| Level: 51 Juggernaut, bitch. | I wasn't going to do it until tomorrow, but I was sitting here bored and didn't feel like typing up anything for my blog or for here since I might have something planned for Wednesday anyway, so I went to get a non bricked system. I made out like a fucking bandit. Now, I have often times made fun of Best Buy. I usually can't stand the people that work there because they are either up your ass trying to help you when you are just wandering around, or they are never around when you have an actual question. Never even mind that they are constantly telling you that they do not work on comission. I could give a shit. I respect other people that work in retail. After having spent the better part of 4 years at the convenience store, and a year and a half now working at Gander Mountain, I feel for them. There is no harder job than having to deal with the dumbest parts of humanity. I walk in with my brick and my receipt, ready to pick a fight but not wanting to (the mantra of my life I suppose). I go to the counter and there's this girl who was working it that looked like she either needed a hard drink or a smoke. I tell her that I wanted to get a new one because my 360 was now better served to be a paperweight than a game system. She hands it off to a guy who was going to test it to make sure I wasn't bullshitting. He plugs it in and lo and behold, the 3 red lights of death. He asks me what happened, and I tell him that it got bricked. His eyes light up and he smirks. I talked with him a few minutes and asked how many others have been coming in lately, and he says "more than usual." Only affecting 2% of launch systems my ass. Mine was made June 24, 2006, and I had only had it two full months before death. So he says that I can grab a new one. I walk over there and the loaded model now comes with Need For Speed. I don't like racing games, but I'm up a game, so yay I guess. In the process of filling out and signing things, I also got a 20 dollar gift card. The best part I thought was that my warranty from the old unit carried over, so I didn't have to spend another 50, which I told her when she was going to check that if I had to, I didn't care since it was better than another 400 for a new system, and better than 140 which is what MS wanted to charge me to send it to them. So we're up a game, 20 gift card, I think that I got reward zone points for another 360, and free carry over warranty. It's still in the box now as I type this. I don't know if I want to try to go online with it until I see that the problem has been addressed. It might not be affecting very many systems compared to how many there are out there, but I am still worried. It's like...well, those cap games that Pepsi and Coke do. Y'ever stand there for a second trying to pick one that you think might have a cap for a free drink? Well that's what I was doing by the pile of 360s that were out on the floor. Only this time instead of hoping that I picked the rare one that has the pop, I hope I didn't. ~~ Burgess [Z?] http://blog.myspace.com/burgess51 I smell like smoke because I have walked through fire. |

| Level: 41 New Moderator | I remember a time when I bought a couple of Coke bottles - not all at once, mind you - and all of bottles had free drinks with it. ...Too bad I never redeem those things. ~"~ mAsTa AsIa: STi POWAAAAAAHHHHH!!! "You ready to step into the JUNGLE?!" |
