Also, I underestimated how much more time the writeups are adding to this.

Ain't that the truth.

God, it's annoying.

--

even though it was guy who died this time, it was a team effort.

Teamwork: Share victory. Share defeat.

<_<

--

I really should stop. The quality of my play has dropped off the map by now.

Pffft. The key to Fire Emblem is getting so frustrated that you try a crazy insane strategy that you'd have never even considered if you were thinking clearly!

--

hahahaha that enemy thief is so pro.

this needs some context. I haven't been saying it because it hasn't been noteworthy, but an enemy thief opens a door on the front right side of the room you're guarding. Every other time, he's opened the door, then run away, presumably towards the treasures Matthew is in the middle of taking, or if they're already gone, it just flat out leaves the map. This time though? He charges the undefended throne. He was a square short, but oh man, that was a surprise. Rebecca (1 HP, part of a Save Erk operation) and Erk got him.

XD

[insert "the enemy gate is down" reference here]

well this could get kind of tough. looks like i'll need to use that
Deployment (10/10): Hector, Guy, Serra, Lyn, Eliwood, Matthew, Oswin, Marcus, Erk, Priscilla.

Florina is staying benched because so many archers and nomad troopers. Erk comes in her place. Priscilla is obviously here to recruit Raven.

It also occurs to me that last chapter I forgot to mention I bought stuff from the shops. I don't remember what exactly, but I think it was basically just more weapons. I'm down to 520 Gold at any rate.

Eliwood levels. HP, SKL, DEF.
Guy levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD. A- level. No complaints.

...Merlinus/Marcus Support? why not.
Merlinus/Marcus C Support.

...Raven's not moving, which is concerning me, I don't think I can get there before he annihilates the Caelin guards. I thought he was mobile in Hector Mode, so it figures the one guy I want mobile is now staying still. Unless he only starts moving when you get close enough.

Now Raven is moving... but a Thief just spawned too, so this could get annoying. No way I beat him to the North chests... I wonder, if I leave the south ones up, maybe I can get him to come down and have Matthew ambush him and take everything back.

...I'm going to see if that works, but I have a bad feeling it won't, so I anticipate a restart based on that coming.

*Looks at Thief next turn*

A KILLING EDGE?

Threat Level:
1. That thief.
2. Everyone else.

Hector levels. HP. *sigh*
Oswin levels. HP, SPD, Luck, DEF.

Looks like the Thief is just going to flee the map, plus the Caelin soldiers are about to get owned, I just want to see it become official before restarting.

Raven levels. STR, Luck, RES.

Yep, Thief fled, and a Caelin soldier was lost.

Well, that means I have to go crazy offense to get to the top of the map by ~Turn 7 or 8.

Restart.

Equipping Marcus. He's the one who can rush faster than anyone, so he'll need something to stop the Thief and everything else in the way.

Eliwood levels. HP, SPD, RES. I think.
Guy levels. HP, SKL, SPD.

...Probably going to have to restart because Marcus can't double or OHKO nomad troopers. *sigh*

Marcus levels. HP. classic marcuswood

lol marcus is going to be attacked by raven because of this delay. incoming hilarity. i still don't think i'll reach the thief in time.

XDXDXD

marcus is going to ruin this. he's at 1 hp after everyone attacked him. nomad troopers choosing not to attack my main army in favor of marcus?

it's more likely than you think.

well the thief was downed at least.

lol marcus is so screwed.

classic marcuswood gettin owned by an archer.

restart.

Trading Marcus a more-than-5-use-Hand-Axe, so maybe he'll fare better against the million archers.

Eliwood levels. STR. DEF.
Guy levels. HP, SPD.

...Didn't see Serra dying coming. I actually blame Matthew though, because if he hadn't jobbed to arrows the turn before, Serra wouldn't even be there.

restart.

This is starting to feel like Chapter 15 Part II - Where the mission objective is trivial, but the conditions I'm adding on to it make it terrible.

Eliwood levels. HP, SKL, DEF.
Guy levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD.
Marcus levels. HP.

Going to lose Marcus again, I think... what a terrible unit.

yep.

restart.

Eliwood levels. HP, SPD, Luck.

*sigh*

i can just see the imminent collapse after this total jobbing of a turn 1 player phase. i should save myself the time and restart right now.

thank you for that matthew.

restart.

Eliwood levels. HP, SKL, Luck.
Guy levels. HP, STR, SKL, RES.

eliwood eliwood'ing it up by jobbing to 3 straight arrows going to 1 hp.

DAT MARCUS

OUT CLASSICWOOD'ING CLASSICWOOD

MISSING ON 84 DISPLAYED HIT BOTH TIMES ON A DOUBLE ATTACK.

Marcus levels. HP SKL

SO THERE I WAS BEING MARCUS

AND I WAS TOLD TO JUST KILL SOME NOMADS AND ARCHERS.

AND I WAS LIKE "**** THAT I'M MARCUS"

AND I LET MYSELF GET HIT BY EVERY ATTACK AIMED AT ME.

I LOVE MY LIFE.

restart.

Eliwood levels. HP, SKL, DEF.
Guy levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD.
Marcus levels. HP, SKL.

...Probably just lost the most promising run yet because Hector missed on a Hand Axe against a Nomad. It was like 63 Displayed True Hit, so I knew it was was quite possible, but still it's so disappointing.

DON'T STOP. BELIIIIIIIEVIIIIING!

i think i've got a real chance now. marcus has killed the thief, has decent hp right now, rest of the army only like two turns away, so they can help him soon.

...prepare for someone else to mess up.

take no chances. oswin using DAT HORSESLAYER to protect merlinus.

Matthew levels. HP, SKL, Luck.
Oswin levels. STR, DEF.

All chests gotten now, all Caelin Soldiers rescued and well away from any enemies whatsoever. lets do this.

Guy levels. HP, STR, SKL.
Serra levels. MAG, RES.
Hector levels. HP, SKL, Luck, DEF, RES. everything but strength and speed? *sigh*
Raven levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD, Luck. aww yeah.

Just the boss left.

Lyn crits him with the Mani Katti.

Lyn levels. HP, SKL, Luck.

Victory.

Yeah, that was definitely Chapter 15 Part II.

Deployment (6/6): Hector, Guy, Serra, Raven, Lyn, Matthew.

Only 6 units? how fun.

Fargus breaking the Berserker HP Cap at 61 HP, I see.

Lyn/Hector A Support.
Recruited Canas. who is going to be staying far, far away from the enemy.

Lyn levels. SKL, SPD, DEF, RES.

However, that level came at the cost of her getting smacked by a pirate with a Swordslayer, so I have a feeling a reset is coming because the Black Fang arrives on Turn 2 and is mobile.

My defensive set-up was Lyn blocking the north path, Hector blocking the south. Serra was hanging sort of close to Hector (Supports) with Guy and Matthew hanging back sort of close to Lyn ready to step in if needed. Raven was going on a solo mission north to clear it out.

Raven levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD.

Boss charged Lyn, switching her to Mani Katti to give her a chance (Serra moved to back her up)

Guy now blocking the last remaining entrance to the start area (south), with Matthew with him for supports.

...But oh wait, they can get Merlinus. This'll be fun.

Lyn crits the boss on a counter.

Lyn levels. HP, STR, SKL, RES - I think.

Guy defeats the Nomand that attacked Merlinus.

Hector levels. HP, STR, SKL, DEF.

Everyone but the guys that attack when you cross the line have been defeated. I'm getting Raven back to the group and then I'll face them.

Serra levels. HP, MAG, SKL, DEF, RES.

Lyn levels. STR.

Taking a risk here. Had Canas move up to defeat a 1 HP Pirate because I absolutely need to defeat that archer with the Killer Bow, and that was the only safe way to do it.

Just the mage and shaman left. Unfortunately, they scare me more than most units ever could.

owned shaman owned.

Okay, unless something crazy like mobile Dart or Fargus happens, I've won and just need to go visit some houses and maybe use the shop.

...let's heal just in case.

Bought one Heal Staff.

Victory.

...This may have been one of, if not the, easiest chapter yet.

Deployment (8/8): Hector, Guy, Serra, Raven, Lyn, Eliwood, Matthew, Florina.

I have some misgivings about taking Florina here over Oswin. Oswin has practically forced his way onto the team lately, whereas Florina was only fielded in Chapter 16 where she just starts there automatically. Thankfully she's already Level 12 though.

Well, taking a look from the preparation screen, a Peg Knight near the start location has an Elysian Whip, and the Boss has a Guiding Ring. I must get both of those.

Bought 4 Iron Swords and another Heal Staff. I now have 7 Gold. Coincidentally, I sold a one use Hand Axe before the chapter started... for 7 Gold.

Post-Turn 1 Enemy Phase First Reaction: oh my god how did i survive that
Post-Turn 1 Enemy Phase Second Reaction: oh my god how am i going to survive

Matthew steals the Elysian Whip.
Florina levels. STR, SKL, SPD, Luck.
Raven levels. STR, Luck, DEF.
Eliwood levels. All but SKL.
Guy levels. HP, SPD, DEF.

CLASSICWOOD STRIKES AGAIN!

Jobbing to those Peg Knights like a pro.

(I really thought I was going to escape even with a 2 HP Raven for a moment there and couldn't believe my luck.

i forget classicwood is on my team.

restart.

Bought the same items.
Stole Elysian Whip.
Florina levels. SPD, RES.
Raven levels. HP, STR, SKL.
Eliwood levels. HP, SKL, Luck.

damn you eliwood.

restart.

i leave eliwood by the front of the ship by merlinus and all of a sudden now raven jobs damnit.

restart.

At least we made it past Turn 1!
Stole Elysian Whip.
Florina levels. STR, SPD, Luck, RES.
Eliwood levels. STR, RES.
Lyn levels. HP, STR.

Turn 2 survived!

Guy levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD.
Raven levels. HP, STR, SPD.

and then the mercenary told florina "no florina you are the classicwood" and then florina was classicwood. and dead.

restart.

Bought 4 Iron Swords.

Turn 1 Survived.

Stole Elysian Whip.
Florina levels. Just HP. augh.
Eliwood levels. HP, STR, SKL.
Raven levels. Just HP. ...damnit.
Lyn levels. HP, STR, Luck.

Turn 2 survived.

If I can make it past Turn 3, I think I'm in fairly good shape. For context, the first three turns, especially Turns 1 and 2, I'm basically forced to fight at the very front of the start ship because you are just swarmed by so many enemies. More than I can realistically defend against. I absolutely need dodges or else I'm screwed. Hence the losses before. But after Turn 3, it looks like I have the main ship mostly clear.

Turn 3 survived!

*Sees 5 Peg Knight reinforcements along with the others on the ships*

ahahahahahaha d/flgfdjkbgbn

Okay, okay, we can still handle this.

Guy levels. HP, SPD, RES.
Raven levels. HP, SPD, Luck.

Turn 5 survived.

Guy and Matthew are basically mounting an assault on the Boss Ship, although Florina is helping out now. Hector and Lyn are staying in support range at all times and are basically at the right ship. Raven is there too, but he's on the upper side of it, while Hector/Lyn are at the bottom end. Classicwood is by the bottom of the main ship. which will be swarmed soon. Serra is just running around everyone trying to heal everyone.

Hector levels. HP, SKL, Luck, DEF.

Turn 6 survived.

Serra levels. Just HP. =(

Turn 7 survived.

Matthew steals the boss's Guiding Ring, Florina rescues him.

Turn 8 survived.
Turn 9 survived.

Matthew levels. Just Luck. ...

Moved Guy next to the boss so he could attack on the counter. 10% Crit Chance against Guy.

Instead, Guy makes his 15% (I think) chance, and kills the boss. One turn early, but I'll take it.

Guy levels. HP, SKL, RES. ...can i have that back actually?

*sigh*

...victory.
Deployment (9/12): Hector, Guy, Serra, Raven, Lyn, Eliwood, Matthew, Florina, Oswin.

Fog of War. How great.

dat fog of war

dart killed turn 1 lololol

Okay, now that I know the right side of the map is just stacked, let's try again.

...Raven goes down because I clearly do not comprehend how stacked the right side is yet. I should just send Matthew over there with a torch to get a look and restart.

restart.

i'm sorry raven. that was on me. i didn't realize they were stacked IN EVERY SINGLE DIRECTION.

...

...

what to do.

Current strategy: Raven and Oswin are holding the south. Guy and Matthew are holding the Southeast. Hector and Lyn are holding the east. Classicwood is going to attempt to defend Merlinus. Serra is currently South/Southeast. Florina is kind of just waiting for Fiora.

Turn 2 survived.

Status Report:
Southeast Barricade breached. (All snags are down and they're now pouring in.)
Enemy Infiltration in the South (Two Peg Knights flew right by Raven and Oswin at Merlinus)

ALERT! UNKNOWN SIGNATURE APPROACHING FROM THE NORTH! IT'S A GUNDAM! ENEMY INFILTRATOR ANNIHILATED! (Fiora showed up and wiped out one of those aforementioned Peg Knights on the Turn 2 Neutral Phase)

Fiora recruited.

South secured!
Southeast Corridor retaken!

Turn 3 survived.

South and East sectors under heavy fire!

Raven levels. Just HP. .......

Eliwood levels. HP, Luck.
Lyn levels. HP, STR, SPD. i almost forgot str was a stat it has felt so long.

Turn 7: Invasion Force has commenced.

Guy levels. Just HP. trolling.
Matthew levels. Just HP. are you kidding me.

Turn 11, down to just Uhai. (Actually, I think I managed that last turn, but I have headphones on and am not listening to the game music so I couldn't confirm when exactly the map music changed.)

Invasion Force converging to target.

Serra levels. MAG and RES. that seems like such a wonderful level compared to... to well everything else in like the last two chapters.

GUY! THE MOST CLUTCH MEMBER OF THIS TEAM! GOAT-LEVEL PERFORMANCE!

I send Hector at Uhai with Wolf Beil because even though Lyn can one round him with the Mani Katti, she's at Level 19, and Hector is at Level 16. Hector misses. I'm now thinking that Uhai is going pull out his Killing Edge and kill Hector, because I can't see taking out Uhai's 36 HP with only one unit.

enter the amazing guy

Killing Edge. Double Critical.

yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Guy levels. Luck, RES. the only bad thing guy did in that sequence.
Deployment (8/8): Hector, Guy, Serra, Raven, Fiora, Lyn, Eliwood, Matthew.

Boss has the Silver Card. This is maximum priority.
Also, keep in mind Kishuna flees. And on like Turn 13 or something, so all-out offense is a must, I think.

Fiora levels. HP, SPD, DEF.
Raven levels. Just HP. wtf raven.

Kishuna has shown up.
Fiora turned on clutch and survived with 1 HP after fighting some enemy Peg Knights.

Fiora levels. HP, SKL, SPD, RES.
Hector levels. HP, SPD, Luck.

...Well, I'm probably going to have abandon Merlinus. This seems to be too early for Fiora to handle solo.

Silver Card get.

...I think Merlinus has dodged 7 straight mage attacks. If I weren't so worried about Kishuna I could probably rescue him!

Raven levels. Just SKL. is this even possible.
After that streak of dodges, Merlinus jobs completely in one turn and is defeated.

Eliwood defeats the boss (Guy was fighting him, but I'm on Turn 12 and need Guy closer to Kishuna.

Eliwood levels. HP, SKL, SPD, Luck.
Lyn levels. HP, STR, SPD, Luck. Lyn is now at Level 20 Unpromoted. Wouldn't have given her that kill, but again, Kishuna. Time limits.

Turn 13. Commencing Kishuna attack.
Kishuna HP Count: 51.

wonderful start.

Lyn crits with Mani Katti for 42 Damage. Kishuna at 9 HP now. It will take epic jobbing for this team to mess it up now.

ARE THEY UP FOR THAT CHALLENGE!?
Kishuna HP Count: 9.

Raven hits for 4 and levels. HP, STR, SPD.

Kishuna HP Count: 5.

Guy criticals with the Killing Edge (Iron Sword did 4, and I didn't trust leaving my fate in the hands of Fiora and Matthew when Killing Edge had a 80% Displayed Hit.) Kishuna defeated.

Now, an interesting prospect lies before me. I could seize right now, but there are currently 9 Mages advancing on me from behind. That's EXP! ...but 9 mages... can my army even survive such power?

...let's see.

Sending Fiora over the mountains again to flank them.
Serra levels. MAG, SKL, SPD, RES.

Ahahahahaha. Fiora the best.

The enemy has noticed her flanking maneuver and sent 6 Mages back at her, 2 continuing towards the main army, and 1 in the middle of the two groups apparently unsure of what to do (this is the one who Fiora injured earlier, perhaps her return has struck such fear into his heart he can not move.)

I send Fiora back over the mountains to troll the group that pursued her.

Hector levels. HP, STR, SKL.
Matthew levels. Just SKL. Matthew reaches Level 20.
Fiora levels. HP, SKL, DEF, RES.
Guy levels. Just HP. .....

All enemies defeated, just going to grind Eliwood/Fiora Support.
Eliwood/Fiora C Support.

...you know, losing Merlinus just doesn't sit well with me. it feels too casual.

restart (I did put a save in a different slot though for the first time so I can abandon this if Kishuna starts mega trolling me)

Fiora levels. HP, STR, SKL.
Fiora was literally too pro this time. Critical a Peg Knight which allowed her to get attacked too many times.

restart

Fiora levels. HP, SKL. *sigh* why did str go away that time.
Fiora such a pro she did it again.

restart

Fiora levels. SKL, SPD.
...Okay this is getting too predictable. I'll stop doing that. But it worked the first time so, I wonder what the hell happened here.

restart.

Raven levels. HP, STR, SKL, DEF
...Fiora how do you get hit by Nosferatu?

restart.

Raven levels. HP, SPD. ...............
Fiora levels. SKL, RES. ..............

Kishuna shows up.

Hector levels. HP, STR, SKL, DEF.

Stole Silver Card.
Matthew levels from that. HP, DEF. Matthew at Level 20.
Fiora levels. HP, STR, Luck, RES.
Eliwood levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD, Luck. ...why does Eliwood get these levels and not the useful characters?
Hector levels. HP, SKL.
Guy defeats the boss and levels. Just HP. ...
Fiora levels. HP, STR, Luck.

Okay. Time to commence Operation: Defeat Kishuna.
Kishuna HP: 53/53.
Lyn hits for 12 with the Mani Katti.
Kishuna HP: 41/53.
Hector misses with the Silver Axe. well. this doesn't look good.
Guy crits with the Killing Edge for 21.
Kishuna HP: 20/51.
Matthew hits for 13 with the Silver Sword.
Kishuna HP: 7/53.
Raven misses with the Killing Edge (would have hit for 7)
lol mission failure.

restart.

Raven levels. HP, STR, SKL, Luck.
Fiora levels. SKL, DEF, RES.
Hector levels. HP, STR, SKL, DEF.
Stole Silver Card.
Fiora levels. HP, SPD, DEF, RES.
Matthew levels. Just HP. ... Matthew at Level 20.
Lyn levels. SPD, Luck. ......... Lyn at level 20.
Eliwood levels. HP, SKL, DEF.
Guy defeats the boss and levels. SKL, Luck. ...................
Hector levels. HP, SPD. that seems absolutely amazing compared to the rest of this.
Fiora levels. SKL, Luck, DEF, RES. ...well Fiora is becoming a tank or something at least.

Okay, let's try this again. Operation: Defeat Kishuna.
Kishuna's HP: 52/52.
Lyn hits with Mani Katti for 13.
Kishuna's HP: 39/52.
Hector misses with the Silver Axe. augh.
Guy hits with the Killer Edge for 8. well this won't work will it.
Kishuna's HP: 31/52.
Matthew hits Kishuna for 15 with the Silver Sword.
Kishuna's HP: 16/52.
Raven hits with the Killing Edge for 9. lolololol

srfljkhrgl

restart.

Raven levels. STR, SPD.
Fiora levels. HP, SKL, SPD, RES.

Kishuna appears.

Hector levels. HP, STR, DEF.
Matthew levels. Just Luck. Matthew at Level 20.
Fiora levels. HP, STR, SPD, Luck.
Stole Silver Card.
Lyn levels. HP, STR, SPD.
Eliwood levels. HP, Luck, DEF.

Oh god, Raven is going to be at risk of dying if the last mage reinforcement can hit him.

Guy defeats the boss and levels. HP, STR.

yessssssssss Raven dodged.

Fiora levels. HP, SKL, RES.
Fiora levels again. HP, SKL.

Operation: Defeat Kishuna is back on.
Kishuna's HP: 52/52
Lyn crits with the Mani Katti! 39 damage!
Kishuna's HP: 13/52
Guy crits with the Killing Edge! 24 Damage!
Deployment (8/8): Hector, Guy, Serra, Raven, Fiora, Lyn, Eliwood, Matthew.

I forgot to mention it, but Lyn reached Level 20 in 19x. Well, actually, I did mention it at least once, but not in the final attempt. Anyway, she is still being deployed because honestly, that she isn't receiving EXP doesn't bug me too much. Obviously I'll try to avoid giving her kills and such, but she's too strong a unit for me to feel comfortable leaving behind.

Hmm, not liking the look of this already. I wanted Hector north, where I suspect most of the enemies will come, but he's the only one with range who I can take against archers and snipers, so he'll need to go south...

I send Matthew to steal a Thief's Chest Key.
Guy levels. HP, RES. =(

...

this game.

That Thief Matthew took the Chest Key from?

IT STOLE MATTHEW'S LOCKPICK

Another Thief took a Vulnerary from Guy.

And a Troubadour tried to use Sleep on Lyn.

i sense a restart coming soon.

HECTOR!
WHAT A BEAST!

Hand Axe with 35 Displayed Hit, hits and criticals the Thief who took the Lockpick (Matthew had stolen it back before, obviously)

Hector levels on that epic maneuver. HP, STR, SKL, Luck, DEF. what a beast.
Fiora/Eliwood B Support (Really should have done this Turn 1, but I wasn't thinking)

Matthew jobbing to arrows lololol

restart

Fiora/Eliwood B Support.
Realized I absolutely need to send Hector south to deal with that lockpick thief, so restarting to save myself some grief. (I kind of hoped Matthew could make a 20% Crit chance Turn 1 and make it a non issue, but alas.

restart.

Hector levels. HP, DEF.
*sigh*
Matthew's Lockpick stolen.
Lyn's Vulnerary stolen.
Lyn put to Sleep.
Raven levels. HP, STR, SKL, Luck.
Matthew regains Lockpick.
Hector still such a pro, gets Thief with a bad hit chance.

A Dragonshield was stolen... Not sure I can get there in time to get it back. I'll try though!

Guy levels. HP, SKL, Luck, RES.

Eclipse stolen.

Dragonshield retaken.
Eclipse retaken next turn, but it required putting Matthew in some serious trouble. Probably going to need luck now.

aww yeah matthew. trying to tank that mage was stupid, but at least you dodged the arrows for me.

Lyn finally awake again.

Guy and Matthew have retreated into the treasure room the Enemy Thief took to heal with their vulneraries while Our The Hector stands guard over them.

Fiora has been on a stealth mission the whole map actually. There's a chest to the far north that is only accessible to ground units by fighting their way through practically the whole map. However, from the start position, you can fly over the cliffs, and I gave her a door key and got her up there, she's currently watching the chest from a distance because I'm afraid of surprise Fog of War archers.

Hector levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD. yessssss hector
Serra levels. SKL, SPD, Luck, RES. Serra is now at Level 20.
Serra promotes.
Sent Eliwood to Merlinus to bring Serra a Light Tome.

...All of a sudden Teodor (the boss) has decided to unleash Eclipse on my army. Which is strange because with his crazy range he could have done this for a while. My guess is maybe because he's visible now (Matthew used a Torch on Player Phase.) or perhaps Matthew's prior dangerous move kept him just out of range, I'm not sure.

Raven levels. HP, STR, SPD. Awesome.

Matthew reveals a Thief close to the area Fiora is guarding, although technically with just a Door Key, he is not a threat. He is, however, in Fiora's range if she throws Javelins over a wall.

Teodor lands Eclipse on Hector, but Hector isn't a jobber and fights off some Wyverns anyway.

Fiora levels. STR, SPD, Luck, RES. yesssssss.

Matthew reveals two more Thieves, both very close to the chest Fiora is guarding, however, neither have keys of any kind or lockpicks. Which sounds to me like its free EXP for her!

Teodor fires Eclipse at Fiora but misses. He's at 2 Eclipse uses.

Fiora levels. HP, SKL, SPD, RES.
Teodor fires his last Eclipse on Fiora, misses again. He's left with Nosferatu.
Fiora defeats the second thief and the map theme change tells me only Teodor remains.
Matthew gets a Talisman from that last chest.

Fiora levels. Just HP. =(
Fiora defeats Teodor and levels. HP, SPD, RES.
Now just grinding more Fiora/Eliwood support.

victory

Deployment (10/12): Hector, Lyn, Eliwood, Guy, Serra, Raven, Fiora, Matthew, Oswin, Florina.

lolz. I forgot how many turns I needed to support grind Eliwood/Fiora last chapter so I'm about 10 turns short of the A-Rank. oh well.

Oswin levels. Everything but Speed. Too bad he's not really part of the team!
Eliwood levels. Just HP. classic eliwood.
Fiora/Eliwood A Support. Huh. Guess it was less than 10 turns then.
Eliwood levels. HP, SKL, Luck, RES.
Raven levels.HP, STR, Luck, DEF.
Fiora levels. HP, Luck.

Disaster may strike. I was counting on Legault to open the door by the boss, but he just ran by it. I can open it with Serra, but now I'm too far behind to catch up. Unless Legault and the Member Card Thief circle down for some other chest, at which point I can cut them off. Going to have to hope for that.

*sigh*

The Member Card Thief did as hoped, but Legault left the map.

restart.

Oswin. HP, Luck, DEF, RES.

Well, this will be fun. I have to put like half my army at risk to have a shot at getting Legault.

Well, recruited Legault, but let's see if I can get out of this mess. Because practically every front is an impending disaster area.

Oswin and Florina are by Merlinus, but I really should have benched Florina because she's useless. Raven is holding a room by himself, but sheer numbers are going to force him to retreat now. Guy and Matthew are assaulting the room where the Member Card Thief will go, in order to ambush him. Matthew's Sword broke so he's unarmed now.

Raven levels. HP, SKL, Luck, DEF.
Eliwood levels. HP, STR, SPD, Luck. ...not bad.
Serra levels. MAG, Luck.
Stole Member Card.
Fiora/Eliwood A Support.

I'm kind of attempting a roundabout retreat for my army. There's technically a path to Merlinus for a ton of enemy units if they were smart enough to see it.

Fiora levels. HP, SKL, RES.
Serra S-Ranks Staves.
Oswin levels. HP, STR, SKL.

The enemy has finally seemed to notice the path to Merlinus, but it'll take them a few turns to get there, and I already have Serra back, which means I should be good, because between Serra and Raven nothing should get by.

Things actually seem pretty under control so now I'm calling off the retreat. Serra and Raven will clear out the path to Merlinus. Oswin, Florina, and Legault will guard Merlinus, although I think all the spawns down there are gone now. Matthew is heading that way too for a treasure chest, but then he'll head north again. Lyn, Eliwood, and Fiora are practically the only units still north, and will hold it for now, Hector is on his way there also, as is Guy.

Guy levels. HP, STR, SKL.
Eliwood levels. SKL, RES.
Hector levels. HP, SPD, DEF. Hector is now at Level 20. (Also maxed DEF right there.)
Raven levels. HP, SPD, DEF.
Only the boss left now.
Eliwood defeats the boss and levels. STR, SKL, DEF, RES.

victory

I figure I'll give a status update on all my units right now. Along with some commentary.

Hector
Level 20 EXP --
HP: 37
STR: 15
SKL: 14
SPD: 12
Luck: 9
DEF: 20 (Max)
RES: 5
Weapon Rank(s): Axe - A
Support(s): Lyn - A, Serra - B

Comments: Hector is such a beast. Probably MVP of the team, sure I'd like to see him have more speed, but he is without question the best tank on the team.

Eliwood
Level 17 EXP 23
HP: 29
STR: 11
SKL: 13
SPD: 10
Luck: 15
DEF: 11
RES: 6
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - A
Support(s): Fiora - A

Comments: classic eliwood. He does nothing well. His primary use at this point is to give Support Bonuses to Fiora.

Lyn
Level 20 EXP --
HP: 39
STR: 18
SKL: 20 (Max)
SPD: 20 (Max)
Luck: 17
DEF: 6
RES: 5
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - A
Support(s): Hector - A

Comments: If Hector isn't MVP, then it probably has to go Lyn, those stats are flat-out absurd. Probably my best combat unit, but lolol level cap. =(

I don't think there's any question who gets the first Heaven Seal.

Guy
Level 18 EXP 10
HP: 36
STR: 11
SKL: 20 (Max)
SPD: 20 (Max)
Luck: 9
DEF: 6
RES: 7
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - A
Support(s): Matthew - A

Comments: A little disappointed that Guy doesn't have more STR, but he almost makes up for it with his ability to evade most things. Matthew trailing after him also helps with his damage.

Serra
Level 20/2 EXP 77
HP: 29
MAG: 15
SKL: 13
SPD: 14
Luck: 18
DEF: 7
RES: 17
Weapon Rank(s): Staves - S, Light - D
Support(s): Hector - B, Matthew - B

Comments: Serra is the only promoted unit on the team right now, thanks to all the healing she gets to do. I'm pretty pleased with how she's turned out so far. That 15 Magic might be a higher total than she had for my entire EHM run. I'd check but I deleted that file when I put that Chapter 19xx file earlier.

Raven
Level 15 EXP 13
HP: 37
STR: 15
SKL: 18
SPD: 20 (Max)
Luck: 6
DEF: 8
RES: 2
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - A
Support(s): [None]

Comments: Raven is tough to figure out, those stats seem pretty solid to me, but he has a tough time dodging things, and the low Luck concerns me with critical chances.

Fiora
Level 16 EXP 93
HP: 29
STR: 10
SKL: 16
SPD: 18
Luck: 8
DEF: 6
RES: 13
Weapon Rank(s): Lance - B (Nearly at A)
Support(s): Eliwood - A

Comments: I'm disappointed in Fiora to the extent that she was like a goddess in EHM, and this time she's been kind of brought back down to earth. Still a good unit for me though, and flying can be invaluable.

Matthew
Level 20 EXP --
HP: 31
STR: 11
SKL: 10
SPD: 20 (Max)
Luck: 8
DEF: 4
RES: 3
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - A
Support(s): Guy - A, Serra - B

Comments: Matthew, like Raven, is hard for me to figure out. It's complicated by the fact that lately all I've had him do when he's not going after treasure or enemies with items, is follow Guy around to make Guy stronger.

Legault
Level 12 EXP 62
HP: 28
STR: 9
SKL: 14
SPD: 17
Luck: 10
DEF: 9
RES: 4
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - C
Support(s): [None]

Comments: You may be wondering why Legault is here. The reason is this, scroll back up and compare his stats with Matthew. I really have to think Legault wins that. I think I'm actually going to use Legault for a while now unless a case arises where I see that Matthew's 20 Speed is required for stealing, or Matthew's absence has a noticeable negative effect on Guy.

Ninian
Level 7 EXP 3
HP: 19
STR: 1
SKL: 0
SPD: 17
Luck: 15
DEF: 7
RES: 7
Weapon Rank(s): [None]
Support(s): [None]

Comments: None really, I just started Chapter 21 so she'd appear and I could get her stats now rather than later, she hasn't done anything yet.

Oswin
Level 15 EXP 38
HP: 33
STR: 15
SKL: 11
SPD: 7
Luck: 5
DEF: 18
RES: 5
Weapon Rank(s): Lances - A
Support(s): [None]

Comments: Oswin is here because he does get deployed fairly often, even if it's only for Merlinus Guard Duty. He's done that quite well so far, although I suspect it's possible he's seeing his last deployments, if he hasn't already.

Florina
Level 13 EXP 63
HP: 24
STR: 9
SKL: 12
SPD: 14
Luck: 9
DEF: 5
RES: 7
Weapon Rank(s): Lances - A
Support(s): [None]

Commentary: Florina is mostly listed here because she's the last unit left with a decent level/has been deployed a few times. However, she's pretty much worthless. Now, I know you could probably check her stats against Fiora and she doesn't do too bad, but in practice it has just felt like Fiora is way above her.

I'm really starting to feel the pressure of my limited amount of time for this playthrough. So, despite this arguably not being the best decision, I'll see if I can maybe increase the pace!

Deployment (8/8): Hector, Eliwood, Lyn, Guy, Serra, Raven, Fiora, Legault.

Note: I am so low on weapons right now it's hilarious, I was worried way back at Chapter 18 (The Pirate Ship) that I may not have had enough weapons to last through 19, 19x, 19xx, and 20 to make it here, and it got dangerously close! Now, with the Silver Card, I'm hopeful that I'll be in better shape.

Ninian joins beginning of Turn 1. I'm not sure if it's a Hector Mode difference or just HHM, but she doesn't automatically give Eliwood that dance as a "demonstration" of her abilities.

Fiora levels. HP, SKL, SPD, Luck, RES. It's hard for me to call that bad, but would have liked STR.
Legault levels. HP, STR.

Ah, monks, the one and only enemy type that Eliwood can defeat by himself.

Legault levels. HP, SPD, Luck.
Serra levels. HP, SPD, Luck.

Well, I may be in some serious trouble. Like half my army is poisoned, Lyn and Raven are in critical HP, Wyverns are everywhere... Let's see now. I did get to all the villages, so I could see if retreating a bit is plausible.

Raven levels. Just HP. =(

It's like the last enemy phase was the story of Eliwood's life.
The people who are going to support with him (Fiora and Ninian) make clutch dodges (Archer and Wyvern respectively) while Eliwood himself does not (2 Wyverns.) I really do pity Fiora and Ninian, they deserve better.

Anyway, Eliwood somehow survived that, but the situation is growing even more dire now.

Ninian levels. HP, SKL, SPD, Luck.

..........

I must say, Serra jobbing was not how I expected this to end. Eliwood? Yes. Legault? Yes. Raven? Maybe. Fiora? Maybe. Guy? Maybe. Lyn? Maybe. Serra? No.

The most puzzling thing is, I'm not sure what it possibly had equipped to knock 16 HP off of Serra in one hit. It came from out of the Fog of War, but I had two visible Wyverns and both were well short of OHKO range, although both hitting would do it. I guess Steel Lance with high STR is the only explanation.

restart.

Anyway, my initial plan here is going to be to keep from extending my army as far as I did last time. In theory. Hopefully.

Fiora levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD. yay.
Serra levels. HP, Luck.
Legault levels. HP, SKL, SPD, DEF.
Legault levels. SPD, Luck.
Raven levels. HP, SKL, Luck.
Ninian levels. SPD, DEF, RES.
Guy levels. HP, STR, Luck.

I think I have now officially outlasted the wyvern swarm, but it was closer than I'd have hoped!

Ninian levels. HP, SPD, Luck, RES.

Guy, with the Silver Card, goes on a shopping spree. Bought like 10 Iron Swords, 3 Iron Lances, 2 Javelins, 3 Iron Axes, 2 Hand Axes, 3 Heal Staves, and 4 Vulneraries. Roughly, I didn't keep track of all of the numbers.

Ninian/Eliwood C Support.

I believe it's down to just the boss and one bandit that is standing so I can't get him without pulling the boss.

Serra levels. HP, MAG, Luck.

So, then, let's pull the boss!

XD Hector so pro. Criticals the boss and then hits normally on the second hit to put the boss at 6 HP so I can give the EXP to practically anyone I want (and far more importantly - steal the Hero Crest)

Stole Hero Crest.

Now, technically, Raven is a few EXP behind Eliwood, but the difference is that Raven is competent and Eliwood is not, the prospect of Eliwood killing a boss is so rare - somewhat comparable to the odds of flipping a coin, having it struck by lightning, and then landing on its side. So Eliwood will get this because it'll put him that much closer to Level 20 and total obscurity. I also like how Eliwood was only doing 3 damage normally so he absolutely required Fiora to fly over and give him the +3 ATK Support boost to finish off the boss. classic eliwood.

Eliwood defeats the boss and levels. HP, SKL, DEF.

victory.
Deployment (11/11): Hector, Eliwood, Lyn, Guy, Serra, Raven, Fiora, Legault, Ninian, Matthew, Oswin.

My "check every single unit on the map before starting" yields a very interesting discovery. About 90% of the melee units here have Reaver weapons. That could have been hilarious if I didn't check and tried to divide tasks by the weapon triangle!

Raven levels. HP, SKL.

...

The NPCs are more damaging than the Enemy Army ever could be. I think they are going to cause a restart by blocking my path towards some chests, so an enemy thief will beat me there.

Eliwood recruits Heath. Heath's first action as a member of the team is to rescue Eliwood and flee because Eliwood is Eliwood.

Lyn recruits Rath. Rath's first action as a member of the team is to run himself away, because he's Rath.

Somehow Matthew and Serra both survived the turn (I was ready for both of them, especially Matthew, to cost me the run.)

A Brave Axe was taken from a treasure chest.

I'm effectively running two missions here. Guy, Matthew, Legault, and Fiora are attacking the west side, looking to get the treasure (and defeat the enemies over there.) Eliwood and Ninian are also over here, because they were needed to recruit Heath. Practically everyone else is kind of going east. Eubans has a Knight Crest he drops, but even if he didn't, he must be defeated. He is a WORTHY OPPONENT and deserves honorable combat, but I have to think of a way to fight my way through there. The troubling thing is that I want to keep the enemy from the direct south going straight north to where Nils (who is the actual mission objective) is, as he protected by... Isadora. That's it. So, yeah.

Legault stole the Enemy Thief's Lockpick, so the other chest is safe for now, still will need to defeat him for the Brave Axe though.

Ninian levels. HP, SPD, Luck, RES.

Legault gets the other chest for 10,000 Gold. Yay!

DAT RATH NPC

SINGLE-HANDEDLY MAKING ME BELIEVE THAT RATH IS A DOUBLE AGENT WORKING FOR EUBANS!

WAY TO BLOCK ANOTHER PATH!

Legault levels. SKL, SPD.

Okay, Turn 7, I seriously have to get near Eubans quick.
Fiora levels. Just HP. =(

Turn 10. Need to pull Eubans this turn.
Bought a single Physic from the Secret Shop.
Oswin levels. HP, DEF.

Last turn. Eubans must be defeated!
Raven levels. HP, STR, Luck.
Time to send in Hector! (Only Lyn, Hector, and Serra are in range of Eubans, and Serra, the only one who can get EXP, has 20 HP... and can be hit for 20, so yeah.)
Hector crits because he is such a beast. Eubans one-shotted.
Knight Crest get.

victory
Deployment (8/8): Hector, Eliwood, Guy, Serra, Raven, Fiora, Legault, Ninian.

Lyn is benched because I absolutely want Ninian here to ensure I unlock Genesis.

Well, the bosses start way too close to me. There's a mage with a Guiding Ring, and one boss has a White Gem. Both of those must be obtained.

WHAT

WHAT IS THIS

FOG-DESERT OF WAR? (Side note: I wish we had Strikethrough so I could have put the Fog in strikethrough)

DID A SANDSTORM START IN THE FEW SECONDS BETWEEN CHECKING THE MAP THROUGH THE BATTLE PREPARATION SCREEN AND ACTUALLY PRESSING START?

IS THIS SERIOUS?

...

...

Okay, okay, we've still go this. No problem, no problem.

In case you somehow didn't follow that, the map is effectively Fog of War. Only, Fog of War blocks the map with gray, this is yellow (because we're in a desert lolololol). I am given Pent's location though, at least.

I fully anticipate a restart, because the odds of me getting Fiora to Pent safely now are so ridiculously low.

At least one boss is mobile, because the one starts in visibility range of my start location is moving.

PENT! HOW THE HELL! WHY CAN YOU SEE THROUGH THE FOG OF WAR!?

Hawkeye shows up.

And is immediately recruited by Hector because he showed up in a space adjacent to Hector.

Bad feeling that Pent is going to attack the boss with the White Gem next turn. But let's see if I even make it that far.

Guy levels. HP, STR. Guy is now at Level 20.
Serra levels. MAG, SPD.
Eliwood defeats the mobile boss (It was at 1 HP, but still, you never know with Eliwood).
Eliwood levels. HP, SKL, Luck, DEF, RES.
Legault steals the Guiding Ring.
Guy promotes.
Raven levels. STR, Luck.
Legault levels. Just Luck. ...

...Pent seems to be standing still now, that's good.

Legault picks up the Ocean Seal.
Ninian levels. HP, SPD, Luck, DEF, RES.

Map Theme changes to let me know the stationary boss is the only one left. Which means my convoy of units heading to Pent is pretty unnecessary, but ah well.

Legault gets a Hero Crest.
Legault gets a Light Brand.
Legault gets Filla's Might.
Legault gets an Eclipse.
Ninian levels. HP, SPD, Luck.
Legault gets a Body Ring.
Ninian/Eliwood B Support.

Prepare for a bunch of Ninian level ups, because I'm just going to use Ninian every turn for a while to make certain I unlock Genesis.

Ninian levels. HP, SPD, Luck.
Ninian levels. HP, SPD, Luck, RES.
Ninian levels. HP, SPD, Luck.
Ninian levels. HP, SKL, SPD, Luck, RES.
Ninian levels. HP, Luck, DEF, RES.

Okay, that should be good.

Legault steals the White Gem.
Raven defeats the boss.
Raven levels. HP, Luck, RES. Raven is now Level 20. (Also, lol Raven over 40 HP [2 bars of HP] unpromoted.)

victory
Pre-deployment Notes:
Sold White Gem
Raven promoted.

Deployment (8/8): Hector, Hawkeye, Guy, Serra, Raven, Fiora, Legault, Lyn.

*Checks map*

...

...

...

oh god

2 Bolting
2 Purge
2 Eclipse
4 Luna (1 of them also has one of those Eclipses)
Silence
Berserk (This guy also has one of those Purges)
Sleep

these are all on the field.

and that's not even all of them. it's just that elfire, nosferatu, and shine/divine are such welcome sights that i'm not mentioning them.

oh my god

I know Kishuna is here, but this is terrifying.

Preliminary Formation Plan:
Group 1 - Hector, Hawkeye, Lyn, Serra,
Group 2 - Guy, Raven, Fiora, Legault.

Gave Serra an Unlock stave and so split her from Legault. Lyn with Hector for supports, that was also a semi tiebreaker for Serra being in that group. Hector and Hawkeye are forced and unmovable, covering everything else.

yesssssssss Raven crits a Luna Druid with a Hand Axe.

Turn 2
Fiora levels. STR, Luck, DEF, RES.
Lyn put to sleep.

Turn 3
Restore on Lyn.
Lyn put back to sleep. *Sigh*

Turn 4
Restore on Lyn.
Lyn put back to sleep.
Hector smacked by Purge.
Serra silenced.

WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF

FULL ALERT!

ALL SECTORS BREACHED!

THIS IS NOT A DRILL! I REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

KISHUNA HAS FLED THE LEVEL! I REPEAT, KISHUNA HAS FLED THE LEVEL!

ALL DOORS HAVE BEEN UNSEALED! ALL EXCEPT THE ONE TO KISHUNA'S FORMER COMMAND CENTER! I REPEAT, THE ENEMY IS FREE!

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Turn 5
Fiora levels. SKL, SPD, Luck, RES. Fiora is now Level 20.
Fiora berserked.

REINFORCEMENTS? WHAT? WTF! IS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENING!?

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Turn 6
Hawkeye levels. HP, Luck.
Fiora defeated. She actually went after the enemy, unfortunately she went solo and had no chance on enemy phase.

restart.

Okay, I feel like I actually could have handled this had Serra not been silenced. But, I'm not entirely sure, this may be the most evil level I have ever encountered in a Fire Emblem game so far.

Turn 1
Raven defeats a Luna Druid.

Turn 2
Fiora levels. HP, STR, SKL.
Hawkeye defeats a Bolting Mage.
Lyn put to Sleep.
Silence misses on Serra! yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Turn 3
Sleep missed on Serra.

Turn 4
Sleep misses on Hawkeye. No Sleep uses remain.
Kishuna flees.
Doors/Walls open.

Turn 5
Fiora levels. SKL, RES.
Fiora hit by Eclipse and Purge, but is clutch enough to survive.
Lyn (still asleep) also hit.
Reinforcements.

Turn 6
Physic on Lyn.
Raven levels. HP, SPD.
Silence miss on Serra again.
Reinforcements.

Turn 7
Lyn wakes up.
.............
..............
Raven gets crit by Luna.

restart

I think I had it won too, I could finally rush the position of the Silence Mage and from there only the Berserk would really worry me.

Turn 1
Nothing too eventful

Turn 2
Fiora levels. HP, STR, SKL.
Lyn put to sleep.
Silence misses on Serra.

Turn 3
Sleep miss on Hawkeye.

Turn 4
Hawkeye put to sleep.
Kishuna flees
Dorrs/Walls open.

Turn 5
Raven levels. HP, SPD, Luck.
Physic on Hector
Serra silenced. ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
Reinforcements.

Well, I expect to lose now that Serra is silenced.

Turn 6
Fiora gets crit by Luna. wtf.

restart.

Turn 1
Nothing important really. Well, Raven jobbed to ranged magic.

Turn 2
Sleep misses on Lyn.

Turn 3
Lyn put to sleep.

Turn 4
Guy levels. SKL, DEF.
Hawkeye put to sleep.
Kishuna flees.
Doors/Walls open.

Turn 5
Fiora levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD, DEF.
Raven levels. Just STR.
Hector Berserked.
Reinforcements.

...well. this will turn out terribly now.

Turn 6

HECTOR! MVP! MVP!
Attacks and kills the Silence Mage WHILE BERSERK'D!

The bad news is that he's again out of range of Serra for restore, so Lyn and Hawkeye could still be owned by him.

Turn 7

WHAT A PRO! I DON'T CARE IF IT GOT HIM DEFEATED!

ATTACKS THE BERSERKER BISHOP WHILE BERSERK'D! AND IF BOTH HAND AXES HAD HIT HE WOULD HAVE WON!

BUT HE MISSED ON ONE!

SO BERSERKER BISHOP PULLED BACK AND HIT HIM WITH PURGE!

BUT MY GOD! WHAT AN EFFORT!

restart

Turn 1
Nothing important.

Turn 2
Fiora levels. HP, STR, SKL.
Sleep misses on Lyn.

Turn 3
Physic on Lyn.
Lyn put to sleep.

Turn 4
Legault! Double Criticals with a 8% (I think, maybe 6%) chance!
Sleep miss on Serra.
Kishuna flees.
Doors/Walls open.

Turn 5
Hawkeye defeats the Silence Mage. Likely going to need a Hector dodge now though.
Hawkeye Berserk'd instead. Hmm... How to play this...
Reinforcements.

Turn 6
Legault levels. Just RES.
...omg he just ran in.
Hawkeye charging ahead.
Fiora in trouble though, so I'm just going to have to trust in Hawkeye. *sigh*
Reinforcements.

Turn 7
Physic on Fiora. She's going to be at risk to a Luna crit no matter what I do. Had to heal her though so she could at least survive the non-crit. =/
Hawkeye levels. SKL, RES.

fffffffffff Fiora hit by Luna and then Purge.

restart

Okay, going to toss my army some pro equipment now. This is the kind of preparation I typically don't break out until Victory or Death.

Turn 1
Raven jobbing to Purge *sigh*

Turn 2
Barrier on Hawkeye.
Sleep misses on Lyn.

Turn 3
Guy levels. Just HP.
Barrier on Lyn.
Hawkeye put to sleep anyway. *sigh*

Turn 4
Physic on Hector.
Fiora levels. SKL, DEF.
Lyn put to sleep.
Kishuna flees.
Doors/Walls open.

Turn 5
Restore on Lyn.
Hector berserk'd then killed.

restart

Turn 1
Nothing important.

Turn 2
Fiora levels. HP, STR, SKL.
Barrier on Lyn.
Sleep misses on Lyn.

Turn 3
Barrier on Hawkeye
Sleep misses on Lyn again. ...This is the most promising it's ever been. Time for Group 2 to mess it up!

Turn 4
Lyn kills the Silence Mage.
Lyn berserked.
Hawkeye put to Sleep.
Kishuna fled.
Doors/Walls open.

...well this could lead to ruin.

Turn 5
Raven levels. STR, SKL.
fffffffffffffffff
totally forget berserked units could run through your units.
Lyn kills Serra.

restart

Turn 1
Raven hit by Luna. ....
and then Purge.

Turn 2
Lyn put to sleep.

god when i see that now i just want to restart

Turn 3
Guy levels. HP, SPD.
Oh, why not, let's take a risk.
Restore on Lyn.
Sleep misses on Lyn
Silence misses on Serra

good

Turn 4
Fiora levels. SKL, DEF.
Berserk misses on Lyn
Sleep hits on Lyn though.
Kishuna flees.
Doors/Walls open.

Turn 5
THERE IS HOPE!
Hawkeye defeats the Berserk Bishop.
THE ENEMY STAVES ARE DOWN!
Still, this is fairly dangerous.
Reinforcements.

Turn 6
Serra levels. MAG, SKL, SPD, Luck
Hawkeye levels. Just HP.
Reinforcements.

Next few turns I'm bringing most of my army back towards the start to deal with that Luna Druid who chases them over and has crit my units multiple times in the past. I want Lyn w/Hector Support to face him.

Turn 7
Reinforcements.

Turn 8
near disaster. a different luna druid had a chance to attack hawkeye.
the one i sent my whole army to meet attacked merlinus. merlinus tanked it thankfully.
Reinforcements.

Turn 9
Hawkeye levels. HP, STR.
Finished the other Luna Druid with Hector instead. Saw he had a 0% Crit rate on hector and didn't even bother checking Lyn.
9 Enemies remain, the 4 in Kishuna's Room, and 5 reinforcements.
Reinforcements.

Turn 10
Reinforcements seem to have stopped.

Turn 11
Yeah, none here either.

Turn 12
Raven levels. HP, STR.
Fiora levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD. Spped maxed there. Fiora is now at Level 20.
Now the only enemy units on the field are the ones in Kishuna's room.

Turn 13
Fiora promotes.
Also going to stop the turn-by-turn updates now. Basically, I'm just going to heal and regroup, get the treasures, and then march on Kishuna's room.

Legault gets a Silver Blade
Legault gets a Berserk
Legault gets a Secret Book.

While I was running/flying Legault around, I came to a realization. I do NOT want to open the door to Kishuna's room. That's a disaster waiting to happen. I should be able to pull his guards and counter at range if I think carefully.

Pulling the General with Raven, using Hand Axes.
General down.

Similarly, Raven will use the Light Brand to now pull the Hero.
Hero down.
Raven levels. Just HP.

Now, it's not possible to pull the Sniper or Swordsmaster separately, but I can get around that by attacking then rescuing.

gogo Serra!
Sniper down.
Serra levels. SKL, Luck.

One left!

Fiora will take him with Javelins.

VICTORY! HAHAHAHAHA YESSSSSSSSSSSS

OWNED GENESIS OWNED

For whatever it's worth, I'm pretty sure the ghost ship in FE8 took me more tries than that.

Like, ten times as many. <_<

Not saying it's harder or more annoying, but yeah.

2 Bolting
2 Purge
2 Eclipse
4 Luna (1 of them also has one of those Eclipses)
Silence
Berserk (This guy also has one of those Purges)
Sleep

If this was FE6, it would be more like:

2 Bolting
2 Purge
8 Fenrir
2 Silence
2 Berserk
2 Sleep
2 reinforcements with Sleep every other turn

...Half of which are completely out of range, even for a Longbow.

...Admittedly, the Lunas may be the most dangerous part of all that, so I'm not sure which is worse. >_>

For whatever it's worth, I'm pretty sure the ghost ship in FE8 took me more tries than that.

Yeah, but for what reason?

I mean, I'm fairly sure my tactics were sound and would be hard pressed to improve on them, it's just the game didn't care. It's not like I was playing stupidly for a while and all of a sudden thought of a winning strategy and everything fell into place.

I mean, the time I won I actually just took my strategy and went "Well, I'm mad, so let me do something that has an 80% chance of backfiring, and has vague and possibly insignificant benefits even should it work" and luckily enough it barely worked.

Yeah, but for what reason?

Because the only strategy that wouldn't get me slaughtered outright involved only deploying Ephraim and Duessel, loading them up with Javelins and Pure Waters, and hoping for the best.

And then L'Arachel's party got thrown into the mix.

You can see how this was a recipe for disaster. >_>
Just finished reading xp's FE7 updates. Amazing stuff, I'll get to specific comments later.

One thing I really like is that most of the descriptions aren't specific enough to spoil the levels for me. I'm debating doing a now-semi blind run for HHM on livestream. It could be amazing.

need to finish the superior FE6 first imo

Especially now that I've finished FE6 and can confirm that it's > FE7.

I beat Mega Man 10!

...On easy mode!

Eh? Easy mode? How disgusting!
Only elementary school kids should play on easy mode.

The obnoxious thing is that it really is too easy. It's just absurdly easy; you can pretty much breeze through the entire game, to a point where it negatively impacts the game's quality. But what it does allow you to do is save during the final level - the final level being about as long as the entire rest of the game combined. Normal mode, for whatever reason, doesn't. Presumably the people in charge of making this game received sudden onset amnesia and forgot it was the year 2010 sometime after coding the save system into easy mode but before coding it into normal mode, or something.

I could probably replay the final level over and over until I have such incredible muscle memory that I can do it all in a single run, but seriously, fuck that. The time I would have to spend on that is time that could be better spent playing games that don't ask me to do that.

Chapter 24 - Four-Fanged Offense

That's right, we're finally getting Chapter Title displays! I was going to wait until Battle Before Dawn, but eh, the game starts picking up around here, so this works.

Deployment (12/12): Hector, Guy, Serra, Raven, Fiora, Legault, Lyn, Eliwood, Ninian, Matthew, Oswin, Dart.

I obviously have the Linus version of Four Fanged Offense given I have a combined level of 59/60 for my Lords.

Fiora levels. Just STR. Well, if she could only get one stat...
Recruited Geitz.
Disaster about to strike because the "Recruit Geitz" team is going to need more than Fiora, Eliwood, Dart, and now Geitz.
Eliwood reaching Level 19, 99 EXP, classic eliwood not getting the level.
Eliwood levels. HP, STR, SKL, Luck. Eliwood is now Level 20.
Raven levels. HP, STR, DEF.

...Serra trying to end this by turbo jobbing to Wyverns. Hit twice and at 3 HP now. on the one chapter i don't give her vulneraries.

...well, the Recruit Geitz team is now going to cut its losses and flee. The moment I secured that front, wyverns start spawning right there. Sent Fiora to get the Earth Seal and now they're in full retreat.

Guy levels. HP, SPD.

uh-oh

there's been a bolting mage attacking me the last 4 turns, but he keeps missing on would be fatal hits. this time he can get hector. i don't like my odds.

close the polls

mvp

Hector unstoppable. Dodges Bolting!

Ninian levels. HP, SPD.
Fiora levels. HP, SKL, SPD.
Serra levels. Just MAG.
Raven levels. HP, STR, SPD, RES.
Fiora levels. SPD, RES.
Just Linus and his guards remain.
Ninian levels. Just RES.
Matthew with the Silver Card buys 15 Iron Swords, 2 Iron Lances, 3 Javelins, 3 Iron Axes, 5 Hand Axes, 5 Heal Staves, 2 Mend Staves, 2 Restore Staves, and 10 Vulneraries.
Legault levels. Just Luck.
Guy levels. HP, Luck.

Fiora defeats Linus after Guy takes off most of his health with a critical.
Fiora levels. HP, SKL, SPD, DEF.

victory
Chapter 25 - Crazed Beast

Pre-deployment notes:
Merlinus promotes.

This was a semi-tough call. If I were going for the best rank I could get, I'd do nothing, but I'm not, so I'm going to go ahead and sell the Ocean Seal (25000 Gold) so I can recruit Farina (20,000 Gold). Currently I'm at 6919 Gold, so yeah. Before the Four-Fanged Offense spending spree, I was somewhere around ~16,000 Gold, so I still would have had to have done something.

lol funds rating goes from 5 Stars to 4 from that. Though to be fair, it's got to be inflated because I haven't used any stat boosts yet, so those are still giving me points towards Funds.

Also, amusingly enough I probably should have gotten a few light tomes during all that, I only have one Lightning, and one Shine, both with Serra right now.

Deployment (10/11): Hector, Guy, Serra, Raven, Fiora, Legault, Lyn, Eliwood, Ninian, Matthew.

For the meantime, I'm sending Guy, with Matthew, south. Fiora is going solo east over the lake to a village. Raven is holding the north entrance. Everyone else is mostly in the center still. Eventually, I think Guy can make his way to near where Raven is and they can hold a different choke point.

Fiora gets an Elysian Whip from the village.
Guy levels. HP, SKL, SPD, Luck.
Farina shows up.

...

farina are you insane

go to hector

DO NOT FOLLOW FIORA INTO HER 1 V 18 BATTLE

side note: that number could be accurate if some of the monks turn around upon realizing Fiora is back on the east side. otherwise it's closer to about 10-13 units.

thank you farina

maybe seeing that being an idiot would get you into fights persuaded you to go the other way

Raven levels. HP, STR, DEF.
Fiora levels. HP, STR, SPD, RES.

farina

pro-tip

to make a good impression on the army, don't talk to hector from the worst possible angle, that is to say, north of him, the direction from which the enemy is pouring in.

you know

just a tip

actually wait

i take that back

farina is a genius

she is attempting to force hector to pay her by effectively declaring she will get herself destroyed if we don't recruit her and take direct command

of course raven has already secured the area so she isn't actually in danger but still

nice effort

recruited farina

There are 14 enemies in a 5 square radius of Fiora.

they are so screwed

Ninian levels. HP, SPD, Luck, RES. Ninian is now at Level 20.
Legault levels. Luck, DEF.
Fiora levels. HP, Luck, RES.
Serra levels. SPD, Luck, RES.
Raven levels. HP, STR.
Fiora levels. HP, STR, SPD, DEF.
Only Pascal and a few units around him are left.
Guy defeats Pascal.
Guy levels. Just HP.
Legault levels. Luck, DEF, RES.
Matthew, with Silver Card, buys 3 Lightning and 2 Thunder.
Fiora seizes the third and final fort that Pascal left behind.

victory
Chapter 26 - Unfulfilled Heart

Deployment (10/14): Hector, Lyn, Eliwood, Guy, Serra, Raven, Fiora, Legault, Ninian, Matthew.

*Looks at map*

Ahahahaha HHM Bonus never change.

Vaida with 63 HP. lolol so much for the HP Cap. (27 STR, 25 SKL, 23 SPD, 0 Luck, 26 DEF, 20 RES as well)

I should give Raven the Wyrmslayer for lolz and fight her. But nah, I don't have enough time for this playthrough to mess around like that. >_>

Lyn promoted.
Legault levels. HP, STR, Luck, DEF. Legault is at Level 20. ...and I'm left with mixed feelings on how he compares against Matthew.
Raven levels. Just SPD.
Lyn levels. HP, STR, SKL, Luck.

Okay, Guy and Matthew will not make the lower left village by themselves. Matthew will job enough to delay Guy. But with 4 turns can I get Fiora there in time?

...

XD

yes, yes i can.

in fact she only needs two turns to make it there. (well, and one use of ninian)

Guy levels. HP, SKL, SPD.
Fiora gets the Hammerne Staff from Ursula at the lower left village.

(Actually, as a side note, it turns out Matthew would have just made it on Turn 11, but I couldn't have known the reinforcements down there would stop to allow it. Plus, they required Louise to give them Ballista support to manage even that.

vaida's forces are so terrible.

victory

Chapter 5

A town is under attack by bandits who have taken over a nearby castle. A villager recruits Roy's help. You can go straight to the left from the starting point, through a gate that will be unlocked for you by the villagers, and probably kill the boss on turn 2. If you want. I obviously don't; I'm going the long way, getting a village, and killing everything.

One turn in, two silly people named Dorothy and Father Saul (who basically has the same personality as Miroku from Inuyasha) leave the village to find Roy's army, in hopes of joining him because he's got Guinevere with him.

Lugh levels. HP, Speed, Luck, Res.
Dieck levels. HP. .....DIIIIEEEEECK.
Rutger levels. HP, Skill, Luck, Defense.
Wolt levels. HP, Strength, Skill. Not bad at all.
Lance levels. Strength, Res. I will take that, tbqh.

Most importantly: I made it to the village in time to save it from trolls brigands. Marcus was given the "Gant Lance" and is informed that it was once wielded by a powerful Armor Knight.

Weapon Rank D
Wt 10
Pwr 9
Hit 65
Crt 0
"Lance wielded by Gant."

...Looks awful, but eh. (Note: A significant number of chapters later, I realized that Steel Lances SUCK and that the Gant Lance is actually pretty useful.) (Note 2: These weapons - the Gant Lance, Al Sword, and Tina Staff - are references to the Hasha no Tsurugi manga, where the main characters were... you guessed it, Al, Gant, and Tina.)

Chad level up. HP, Strength, Skill, Speed, Luck, Res. ........Chad, why do you do this to me. If you keep getting awesome levels, I'll keep throwing you into combat situations, and you'll get killed. augh.
Thany levels. Skill, Luck, Def. Still 5 Strength, which is awful.
Rutger levels. HP, Strength, Speed, Luck. Best character.
Roy levels. HP, Strength, Luck, Res.
Lugh levels. ...HP. URGH. LUGH. I HATE YOU.
Wolt levels. HP. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLT
Alan levels. HP, Speed. What happened. I was getting such good level ups for a while. augh, this game
Alan levels again. .........HP. God. Damn. It.
Chad levels. HP, Skill, Luck, Res.
Clarine levels. Magic, Res.

The boss has a Killer Axe and is incredibly hard to hit, so I'm pretty much forced to throw Rutger at him and burn a few uses of my Killing Edge. Rutger levels. HP, Skill, Speed.

We conquer the castle. Merlinus informs us that there's a priest here who wishes to talk to us. Guinevere says that the church of St Elimine is becoming hostile towards Zephiel, so she doubts he's a threat.

Saul: Your Highness... I wish to know the location of the 'Fire Emblem'.

Dun DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Turns out Guinevere yoinked the Emblem because it can be used to awaken a sword used for dragon-slaying. Zephiel was very concerned about it falling into enemy hands, at least, so the plan wasn't all bad. Saul says that he'll be accompanying us from now on. Guinevere starts to tell Roy something, but then the cutscene ends, presumably from a hacking error. I really should have looked for a more recent patch instead of using one from like 5 years ago.
--
Chapter 6

So, we're taking Saul and his bodyguard Dorothy () and going to Thria, a place governed by Lord Orun, Hector's half brother. But gasp, Bern is here and they're being dumb and we have to kill them.

So we only get 10 units for this chapter, which means, for the first time, we get to pick which units to dispatch. This is nice because it means I can finally ditch characters like Ward and Fatty, but it's lame because I really, really want to use like 12 units or so, and even Marcus would be nice to have around as a meatshield.

Also: Merlinus counts as a regular unit, which means I'll probably never deploy him. Ah, well.

I almost want to take Lot and Ward because this chapter is BRIMMING with Soldiers, but I can't see them being a credible enough threat to warrant taking characters I won't use again, so oh well.

Okay so Roy has been welcomed into this castle by Lord Orun's advisor, but he's genre savvy enough to know to get the fuck outta dodge. Merlinus tries to convince him otherwise, but then he just says "TrgtMstrKngt" or something and the cutscene ends.

Wow, this is a FANTASTIC romhack.

Also: there's a girl thief sneaking around.

So Saul is a priest and Dorothy is an archer, and they're both auto-deployed. Gee, thanks. Two units I don't need. This was worth ditching Merlinus and Lot for, yes indeedy.

Oh hey, there's also a hot chick locked up in one of the rooms. I think she's Rath's daughter; if she's the character I'm thinking of, then I think most fan theories say that her mother is Lyn.

...oh wow, the enemies chose to take the middle path while I broke my units to the two paths to the right and left. Yeah this is terrible. I can see a reset in my future.

Lance levels. HP, Str, Luk.
Thany levels. Spd, Res. Terrible.
Rutger levels. HP, Skl, Spd, Luk, Def. I will accept that even if he missed the most important stat.
Dieck levels. HP, Str, Skl, Luk. ^5 Dieck, you are a pretty cool guy indeed.
Wolt levels. HP, Luk. urgh, wolt.

Cath, the girl thief, shows up soon enough. Roy can recruit her. Apparently the two have met previously, during that conversation that Merlinus caused us to skip. Fucking Merlinus.

...Oh huh. Roy can talk to her, but can't recruit her. Checking a FAQ, Cath can't be recruited here, apparently.

Okay, I now have access to a FAQ that translates the game's script. The first missed conversation was just Guinevere apologizing for being a burden on Roy. The more recent one with Merlinus has Saul and Dorothy informing Roy that a lot of soldiers are patrolling the area, adding to Roy's suspicions about the whole situation. Dorothy then notices a spy - Cath. Cath tells us that Wagner (the boss) killed Orun and is going to turn us in to Bern. So yeah, then Cath disappears, and Roy sets up a plan to trap Wagner by trying to leave. Wagner, of course, attacks, when he realizes that Roy isn't falling for his clever trap.

So yeah, and now, I restart, because Cath stole some money from a chest.

....FFFFFFFFFF- I forgot to get my Door Key from Merlinus AGAIN. Oh well. Chad can handle all that. Especially once he steals a Lockpick from Cath.

...Not even telling you about this attempt because Alan died a few turns in. <_<

......Or the next one.

Dieck levels. HP, Str.
Lance levels. HP, Str, Skl, Def. Lance, there may be hope for you yet!
Thany levels. HP, Str, Spd, Luk, Res. Amazing.

Okay, I talk to Cath. Now, just need to steal her Lockpick and hope this doesn't make her start attacking us...

Clarine levels. Magic. .........My standards are actually low enough that I'll take that as a good level.
Wolt levels. HP. ugh, disgusting.
Thany levels. HP, Skl, Spd, Def, Res. Missed Str, but... Also, fun fact: Thany has 9 Def and 7 Res. what the hell.
Lance levels. Spd, Res.
Alan levels. HP, Str, Def.
Lugh levels. HP, Magic, Def, Res. Wow, and I was just about to stop using you despite having no other answer to armored enemies (literally). But maybe, just maybe, you can become 1/10th as awesome as your mom is. Maybe.
Chad levels. HP, Str.
Clarine levels. HP, Spd.
Thany levels. HP, Skl, Luk.
Lugh levels. HP, Magic, Luk, Res.
Roy levels. Skl, Res. Man it's no wonder I don't use you more. Go sit in the corner, Roy.
Rutger levels. Spd.

Only the boss remains, and really, none of my people are suited for taking him out, but he's not a threat, so yeah.

Dieck levels. Spd, Luck, Res.
Clarine levels. Spd, Luk. Only in FE6 would my highest leveled character be a healer. <_<

...yeah Dieck can't hit the boss despite a 56% chance, so time to bring in the pro. Rutger!

*Rutger hits on a 57% chance and crits on a 37% chance*

That's Rutger for ya.

So yeah, Roy conquers the place. Sue, the Nomad we rescued, says that she's the granddaughter of the Silver Wolf of Sacae. The Kutolah Clan decided to go on the offensive against Bern, but the Djute Clan betrayed them and they were separated. Sue was taken in by Orun, but then Orun was killed by Wagner. So now she wants to travel with us to get revenge on Bern and rescue her grandfather. (How very Lyn of her.)

augh. Merlinus informs Roy that his spy has reported back from Ostia. A group of rebels who want Ostia to surrender to Bern have taken Lilina as a hostage. Goddammit you guys. NOW ROY HAS TO SLAUGHTER EVERYONE. It wasn't bad enough that he was taking on Bern basically singlehandedly, now he has to solo Ostia as well!

Chapter 27 - Pale Flower of Darkness

Note: I have Jerme's version of the chapter, which isn't very surprising really.

Pre-deployment Notes:
Sold the White Gem that Louise started with.

Deployment (10/12): Hector, Lyn, Eliwood, Guy, Serra, Raven, Fiora, Legault, Ninian, Matthew.

I'm also looking to get Harken, because I want that Brave Sword, plus he'll have HHM Bonuses. Besides, getting Karel on this level could be semi-difficult, having to open so many doors so quickly, though I am fielding two thieves here for like the first time ever, but still.

Serra levels. HP, MAG, SKL, Luck, RES. (I think) Definitely got MAG (and HP), which is the important part.

Fiora, Guy, and Matthew are going north over some mountains, while practically everyone else is going through the center of the map. Hector is semi-guarding Merlinus because he's level 20. But I'm keeping Merlinus kind of close to the center group.

Lyn levels. HP, SKL.
Lyn levels. HP, STR, SKL, SPD, DEF.

Hmm, Fiora may be in a little trouble, I sent her to deal with 4 unpromoted Wyverns and 2 promoted ones solo. But a promoted one just hit her for half her HP. Going to pull her back a little towards Guy and Matthew and use a vulnerary.

Raven levels, HP, STR, SKL, Luck.

Damn, Fiora hit again, now a Vulnerary won't bring her past 50% HP. This could get tricky.
Harken shows up.
Snow stops again, so Fiora is really in a tricky position now.

oh wait

the snow stopped

lololol

physic on fiora

Fiora levels. HP, STR, SKL.

...

damnit

Harken went north, towards Fiora, Guy, and Matthew, and most of the wyverns flew south to flank my army.

*sigh*

Withdrew the weaker elements of the army (Merlinus, Eliwood, Legault into a building, and blocked with Hector. Raven is blocking the center, Lyn is blocking the back side of Raven's passage from the flanking units, with Ninian in between those two.

With Harken closing in from the top, I need to try and clear out a bunch of promoted units in the center simply to get Guy and Matthew away from him. Guy because I'd take Guy to defeat Harken, and Matthew because he'd get owned by Harken.

Lyn levels. HP, SPD, DEF, RES.
Raven levels. HP, STR.

crisis narrowly averted. Matthew got hit by a Nomad Trooper for 17 of his 31 HP. Good thing he dodges everything else.

...

DAT SNOW

SHOWING UP AT A CRITICAL TIME MAKING ELIWOOD ONE SQUARE SHORT OF RECRUITING HARKEN. AND NINIAN ONE SQUARE SHORT OF BEING ABLE TO FIX THAT.

*sigh* going to have to retreat the whole army or something now.

HARKEN!

WHAT THE!

NOT COOL!

HOW DID YOU HAVE THAT KIND OF MOVE RANGE IN THE SNOW! I THOUGHT THAT WAS 7 COST IN THE SNOW! YOU HAVE 6 MOVE!

(Harken moved up, attacked Raven, brought him to 8 HP, thankfully survived Raven's double counter, likely helped by the fact that Raven had an axe equipped, and Raven also thankfully dodged two arrows that probably would have been fatal. Actually, looking at ATK v DEF, I think Raven could have survived one arrow, but not both)

Eliwood recruits Harken before he can cause any more damage to my team.

Snow stops once more, and another group of wyverns is going to flank me.
Utterly dismantled that wyvern group with the majority of my army.
Lyn levels. HP, RES.
Serra levels. MAG, SKL, SPD.

Opened a door with Team Fiora, Guy, and Matthew to find some Luna Druids. They ran the other way in response! Mostly for Matthew's sake.

Lyn levels. STR, SPD. (Fun fact: Lyn's STR and SPD are equal!)
Raven levels. HP, STR.

Okay, my army is ready to attack that room.

Level: 49
Liberal Arts Major
With what I expect/hope to be the highlight of the entire run coming up next, I figure I'll give another team update. I'll also probably do these a little more frequently now for the rest of the playthrough because I pretty much consider Battle Before Dawn to be the real start of the game.

Hector
Level: 20 EXP: --
HP: 37
STR: 15
SKL: 14
SPD: 12
Luck: 9
DEF: 20 (Max)
RES: 5
Weapon Rank(s): Axes - A
Support(s): Lyn - A, Serra - B
Comments: Hector is still a semi-MVP, but lately he hasn't been able to do much because he's been at the level cap for so long.

Eliwood
Level: 20 EXP: --
HP: 32
STR: 12
SKL: 16
SPD: 10
Luck: 17
DEF: 13
RES: 7
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - A
Support(s): Fiora - A, Serra - B
Comments: Eliwood is also still the worst unit on the team. His only redeeming factors are his semi-decent DEF and Luck, but those are pretty much outweighed by his terrible SPD. He can't even really provide support bonuses to Fiora because it's too dangerous for him to follow her usually!

Lyn
Level: 20/9 EXP: 1
HP: 49
STR: 24 (Max)
SKL: 25
SPD: 25
Luck: 19
DEF: 11
RES: 13
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - A, Bows - B
Support(s): Hector - A
Comments: Lyn is so ridiculous. Those stats are perhaps even more crazy than last time given what she's accomplished in the time since then. I'm tempted to get her to S-Rank Bows instead of Swords. I think I've only used swords with her twice since her promotion, and bows all the other times. Definitely one of, if not the, most powerful unit on the team.

Fiora
Level: 20/9 EXP: 66
HP: 43
STR: 18
SKL: 22
SPD: 25
Luck: 9
DEF: 11
RES: 18
Weapon Rank(s): Lances - S, Swords - C
Support(s): Eliwood - A
Comments: Fiora has definitely improved since the last update, but still isn't quite at the level she was for me in EHM. Definitely one of the most improved units from the last update though.

Raven
Level: 20/11 EXP: 34
HP: 54
STR: 25 (Max)
SKL: 23
SPD: 24
Luck: 11
DEF: 12
RES: 6
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - S, Axes - A
Support(s): [None]
Comments: Almost without question the most improved unit from the last update. Raven is arguably MVP level at this point. His avoid is still his biggest weakness, but he's made it work so far, and those stats have been great.

Serra
Level: 20/11 EXP: 36
HP: 32
MAG: 21
SKL: 17
SPD: 18
Luck: 24
DEF: 7
RES: 19
Weapon Rank(s): Staff - S, Light Magic - B
Support(s): Hector - B, Matthew - B
Comments: Serra's Magic is already better than it was at any point for me in EHM, I believe, I don't think she passed 20 there. Her HP and low DEF do concern me about her though. She usually dodges, but when she doesn't things reach disaster levels very quickly.

Guy
Level: 20/8 EXP: 24
HP: 49
STR: 16
SKL: 22
SPD: 25
Luck: 13
DEF: 8
RES: 8
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - S
Support(s): Matthew - A
Comments: Guy has been quite solid, he's just been overshadowed by Raven, Lyn, and Fiora as of late. Still a good unit, though that STR is slowly becoming a problem against anything with decent DEF, even with Matthew following.

Ninian
Level: 20 EXP: --
HP: 30
STR: 1
SKL: 1
SPD: 28
Luck: 25
DEF: 10
RES: 16
Weapon Rank(s): [None]
Support(s): Eliwood - B
Comments: Nothing to say really. Ninian has definitely been useful, but that's to be expected.

Legault
Level: 20 EXP: --
HP: 30
STR: 10
SKL: 16
SPD: 20 (Max)
Luck: 16
DEF: 13
RES: 5
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - B
Support(s): [None]
Comments: Well, the whole "try out Legault" thing has probably ended in failure. The one good thing about him is his DEF is fairly good, making him much more durable than Matthew, but that's pretty much all he has on him.

Matthew
Level: 20 EXP: --
HP: 31
STR: 11
SKL: 10
SPD: 20 (Max)
Luck: 8
DEF: 4
RES: 3
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - A
Support(s): Guy - A, Serra - B
Comments: Matthew is still tough to place. Offensively, he's much better than Legault. Yeah, he only has 1 STR on Legault, but with Guy he gets +3 ATK and +15 Crit, and Guy gets those same bonuses. He has slightly better evade (I think it's heightened even more with Guy) but his durability when he is hit is terrible.

Pent
Level: --/6 EXP: 32
HP: 33
MAG: 18
SKL: 21
SPD: 17
Luck: 14
DEF: 11
RES: 16
Weapon Rank(s): Anima Magic - A, Staff - A
Support(s): Louise - A
Comments: Why is Pent here, you ask? Physic. Pent is coming to Battle Before Dawn because I want all the healing I can get, both for my team, and for Zephiel and Jaffar. Pretty solid stats too.

Harken
Level: --/8 EXP: 0
HP: 43
STR: 23
SKL: 22
SPD: 17
Luck: 12
DEF: 16
RES: 11
Weapon Rank(s): Swords - B, Axes - B
Support(s): [None]
Comments: Harken is here for about the same reason as Pent. I want as much help as I can get in Battle Before Dawn, and I hope to bring him, he's probably the best unit left, those stats seem pretty good.
