| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | hahahahaha Speedrunning makes the Water Temple so much better. you literally enter the temple, hookshot over to the central platform, then hoverslide to where the final boss area is. then just hover over the boss door and fight morpha. granted skipping the boss key is a bit annoying (for me) but skipping 99% of the water temple? the best --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Yeah. <_< It's just, I remember getting PISSED because I couldn't beat it when I originally played it. It just wasn't THAT hard. Cucco from Cucco lady Wake Malon Return cucco Get blue cucco Go meet creepy emaciated guy in Lost Woods and give chicken Take odd mushroom Deliver to Kakariko potion shop in 2 minutes Get odd potion and deliver to the creepy guy who disappeared Get Poacher's Saw from kokori child Deliver saw to carpenter outside of the Gerudo Fortress Get broken biggoron sword Deliver broken sword to Biggoron at death mountain peak Get eye drop prescription Deliver to King Zora Get Eyeball Frog Deliver frog to guy in Lake Hylia in under 3 minutes Get eye drops Deliver to Biggoron at summit in 4 minutes. Get sword ticket thingy Wait 3 days Get Biggoron Sword. The timed portions bothered me most originally. They didn't even bother me this time. The only one I had difficulty on was getting the frog to Lake Hylia because Epona kept REFUSING TO JUMP THE FUCKING FENCES. So I had to walk around them. Then she refused to jump the gates at Lake Hylia so I had to abandon her and use the ladders. I got there with 10 seconds to spare. The eye drops were the ones I kept failing on originally, thinking back on it it was HILARIOUS. Called Epona -> Leave lake hylia -> Kokori Forest -> Lost Woods -> Use Goron City entrance -> Go behind statue -> hookshot to the ladder that leads to the top -> Climb -> Biggoron I finished that with like, 2:10 or something to spare <_< <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Yeah... I have Skyrim running running on a mix of Medium and Low, and it looks better than the 360. The fucking load times are so god damn short. 2-3 seconds to load an area instead of 10+ seconds. <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Holy shit. I was worng. So fucking WRONG. Skyrim 360 is a good 20+ seconds for EACH load screen <_< <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I want to say the loading times got worse the longer you played and your save file has to keep track of more and more things. But I'm not 100% sure. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Probably. It took 50 seconds to initially load my level 47 Assassin <_< Every load screen after that, a good 20+ seconds. So I stopped procrastinating and downloaded SKSE, and SkyUI... Jesus, I don't think I can go back to the old inventory system. Now, if only they had also changed the conversation system, and the perk selection screen to be similar... <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | ...I never noticed it before, but. Aside from the Hookshot and the Bow... None of the temples really use anything from any of the other temples <_< <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Pretty much. And the Hookshot isn't even a dungeon item! Well, if you credit Longshot maybe. But I'm not sure how often you genuinely need the extra distance. Hover Boots and Silver Gauntlets make sense because it was presumably by design. Shadow and Spirit don't have a set order. You can do them in whatever order and Nintendo knew it. (As opposed to sequence breaking Nintendo didn't anticipate) --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Shadow does technically have an order. You can't access the Shadow Temple until you beat both the Fire Temple and Water Temple. <-> http://www.backloggery.com/kodan882 |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Oh, no, you misunderstood. Or maybe I said it poorly. I know Shadow is "intended" to require Fire and Water Medallions, because the cutscene in Kakariko is based on that. (I thought it required Forest too, but thinking about it I'm less sure. Undoubtedly it will assume it because of time travel and the well but I don't know if the cutscene specifically requires it. In any event, you can skip the Lens of Truth so Forest wouldn't strictly be necessary at this point, and I'd like to think Nintendo would be aware of this but I'm not sure) What I meant was the game doesn't have a set order for completing Shadow v Spirit. The game would recognize doing Shadow -> Spirit and Spirit -> Shadow as equally valid. The whole "Shadow is supposed to be locked behind the Forest/Fire/Water Medallions" thing basically dictated speedrunning routes for a very long time. Because Nintendo knew that thanks to the cutscene for Shadow Temple requiring the Forest, Fire, and Water Medallions (if it doesn't actually require Forest that's okay Spirit will) and Spirit requiring Forest (You need Forest to Time Travel) that for the endgame check that determines when you get Light Arrows and Ganon's Castle opens ONLY checks to see if you had the Shadow and Spirit Medallions. It assumes if you have those two you must have the other 3 because the game is designed that you can't get those 2 without the other 3. But it has to check both because it recognizes you can beat Shadow before Spirit or Spirit before Shadow. That's all I meant. of course it turns out with glitches you absolutely can enter the shadow temple without any medallions and you don't ever need to go back in time to beat any temple so you can absolutely just get the shadow and spirit medallions, ignoring the rest, and the game acts like you have everything, gives you light arrows and opens the castle. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Yeah, it's great. I'm not sure on what Nintendo's rationale for that was, but I like to think they were trying to be clever and save themselves the extra work of putting in checks for the other medallions, which while not unreasonable had hilarious results. For the longest time, speedrunning OoT involved just getting the Shadow and Spirit Medallions as fast as possible (even when it meant getting them through an entirely different glitch that didn't involve entering the actual temples) because that's all you needed to get Light Arrows. Light Arrows themselves were required because you absolutely need them to beat Ganondorf. Of course, now with Wrong Warp, all of that's out the window since you can skip from Deku Tree to Ganon's Castle Escape and so you don't have to bother with any of that stuff... >_> --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | ...Okay. FF7 PC bugs me. Why the fuck would you do a straight port? WHY WOULD YOU NOT INCLUDE MOUSE CONTROLS FOR MENUS!? Because that port is basically the exact same one that was released in 1998 when PC ports were absolutely not given a shit about and were really never updated to use the mouse efficiently because people assumed you had a joystick to play games. >_> The only addition it really has is hi-res textures (I believe it does, I know 8 does on Steam), achievements, and that refill HP/MP thing that gives you free money. +++ "Enough is enough!
