More "constructive criticism" for Zelda.

1. Whoever decided "hey, let's make it so if you have a full wallet, you can't open chests with rupees in them!" needs to be shot in the face. This is Zelda, the only time you'll have a wallet that ISN'T full is the first ten minutes of the game.

2. This is a goddamn NEXT GEN CONSOLE. You've had FOUR GENERATIONS to get a fucking camera to WORK. It CAN'T be that hard. It doesn't even need to be perfect, just make it so it DOESN'T GET STUCK IN THE BACK OF LINK'S HEAD, and I'm good.

3. The Ball and Chain Knight is a hacker. "lolz I'm gonna trap you in a corner and never use the move that makes me vulnerable so I'll just keep hitting you for 1 heart damage a pop for 2 minutes until you die. Fairy? lol I'll just do it again!" This is another problem that isn't forgivable, this enemy actually worked when used on the SNES. Unless the Wii is somehow LESS powerful than the SNES, this is just incompetence on the part of the developers/play testers.

4. The "heart appearance" rate fluctuated wildly for no apparent reason. Hearts are everywhere, EVERYWHERE, until they're not. Then they never appear again. And you have to back track to Kakariko Village so you can use the hot spring to heal.

5. "You can't change into your wolf form here! Someone will see you!" This is Zelda, not Animorphs. I don't care if anyone sees me.

But THEY don't know that!

I think you just suck at the Ball and Chain Knight.

You did notice the Clawshot things on the ceiling... right?

No, Ball and Chain Guy is the hardest enemy in the game (Though he still isn't -that- bad; Also, if you count the Cave of Trials, that's harder the B/C guy, but that's not a fair comparison). Even with the clawshot things, I found it more effective to engage him in a battle of attrition. I could afford to take more hits then he could. >_>

Like I said, he traps you in a corner and never uses a move that makes him vulnerable, thus, if you try to Clawshot, you just get smacked before you can get away from him.

Maybe you should have used the Clawshot before he trapped you, then

Seriously, he was really easy. <_<

No, if you use the Clawshot before he traps you, he just... (wait for it) ...turns around.

Also, I had exactly 1/4th of a heart and no fairies/soup/red potion/etc before the battle. That may have had something to do with it. Although I still had problems with full hearts.

I actually forget how I finally beat him... I think I used a bomb to blow myself out of the corner. <_<

Uh, yeah, he turns around. And then he throws the thing at you.

Even if he didn't, you just Clawshot over his head again.

Not that difficult. <_<

And he turns around again. See, you're making the assumption that he actually throws the ball. Which he doesn't. And contrary to what you seem to believe, you can't beat him by running away.

Then your game's messed up, or you're not doing it right, cause he does throw the ball. <_<

No, he doesn't. I remember spending the first three-quarters of that fight trying to find the throw trigger, before saying, "You know what? I have a fairy, and I'm pissed, let's see who falls first when we just charge him slashing."

I know you guys care what I think.

TP is an amazing game. Brilliant. One of the best games I've ever played.

Thus far, I had more fun with DBZBT2.

There's an important distinction to be made between "good" and "fun". Fun games aren't always good (see Shadow). Good games aren't always enjoyable (too tired to think of a good example).

Obviously, since the point of a game is to be fun, shouldn't the level of fun dictate how good a game is?

You'd think so. But consider for a moment "b-movies". These are not enjoyable because their parts are all high quality - the sum of the parts manages to be enjoyable, which is why people watch them.

Naturally, this scoring system gives an unfair advantage to enjoyable, but poorly made, games. Some of you may say, "If a game is bad, I don't want to play it. It'll encourage making more bad games".

In theory, yes. But we need to return to that "games are fun" thing. In an ideal world, all games would be both good _and_ fun. But this is not an ideal world, and if I have to choose between the two, I'll take fun over good 90% of the time.

...I should write an article about this sometime. Trust me, I could go on. I didn't even get into the whole "Does fun = enjoyable?" question, merits of gameplay v. story/music/graphics, and other such hot topics.
