Flash - how old ar eyou again? Because if you were say 16 before the Pokemon craze, you very well could have never seen an anime. (Pokemon started many a kid on an Anime watching adventure)

Ive been watching stuff like Ulysess31 and Jayce and the Wheeled warriors since I was like, 4. Im 19 now, so that puts me very firmly in the Pokemon crap. Ill admit, I watched that for a while, but it was tedious then, and fucking terrible now.
Seriously, drinking yourself retarded > cartoons anyday. Id rather watch a good film.

And yes, the Pokemon show is terrible. Although the first season was rather amusing. But anyway, the Pokemon anime is aimed at, like, 10-12 year olds. Obviously you wouldn't like it now.
If you're at all interested (I doubt it, but feel the need to bring this up anyway), anime more in your age range are... Paranoia Agent, Ghost in the Shell, Big O, and even Lupin III if you like comedy. Big O especially, considering it gets a lot of inspiration from films and plays.

The LotR Trilogy was released somewhere in the last 5 years, right?
Sure, it isn't the book, but it's still great.
I'd say the original Matrix, but that was probably 1999-2000, and thus out of range.
I'm sure there's other things, I'm just not really good at trying to remember these things.

I think a lot of things in the book were just too damn slow and should have been cut/greatly shortened.
Most glaringly is everything Pre-Council of Elrond, or basically, the First Half of FotR.
There are other parts too, but that is the biggest problem I have.
