowly draw breath "I am by your side" Where is the impulse I cut loose going to go in the creation of an imaginary world? Like the birth cry of emotions wavering unbalanced, Confirm it, and run through this night I'm fine with a mundane solitude If we're just going to hurt each other anyway The sorrow that seems to overflow from the gaps in my shut-up heart It won't fade away The warmth, rather than the words, of the voice will be handed down far into the future I hold dear this distance between us when we face each other I'd like a meager bond Because I can sense only you My budded feelings now slowly draw breath "I am by your side" Oh, wherefore shall I go? | Level: 41 New Moderator | The Real Folk Blues - Cowboy Bebop: Ending Well, the opening got posted, so I guess an ending is my best choice to represent Cowboy Bebop. I still badly need to see this show. I should note I have only heard four tracks (five now) from the anime. And Blue, the ending for what I believe is the last episode, surpasses this by a mile because it is that amazing. But I didn't want to risk spoiling myself to post it, so I went with the general ending. I have to say that this song is also quite good. One listen and I'm attached. It helps that the song seems to fit what I've heard of the anime. When it comes to its animation, it is excellent for this piece's atmosphere. I love the black and white drawings for this ending song. Just as wonderful as I would have expected. The Real Folk Blues - Cowboy Bebop: Full Version It's too late to cry I love you. The wind still blowing, my heart still aching One side of my eyes see tomorrow, And the other one see yesterday I hope I could sleep in the cradle of your love, again Cry for me, somebody, with dry eyes The real folk blues I just want to feel a real sorrow It's not bad a life in the muddy river If life is once Hopeless hope, and the chance with traps What is right, or wrong It's like a both side of a coin How long I must live till I release? The real folk blues I just want to feel a real pleasure All that glitters is not gold The real folk blues I just want to feel a real sorrow It's not bad a life in the muddy river If life is once --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | Uragiri no Yuuyake - Durarara!!: First Opening What the heck is this anime? I have no idea. All I know is that a close friend of mine has been vowing that one day she will get me to watch it. She really likes it, and her taste is pretty good, so I want to check it out at some point. This is an opening I really like for one main reason. Several characters are shown and each has a still shot with what I believe is their name. Since I can't read any sort of Japanese writing I have no way of guaranteeing that, but if that is what it is, I approve. I always like seeing openings where it focuses on a lot of the cast rather than just the main character/s. That said, there were enough parts that seemed innocent (boyfriend and girlfriend together, guy throwing another guy some soda), but then you have totally wacky parts. Girl in tight leather suit with a helmet that has CAT EARS? And a scythe if I saw the ending correctly? Oh and excuse me did that one guy just rip something out of the ground to throw at another guy? What DID he just rip out? Why? Who cares, it's the kind of random insanity I can get behind! Let me at it! Oh, and as for the song itself, it's all right. I'm not exactly attached to it, but I wouldn't mind listening to it again. Not sure just how much the lyrics apply either. Uragiri no Yuuyake (Treacherous Sunset) - Durarara!!: Full Version A treacherous sunset Make sure you slash through This bothersome, entwining sweat The machine shouts as if singing Blow up louder The silent fairy is there Blow up louder Your payment will be pieces of broken love Ah, the morning sun rises Shining between the buildings If you believe, this meaningful dream Will change There are no travelers anymore Every day is like d |

| Level: 41 New Moderator | have you told her about your record with this stuff <_< Nah, I didn't want to depress her. >_> Nanka Shiawase - Flame of Recca: Opening Flame of Recca is an anime that I know nothing about, nor have ever heard of any of my friends watching. However, I have seen it posted in a ton of trope pages. This made the name familiar to me, despite being ignorant on precisely what it is. The art and general action sort of reminds me of Yu Yu Hakusho. It is a neat opening in that it shows a variety of characters fighting one another. Just from the opening, I would guess it's a fight-centered anime that would be fun to marathon at some point. The song is also pretty catchy, which works well for this sort of an opening. Some things strike me as awkward though. Why is Frankenstein's Monster looming over one fight scene? And what's with the heads going back and changing each time? Even if they have meanings in the anime, they feel strange. Oh well, it's enough to catch my interest. Note that this was the only opening I could find, but animelyrics seemed to believe there were two... that they did not label as the first or second. Thanks guys. I just put it as 'opening' for the moment. Nanka Shiawase (What Happiness) - Flame of Recca: Full Version Wake up, get up, check the schedule Sometimes brings a smile and good feeling Love or dreams or logic never have the answers So let's just walk as if flipping a coin A kind of happiness, a brief happiness When it is felt, that's the start of happiness Kind of moving, Born for moving The first step makes everything move again The news shouts out that the world is dangerous Sometimes nothing can be done but shed tears Unexpected rain burns the heart into depression I let one of your lies be leaked out A kind of sigh, revival sigh Merely the punchline in which existence rolls It might be kind of useless, Maybe completely useless A life with unseen effects is not progressing... Surely, depending upon myself, wonderful things will be assured I'll see them in the wind that will come tomorrow A kind of happiness, a brief happiness When it is felt, that's the start of happiness Kind of moving, Born for moving The first step makes everything move again --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | For Fruits Basket - Fruits Basket: Opening Japanese - English - I've been recommended to read the manga rather than watch the anime of Fruits Basket. That's never stopped me from checking out an opening though. Oddly, it seems there is a Japanese and English version of this opening. But when it comes to a full song, I could only find an official Japanese one. I like it a bit more than the English one, but it's strange. I got the impression there was a lot of comedy moments in Fruits Basket, so this song really caught me off guard. It's beautiful, much more beautiful than I would have expected. I would gladly listen to this outside of the opening. The animation is also interesting. Rather than showing close ups of the characters, it shows distant shots of them watching time go by. It's far prettier than one might think. I have to say, it impressed me. For Fruits Basket - Fruits Basket: Full Version I was so happy, you were laughing With a smile that melts everything away Spring is still far away, inside the cold earth, Waiting for the time to sprout For instance, even if today is painful And yesterday's wounds remain I want to believe that I can free my heart and go on I cannot be reborn But I can change as I go on, so Let's stay together always Smile only at me and touch me with those fingers This simple desire is everlasting I want things to be simple Let's finally get across this sea of mournful sorrow For instance, even if today is painful Someday it will become a warm memory If you leave everything up to your heart I understand the meaning our living here It is to know the joy of having been born Let's stay together always For instance, even if today is painful Someday it will become a warm memory If you leave everything up to your heart I understand the meaning our living here It is to know the joy of having been born Let's stay together always --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 41 New Moderator | As I said in the video game topic, was sick until yesterday, so... September 25th: Shell - Witch Hunter Robin: Opening My anime club teacher said this when putting on the first episode of this series: "There is nothing that can clear out a room as quickly as putting on an episode of Witch Hunter Robin." Despite the opinion many people hold of it being incredibly dull, he liked the series, and I found the first episode interesting. It was enough to keep it in mind for future viewing. The opening is neat in my opinion. It only shows two characters, with the title character Robin being the most frequent, but from the first episode I really didn't see who else was important. If anyone else deserves to be there, I'm not sure yet. The scenes with the old television are strange, but they seem oddly fitting. I also really like the song, it's something I'd listen to multiple times. The lyrics are rather grim, but again, that seems fitting for this series. Shell - Witch Hunter Robin: Full Version It's like I'll disappear as soon as I close my eyes I feel like I've turned into someone that even I don't recognize Sadly, I've become so small I want to be rescued, but instead of sighing I vomited up my loneliness, and just lay there, measuring it all up Amidst this drop of time gone dry My heart is drowning and writhing These lies that make me dizzy I took them and tore them up And with that, I became lost In a world of thin darkness. For the sake of those whom I should trust I chose to come here, a cage into which I've locked myself, and now there's no escape. Deep inside my parched throat Lies the reason for this growing impermanence Scared of the approaching tomorrow I cower and collapse But it seeks me out and whispers to me This voice of thin darkness Amidst this drop of time gone dry My heart is drowning and writhing These lies that make me dizzy I took them and tore them up And with that, I became lost In a world of thin darkness. --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... Take it back!"-Id, Xenogears |

| Level: 41 New Moderator | September 26th: Kazahane - H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~: Ending I honestly had never heard of this anime until tonight. I was listening to the Bokurano opening (I like it enough to have it favorited for listening) when I caught sight of the full ending for this on the related videos list. So I clicked it out of curiosity. Watching the ending didn't explain anything about the anime to me, but it is one of the prettiest endings I have seen and heard. The sleeping girls shown give a great sensation of peace, and the pinwheel left with two of them only adds to it in my mind. It all seems so innocent and nice. But even moreso than that, the song is beautiful. I love the wind instruments in the background, and the singer compliments them well. Great, great song and I plan on listening to it a lot more. I may have to investigate this anime to see if it's up my alley. Kazahane (Wind Wings) - H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~: Full Version I stood still on the hill that dusk dyed Alone, I gazed at the stretching shadows In this world fleeting enough to be heartless Wishes spill again While I turned my eyes away From the liar in me Stubborn as I became What were the things that I would protect? | Level: 41 New Moderator | Sora-iro Deizu - Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann: First Opening First Version - Second Version - It looks like there is more than one opening to this, which is why I put first. Like Code Geass, there is a change in the animation of the opening some episodes in but not the song, hence the two versions. TTGL (I refuse to spell it out every time) is one of my highest on the list of animes I need to see, and these openings only enforced that. Good animation, good action, good hints to draw a viewer in. Both of them look great, though the second lacks Kamina for some reason. I assume it's intentional, but I thought he was an important main character. Guess I'll have to watch and find out. On top of that, the song's really nice. It goes seamlessly with the animation and is great to listen to on its own. Time for me to kick reason to the curb and make time to watch this! Sora-iro Deizu (Sky Blue Days) - Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann: Full Version Can you hear it? This voice of mine was sucked emptily into darkness If the world has meaning to it, Then these kinds of feelings aren't futile I was crushed by my longing and had given up Without even knowing the color of the endless sky I began to run, because my feelings, even now, Are definitely beating against my heart The me of today will continue towards our destination We'll amass our own tomorrows The answer, yes, is always right here I don't have the time to lament the seasons that have passed So that I won't ever waver again With countless, tiny little Regrets carried in my arms I've come this far, having chased only after your back It's something only I, who sought you, can do Those words you gave me that day, even now, Definitely reach my heart I've realized my reason for having been born Today more than I did yesterday The answer, yes, is always right here It was as if everything was completely natural Our precious days haven't ended yet, and then, again I began to run, because my feelings, even now, Are definitely beating against my heart The me of today will continue towards our destination We'll amass our own tomorrows The answer, yes, is always right here --- "That was pretty interesting. | Level: 43 Editor | Oh hey there OPs I've actually seen. I'm totally late on commenting on them, but what the hell. Shell is great. It's one of those rare OPs where I'm not in love with the song and the animation is decidedly average, but they work together so that it ends up being one of my favorites. Sorairo Days (the first version) is even better! Love the song, especially the full version. The animation I can take or leave, but eh, it works well enough to introduce the cast if nothing else. (Incidentally, I watched about 15 episodes of Gurren Lagann and then went "ehhhhhh" and never touched it again. So, make of that what you will!) --- "There's a pony in the shop, but don't buy it. | Level: 41 New Moderator | Hey guys bet you thought this was dead! ...Well okay it was but I am reviving it for at least a little while since I have more material and stuff! But mainly so I can post this. Gun's & Roses - Baccano!: Opening So I saw Baccano! a few days ago. It is amazing and I love it. It also has one of the best openings I have seen yet! Keep in mind I say this when it is, of all things, a jazz track. Yes. Me, the hater of most saxophone things on this planet, somehow wound up loving this. The track works perfectly for the atmosphere of the anime, and it is just catchy. But what impresses me the most is the transitions. Oh my gosh, those transitions are so beautiful. Maybe I am being over appreciative after my screenwriting class, but still, they look fantastic. I also enjoy that they label all the characters since it can be difficult at first to remember who is named. My one question is why Rachel got left out. Come on guys, Rachel did more than flipping Lua, why did she get named? Some notes before anyone asks about them. 1.) Thankfully they spell out Firo's name, or else I would have just thought of him as "Fearow" the entire time. 2.) Is it just me or is the name Luck awesome? 3.) Congratulations to Ennis for being the only character without a last name. 4.) Nice's name, in this case, is pronounced "Neece." 5.) Yes, you read it right, that guy's name is Jacuzzi Splot. He is surprisingly awesome in spite of his terrible name. Another interesting thing is in most episodes, the section right before Nice shows up has a bunch of clips from the previous episodes that are valid or important to the one coming up. It is pretty useful. Gun's & Roses - Baccano!: Full Version No vocals to post, which makes it even more impressive I liked this so much. So yeah go watch Baccano! if you feel like seeing a good anime. --- "That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating... Take it back!"-Id, Xenogears |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | So yeah go watch Baccano! if you feel like seeing a good anime. I'm too busy watching Fate/Zero, which is pretty much the greatest anime of all time. With only Evangelion as competition, and Steins;Gate the only other one in contention! --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | So I saw this topic two years ago and I was like "I'll comment on this later" and now hey, look, it's later! I'll add links to posts I quote so that you know what I'm talking about. [From #115431] This is my personal favorite anime opening out of all of the ones I've seen. It just fits the premise so well and sets the perfect mood. When I first started Serial Experiments Lain, I was a bit skeptical since I knew nothing about it at the time. Then I saw the opening and was dedicated to finishing it from that point on. It took quite a bit of time to actually do so, but I never gave up on doing it. Lain has perhaps the most fitting song choice among anything I've seen, specifically in the way it nails the mood. It's as if Duvet was composed specifically for the show. [From #115592] I'm not sure it fits Evangelion that much On the contrary, I think it fits perfectly. One of the twists in Evangelion is that Shinji and co. are pawns with essentially no control over anything in their lives, up to and including control over the Evas. The theme is another form of misdirection in a show full of it. [From #115624] ...Now I'm trying to remember what caused me to start watching anime. I watched Pokemon, YGO, and Digimon when I was younger, but those are pretty awful, and all of them were run through the 4Kids death filter before they got to me. I also saw a few episodes of .hack//SIGN and Vision of Escaflowne (but not Card Captors). I liked those a lot, however once they went off the air here I didn't know where to find them and was too busy playing with my Pokemon cards to find out. The, um, anime seed that blossomed when I moved to Seattle was planted during that time, though. I knew a guy when I was ten-ish who liked Evangelion a lot, which is how I remembered what it was and asked you guys if I should watch it. Then I watched a bunch of anime! So for me, the cause is all around us, man. [From #116430] And I've never heard Kawaita Sakebi so I can't compare that. In case you haven't gotten a chance to see this since July 2010, here it is. I agree with Kenri that this is the best Yu-Gi-Oh theme. I know of its existence entirely because of YGOTAS. Here are some lyrics! The most interesting part about this for me is the furigana for the lyrics in the opening sequence. Wild Drive also uses furigana, as well as roman characters instead of katakana. You know you're watching a show aimed at children when... If someone actually finds the opening on Youtube, feel free to put up a link to it. Here you go. It was uploaded a few months after your post. But it has some really cool details when looking at it... And the section with Johann is great for portraying him (kid who is in front of the window). I appreciate the use of a bunch of random scenes from way late in the series, in particular: the wine glass, the look at Prague from a moving vehicle, Klaus Poppe's hand ominously reaching out to you, his unsatisfactory drawings of the twins, and the Three Frogs sign. I also agree that Johan's portrayal is well done. It's even in 511 Kinderheim! So much foreshadowing! The art is fine, but... bleeeeh the songs. I agree that the lyrics are terrible, but I think the art pairs up well with the music, in the sense that both are really creepy. [From #115767] If you go in expecting Haruhi to be a serious anime, fine tune your thinking. It's a bunch of Japanese humor crammed into a colorful cartoon. This isn't really the case for Disappearance. The movie departs considerably from the tone of the series. the opening captures the feeling of 90% of the anime It lacks Haruhi sexually abusing Mikuru, though, and that's like 50% of every episode. why is Kyon's sister there? She was in like three episodes and the movie. She is clearly a main character. *Would probably be mobbed to death if I said that anywhere else* If there's ever a TFN Meet-up, we must all do the Hare Hare Yukai dance. IT MUST BE DONE. (There will never be a TFN Meet-up.) And now for my contribution to this topic! Aoi Shiori (青い栞) - Anohana Opening Dubbed Opening Sequence (MUTE THIS OH GOD) Original Song Featuring Weird Opening Sequence Secret Base - Anohana Closing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZCTtG3kvj8 I was unable to find the opening sequence with the original song, so I give you the opening with fandubbed vocals you should not subject yourself to as well as an opening with pictures of real-life Japan thrown in there for some reason. The full version below is probably not the original full version, but YouTube is blocking these constantly so it's hard to find originals and some of these videos are likely not long for this world. Anyway, lyrics aside (though the lyrics are pretty apt as well), the opening sequence is very appropriate. For those of you who haven't seen this, the show is about a group of childhood friends who drift apart after one of the members dies in an accident, and the story takes place when she comes back as a ghost. The opening expresses both the relationship between the ghost (the girl in white) and the rest of the characters as well as the underlying conflict the living still have with their childhood memories. The closing song is a cover of another Japanese song by the voice actors of the three main female characters. Aside from the flower theme, the sequence doesn't really have any connection to the story. The lyrics, on the other hand... This is my favorite anime. It caused me to cry a lot, particularly the last episode, whose ending felt interminable. In fact, I tear up whenever I watch the opening sequence. I am secure in my masculinity. Opening Full Version Closing Full Version Opening Lyrics Our feelings have been written down over countless pages, But for some reason, I just can't fill in this one line of blank space. I put in a pressed flower as a bookmark and roll along with you on the bike we found thrown away. We piled up the bricks we've forgotten and then tore them back down. We're being pulled to the same level, to be equals. All tired out from having fun I'm sure that we won't remember the frighteningly blue sky. In that way, a bundle of sunlight now pushes in my direction. The two of you are still right there, but I find myself praying that we can meet again. There must be something wrong with me. My hand that turns to the next page, and the misanga I fastened with my lips... Hey, today is today, and that won't change; if it rains, we can still talk on the phone. In that way, I now push (Before I knew it, the misanga came off,) My kindness in your direction. (But for some reason, I can't say it.) There really must be something wrong with me. If you choose any one, it will break with a sound - That is what love is, I joked, and you laughed. Good thing, I made it on time. Deciding to pretend not to know, the city went to sleep. Let's go to the place where we piled the bricks we've forgotten. Running up the hill that looks out over the sea, under the frighteningly blue sky, My right hand holds a soda, and my left hand is always searching for you. In that way, with my two occupied arms, I embrace the spring wind. Time is still ours to spend, so I'd love it if you wouldn't say That we'll forget this day someday. In that way, the present comes toward me without asking me any questions. I suppose the two of you are still right there. "Oh, right, the words to fill in the blank are-" No, I won't say it just yet. My hand that turns to the next page, and the misanga I untied with my lips... The first train of the day, and a sparse bit of happiness... Hey, today is today, and that won't change. There really must be something wrong with me. ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |
