| Level: 43 Editor | [Spoiler for ToV, click to show]Talk to the guy on the ramparts in Deidon Hold? He's at least kind of interesting. But yeah, lol Deidon Hold. I got him, but Deidon Hold was still boring and longer than it needed to be. <_< He gets better. I mean, he's still probably my least favorite playable character, but he does get better. He already got somewhat better when he started picking locks and whatnot. Also, Karol and Rita together are amusing. >_> You missed the best part of that whole "quest" Yuri (In a great parody voice of Karol's original line): "Prepare to die, eggbear!" True, that was awesome. ...lolz. Rita single-handedly breaks the game later. I mean, you're not even close to that point where she can, but Rita is by far the most broken character in Vesperia, and probably out of everyone in Symphonia, Abyss, and Vesperia. I think only Guy (Abyss) and Colette can come close. But yeah, some of her spells are pretty useless in that they don't really correct their course if the enemy moves after the cast. Fireball isn't that bad about it though. It's also another move that gets better with use. In this case, more fireballs. I think at like 3000 uses it's up to 10 fireballs launched with one cast. 3000 uses? ... Well then. 3 possible results on hitting an enemy with the Sorcerer's Ring: 1. Enemy gets pissed and charges you (White smoke cloud over them) 2. Enemy freezes, and that's it. (Turns blue) 3. Enemy freezes, and you get the advantage in battle. (Birds circle over the enemy's head) I get 2 about 80% of the time, and the other two about 10% of the time each. It's rather annoying. And that's assuming I can even manage to HIT the monsters with it. You could also change the preset strategies so that the AI doesn't use items. Or if you're normally okay with them doing that but not during boss fights, make an alternate strategy type for boss fights and switch to it at the start of battle. I had 3 Strategy presets. Default (I'm sure I made some minor alterations though) Boss (Basically, default, but this time I removed the TP limits so they wouldn't stop casting at 50%) Solo (Because the game's "solo" strategy that's always there never worked for me. The AI would back off for about 3 seconds then immediately join the fight again) Yes, I need to fiddle with the strategies. Haven't gotten around to that yet, but it's beginning to become necessary, since like you said, Leave It To Me results in... no noticeable change at all. I'm not sure what's better, that version of Pumpkin Hill, or the running into Gattuso . That thing is a jerk. I still maintain he may be the hardest non-optional fight in the game. Or, at the very least, until a -lot- later in the game. He is annoying. At least the Goliath could be evaded, Gattuso just jumps in and picks off your guys immediately after they're revived. I think I'm underleveled, though, so I'm currently fighting some random encounters before challenging him again. </spoiler> --- "I'm not perverted! | Level: 43 Editor | [Spoiler for ToV, click to show]Gattuso is down. Man, that was a pretty terrible boss. I had been pounding on him for like 5 minutes, and I stopped to check his health... 16000/26000 I nearly cried. Anyway. Got the secret mission by complete chance, I assume it was knocking Gattuso unconscious with those flowers... Which I actually did several times (by accident), and it was a huge help. Also, there was an epix moment: *Repede, Estelle down* *Karol alive with like 26 HP* *I (Yuri) have like 250 HP* *Gattuso currently engaged to me* *Gattuso begins charging one of his attacks* Me: Can't dodge this... Should I try to use an item and heal Karol or revive Estelle or... WAIT! OF COURSE! *OVERLIMIT* *BEATDOWN* By the time my Overlimit ended, my whole team was back up with a decent amount and two of them were helping me beat the crap out of Gattuso. It was amazing. </spoiler> --- "I'm not perverted! I'm just immensely fascinated!" ~Lisa Yadomaru, Bleach "Speed is... weight. | Level: 43 Editor | [Spoiler for ToV, click to show]-why do games like this always have an "OMG THE OCEAN IS SO BEAUTIFUL" scene? Seriously. It's cliche. Stop doing it. -We're in scenic Capua Nor. -Oh man, a corrupt magistrate from the empire who has nothing better to do with his time than abuse the poor peasantfolk. What a totally original idea that doesn't happen in every story with an empire ever. Just once I'd like The Empire to be nice and helpful and with a 90% approval rating and a good ratio of puppies petted to puppies kicked. But nooo... can't have that. <_< -Yuri goes off by himself and beats the tar out of some assassins. -Then starts jobbing in a cutscene before Flynn shows up. -Both of them dance like they want to win. -Then Flynn tries to kill me. WTF. Nice way to greet your friend. <_< -Estelle and Flynn leave and get an inn room. If I wasn't SURE that Yuri/Estelle is canon, I'd swear they weren't even bothering with subtext here. -The Yuri/Flynn dynamic reminds me of some other duo... But I can't quite put on my finger on who. Hrm. -We're off to hunt the Rhybgaro. The only place nearby is a forest, so I go there and find it rather quickly. -...Easiest boss fight ever. If that was even a boss fight at all. That's where I stopped for the night. </spoiler> --- "I'm not perverted! I'm just immensely fascinated!" ~Lisa Yadomaru, Bleach "Speed is... weight. | Level: 43 Editor | [Spoiler for ToV, click to show]-It's somewhat annoying to hear the crappy JPop song at the intro every time I turn on the game. No matter how fast I try to skip it, I can never manage to skip ALL of it. -Remembered who it was Yuri and Flynn remind me of. Lelouche and Suzaku. They really aren't similar at all beyond token similarities, but that's definitely who it was. -We're totally in Full Metal Alchemist right now. -This dungeon is annoying. Every room looks exactly the same. -Yuri's group, Flynn's group, Raven, Ragou, the Blood Alliance, the Dragon Rider... Is this a remote mansion, or Grand Central Station? -whoo on a ship now -Zagi 3. Man, this guy is nuts. I like how he just stands there on fire talking about how he's going to kill Yuri, then an explosion blows him away randomly. <_< -Missed the secret mission, BTW. If there was one. -Flynn is such a lamer. "What has changed since then?" "Well a serial killer who targets children was just set free by you after we risked our lives to bring him to justice. So that's new." "..." "Derp." -I dislike these "You parted with everyone (for like two minutes)" things. Why even bother? -"Why'd you let him get away?!" "He says he's terribly misunderstood." XD -Oh god, I just got a free night at the inn. Dammit. That means something bad is about to go down. -Huh, just plot. I can live with that. -Okay, I missed the ruined city completely and went past it to, I assume, the next city I'll be visiting. And was told to turn around. Ehhh. -Found Caer Bocram this time. Pretty well hidden. <_<; -Ouch. Shut the **** down. -wtf @ one not voice-acted piece of dialogue in a voice-acted cutscene. >_> -"Wouldn't it be crazy if a monster just gobbled up your foot right now? Just a giant munch, and oops, no more foot." -Caer Bocram is annoying to navigate. -Boss fight TIME. But there are like three parties I could be fighting... WONDER WHO IT'LL BE. -This boss was... very easy. Though he refused to let me use Overlimit. Whenever I went into it, he just knocked me on my ass until it ended. Boo. But I spammed Azure Edge for like 600 damage a pop and beat him pretty easy. That Fatal Strike didn't hurt, either, though I was like "wtf" when I expected it to finish him but it didn't. So much for instantly killing the target. Eh. +18ish grade, +25 Gamerscore, secret mission completed (not sure what it was, really). -Estelle's a princess? NO ****ING WAY. Man, didn't see that coming! I am shocked! Best plot twist ever. (It gains credibility because everyone except Karol already figured that out, though.) -We really need to start knocking off our enemies/annoying people that might or might not be enemies but that I hate. Team Rocket's okay, but next time we see Zagi or Cumore or Ragou or Barbos or the Hunting Guild or the Blood Alliance or Flynn's gang, we need to just stick a sword in their heads. -Another Adecor and Boccos fight. I uh... got careless and they almost killed me. Whoops. >_>; </spoiler> --- "I'm not perverted! I'm just immensely fascinated!" ~Lisa Yadomaru, Bleach "Speed is... weight. I hear it's random, and that if you reloaded and retriggered the cutscene, the line should be voiced (unless you had the bad luck to have it skip twice). However, I've never bothered to test that, never saw the point. ----- -Caer Bocram is annoying to navigate. Eh, it's not that bad. Though it isn't essentially a straight line like Quoi Woods and Shaikos Ruins. And at least Caer Bocram has good music. Then again, Vesperia is typically good about that (Dungeon Music). Usually. Otherwise I'd have to do something stupid like Zagi 1, Zagi 1.5, and Zagi 2. I just call the whole thing Zagi 1. I'm pretty sure it only has a second entry because his stats change a little (I think just his HP goes up a bit, but I'm too lazy to load up my file and check) and his HP resets to full. There's no real major difference between either "form" of Zagi there. If there was, I could understand calling it Zagi 1 and Zagi 2, but it just isn't. Zaphias Castle Battle is Zagi 1, Boat Battle is Zagi 2. ----- I can agree with this. Though Ehmead Hill might be higher were it not for the obnoxious boss. I thought Estelle was beyond this Colette-esque secret hiding garbage. I mean, maybe this will turn out to be nothing major, but still. -If I see that Dragon Knight one more goddamn time... -The party's back together again! All according to Flynn's plan. -Alexei seems cool, but I'm getting serious "secretly a villain" vibes from him. -I think I'll put Rita in my party for a while, sending Karol to the sidelines. -We're in Ravnica now. I went Overlimit and pulled a 30 hit combo on it. Missed the secret mission. Eh. That's what second playthroughs are for! One of the more annoying ones, but nothing too hard... once you know what it is, only there's like no reason you would ever have thought of it until you were told. The boss walks over to the pond of aer or whatever that was to heal himself after he drops to a certain % of HP, while he's walking over, it needs to get stunned on a trap Raven set by using the arte "Serpent", which does just that, drops like traps or something on the field. It has to stun him before he heals himself. On the plus side, I think it may be the first secret mission that has a practical effect on the battle, complete it, and he doesn't heal himself during battle. All the ones before it, IIRC, are just like "Oh, that was neat, here, take +10 Grade and an extra item." You can make it once you reach Kiev Moc, the random enemies there drop the materials needed, though you would have to leave and head back to a shop to actually make it. Then just switch to Raven once the boss starts moving over there. I forget what % causes the boss to do that, but you should probably keep him as far from that pond as you can until then so you have extra time to make sure you get him, because sometimes you don't do it just the way the game wants you to and doesn't count it. </spoiler> --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 43 Editor | [Spoiler for ToV, click to show]-Okay, new boss plan. Swap out Rita for Judith - casters suck in this battle, but Estelle is necessary for healing. Target the orbs first, while my team distracts Barbos and his goons. -It works. I take out the orbs, pick off his remaining henchmen, and then combo Barbos into next week with Overlimit. -Huh. So we've actually more or less defeated several major enemies in a very short amount of time. Adecor and Boccos are presumably beaten, Zagi is MIA, Ragou is... he should be captured now, but I'm not sure what happened with him, Barbos is dead, the Dragon Knight's on my team (for now?), and the Blood Alliance has been broken up maybe. So we just need to knock off Flynn's group, the Hunting Guild, and Cumore, and we'll be in business. -Back in Ravnica. Heh. Ragou got owned. We really need to stop letting our enemies LIVE, though. Why can't he be more like Zagi and just explode randomly? -Oh, Ragou escaped. I'd act surprised but **** it. -...HOLY **** EPIC -Aww. Estelle and Rita are gone. =( -...IS THAT THE DAMN BIRD FROM QUOI WOODS? -We're in Pokemon 2000 now. -"Not even I feel like taking on a monster like that." Right because you're usually so brave. <_< -Karol and Yuri have started a guild. | Level: 43 Editor | [Spoiler for ToV, click to show]-Resuming where I left off... Wow, this family has the worst luck ever. -"Who should seduce the guard? Estelle Judith Karol" XD I was very tempted to pick Karol, but eventually went with Judith for obvious reasons. -...Please tell I don't need to playthrough the game 3 times just to 100% this event. Please please please. <_< -......oh my god @ judith's outfit -Oh my god. -"What was the 'fun' thing you were talking about?" "!" "Going for a swim." "..." -Okay, Yuri's dressing up like a knight now. For, like... no reason, since I'm back in my regular outfit in like 3 seconds. -Rita is baaaaack -they are massing hoplon guards to protect against critical hits (and go to war, I guess) -"But why would they do that when they just set up the friendship agreement?!" BECAUSE THEY ARE ASSHOLES Goddammit, Estelle. lrn2jrpg -Cumore's working with Van Argiano. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF -"Man, it's always the same thing with these idiots." Yuri is the smart one. -Wow, that boss was nuts. Those goons did more damage than Yeager. I mean, it was only in a flash, and I won, but geez, way to kill me like 3 times. <_< -"I'm sure Flynn can handle it." DAMMIT NO HE CAN'T. WHEN HAS HE EVER BEEN ANYTHING MORE THAN COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT. Ugh. -Just for fun: Yuri: Chaotic GOOD Flynn: LAWFUL Good Estelle: Neutral GOOD Karol: NEUTRAL Good Repede: True Neutral Rita: CHAOTIC Good Judith: CHAOTIC Neutral Raven: True Neutral Caps = dominant alignment I THINK that's pretty close, though Raven is iffy. -Well, it's official. I can't find Judith, and therefore can never end this event. -Oh, I had to attempt to LEAVE to trigger her appearance? That's... fairly stupid, considering it would usually just trigger something like "Awfully late to be wandering outside alone" and force me to turn around. -...Are they having a contest to see who can fast for the longest now? XD -"Our weapons are blades!" "Magic!" "And teamwork!" "That's wonderful!" -Judith learned "Rod Master". lolz <_< -Grinded for about an hour. I usually hate grinding but Tales games have pretty much the best battle system ever. Plus it was more to get Skills than to gain levels. Depending on character, I'd say they now have 3 to 10 new skills. -Of course, that required synthesizing a lot of items (Little Mad Scientist achievement unlocked) and killing a lot of enemies (Grand Battles achievement unlocked). | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | [Spoiler for ToV, click to show] -Equipment is expensive in this game. <_<; Yeah. Well, it is if you're trying to synthesize everything so you can get all the skills. I didn't like him before, but after he interrupted my potentially epic battle with Flynn with the good music and everything I was totally pissed. ----- -There's some huge crab monster here. I decide to avoid it for now. <_<; Technically a good idea. That monster is part of a different "class" of monsters, called "Giganto Monsters". They're basically boss level in difficult, and that one is probably more difficult than the Cados boss (Whether that means anything to you may vary), and get their own battle theme. They also typically drop unique/rare items that are used even in high-end synthesis. You probably wouldn't have had trouble beating it, but there's a sidequest involving them. Remember that travelling inn from the beginning of the game? It should be parked north of Halure right now, talk to the guy there and he'll give you a quest to hunt them down, eventually ending in a title. If you kill even one Giganto Monster before getting the quest from him, you can't trigger it. And you can't get to Halure for now because you can't use your boat at the moment. You would have had to go right after you got the boat but before you got near Nordapolica and cutscene power brought you there and locked you on the Desier Continent. However, if you didn't kill that, and you don't kill any Giganto Monsters until you talk to the guy about it, you should still be able to get the quest next time you're in that area. ------ -Regaey was Yeager all along!
