| Level: 43 Editor | This is like, Mario Kart 64 level cheating AI. So far I've noticed: Randomly missing enemies that I really should not be missing, at least not as often as I am. This only seems to happen during times when a miss would be very, very useful to the enemy, mind you. 4 characters, in a row, randomly missing against a basic zombie. Random powerups (enemies doing 8 damage one turn, then doing 9 damage the next turn... to the same character) Random double moves and/or critical hits at opportune times. Example: Gong: FEAR MY ASIAN STEREOTYPE-NESS. Skeleton: oh noes i am the pwnt ;_; Gong: IT'S OWNAGE TIME, n00b. Skeleton: o rly? Game: Stunning attack! Gong takes 14 damage! Skeleton attacks Gong for 7 damage! Gong is unable to fight! Me: ...What the FUCK. Enemies that have been stationary for 147ish turns suddenly deciding "hay i can kill that guy so i will" (although this could just be the AI being stupid in the beginning, not cheating in the end) My characters randomly deciding to be lazy and not move. My lead character is in danger? Well, this would normally be fine, except the boss gets about three turns before my lead gets one. Mind you all my other characters got turns too, just not the only character I actually cared about moving. Etc etc etc Fire Emblem this ain't. --- "If I don't live diligently, I can't die. | Level: 51 Juggernaut, bitch. | Random powerups (enemies doing 8 damage one turn, then doing 9 damage the next turn... to the same character) You do realize that this happens in like, every game ever that has anything to do with hp and whatnot? ~~ Burgess [Z?] http://blog.myspace.com/burgess51 I smell like smoke because I have walked through fire. |

| Level: 43 Editor | You do realize that this happens in like, every game ever that has anything to do with hp and whatnot? It tends not to happen in SRPGs. Of course in, say, Final Fantasy you'll 28304439573953 damage one turn and 24745962353321 the next, but generally in games where you do single digit damage and in SRPGs, the damage is consistant. It's called a RNG. lrn2randomize Except it's not a RNG, otherwise I could abuse it by using save states. Which I can't. --- "If I don't live diligently, I can't die. So I will fight. Even if... | Level: 44 DSB Moderator | except it is It's just that, like several of the events in Fire Emblem (and some other games if I remember correctly), the random numbers are picked at the start of battle or when you turn on the game or something. I've experimented with save states in some game before, only to be disappointed with the same results each time. Now... what game was that again...? <_< --- Mega Sonic Back at TFN?! |

| Level: 43 Editor | It's just that, like several of the events in Fire Emblem (and some other games if I remember correctly), the random numbers are picked at the start of battle or when you turn on the game or something. Which would lead to me being able to abuse those random numbers via save states. IE if I have a save stat before 4 of my guys move, I try to attack an enemy, they all miss, I load the state, have them all "Stay" instead of attacking. The enemy should get RNG screwed now, right? Wrooong. <_< Anyway, I was tired and pissed when I made this topic, so I was overreacting somewhat. Although I still refuse to believe the frequency of which I miss against weak enemies is legit. --- "If I don't live diligently, I can't die. So I will fight. Even if... | Level: 43 Editor | You know, surprisingly, I don't actually care if you consider me a "Pathetic Lackey" or not. Hopefully at some point you'll be able to "live up" to your rank, which, judging by your displays of unrivaled intelligence, is probably something like "Lowly Janitor at a Wendy's". --- "If I don't live diligently, I can't die. | Level: 7 Provisional | I was just saying if you chose not to play Diablo 2, which you eventually will. Besides, I've yet to work at Wendy's too busy working at GameStop, which is awesome by the way. --- You suck! -Crowd Your mother taught me how! -Kurt Angle |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | No, other way around. If the game is set to use up the RN regardless of whether you stay or attack, it works out. --- xp1337: Your former local puppet admin. "This is the light of my soul, a sacred territory upon which no one may intrude." - Kaworu, NGE. |
