Like, there's only a certain amount of happiness in the universe, so that when others are happy, I become sad.

Or something.

More realistically I'm probably comparing my life to theirs and not liking what I'm finding.

Now for a topic change, it's funny how much I try and deceive myself. On the way home from school I tried to come up with a plan to ask the girl I like out on Wednesday. To my credit, I caught myself when I realized, "And say what?" seeing as how ****ing social anxiety makes it so that I can barely function in most any social function, so it's not like I could go "Yeah, so, do you want to go ---, this weekend?"

I'm ignoring the fact that there's no way I could get this done in two days either, but that seemed to be the deeper problem.

...You know, I have no idea how we got to this topic, it's like I was writing the premise of an article in a post, when I totally didn't mean to. Damn mind, running off and doing its own thing and sidetracking my topic.

*Further angsting*

Then again, maybe my mood tanked because the concept of pep rallies in school is annoying as hell and killed my Study Hall period. So I had to sit in the gym... (Aha! Caught you, almost went on another sidetrack.)

...Yeah, I'm going to look back and read this topic later and think, "Why the hell am I talking to myself inside a topic?"

I believe that's called "envy". You know how to get around envy? Be an arrogant jackass. It works for me, it'll work for you. Alternatively, you could learn to appreciate what you have, although in most cases the only way to do that is to have more.

On the way home from school I tried to come up with a plan to ask the girl I like out on Wednesday.

If Wednesday is Valentine's Day (I'm not sure >___>), then this is a good plan, assuming she has no... valentine... and is not completely opposed to Valentine's Day as some sort of commercial brainwashing scheme. I'd imagine she'd be more likely to accept. On the flip side, she might just think it was a gimmick and she wouldn't appreciate the lengths you would be going to ask her someplace, so she might think you were just a lamer.

By the way, I need pics.now. of you. Just out of curiosity.

killed my Study Hall period.

assuming she has no... valentine...

That's the other thing. I don't know.

I don't think she does, but just the other day, I learned that someone who I thought was single was actually coming up on their 2 year anniversary. ...Or maybe I overheard wrong, but still. >_>

Well, if you're even considering doing anything, you should really find this out first. Rejection might be hard for you to handle; rejection because she's not single might be worse.

Trust me that was all part of the plan. See the plan was to not so subtly ask my friend who's friends with her. (You know, the one my paranoia says she likes, that guy) tomorrow.

There's like a 2% chance I'll do that, but we're talking hypothetically here.

I think I'm going to preemptively kill my plan by facing the fact that I'm critically stuck at places. ...There's like no where I can think to "ask her out" to. Before you guys chime in with suggestion, I'm going to head them off by saying I mean a place I'd be comfortable with.

That greatly complicates things.

Bah.

Easier said than done.

EDIT - A reply:

I'm going to head them off by saying I mean a place I'd be comfortable with. That greatly complicates things.

Ask her to your house for lunch of some sort, followed by a walk through your neighborhood. Or, if you don't live in a suburb, go to some park.

Surely you're comfortable with your own home.

The plan expectedly got a revision.

I might have been able to ask my friend (Friend B), until the last 5 minutes, when I followed him and her as they were having a conversation and generally got along well enough to make me question if my question of, "She isn't seeing anyone, is she?" would get a reply of, "Uh. Yeah. Me." or even if he didn't, it almost seems like they should.

While this was/is likely paranoia/rationalization, it's there. Now if my other friend (Friend A) was around, I could ask him without fear of that scenario, but he's in England for the week (2 weeks actually, but the second week is no school, so it wouldn't matter).

So yeah, the plan is now currently.

Phase 1: Wait for Friend A to come back from England.
Phase 2: Ask Friend A if he knows if she is currently seeing someone, and if he thinks Friend B likes her/she likes him (This is another critical question, I mean, there is a code, man - "Bros before... >_>")
Phase 3: Assuming everything is still on track, either then talk to Friend B to try and arrange something, or if this is unneeded, just skip to Phase 4.
Phase 4: Ask said girl out.

...Man, looking at it like that makes this seems way too complicated.

However, I -think- I'm committed to this plan, meaning, I think I'm serious about it, so I don't really feel too bad about myself for postponing things a bit. Now, time only tells if I actually follow through once my friend does get back.

Edit: Added mentions of who is Friend A and B in the story part so it might make a bit more sense. Kind of.

Bros before hoes? Do the guys you know seriously have enough honor and control over themselves to go by that "code"? I find it incredibly rare to find anyone like that.

xp, this is what your plan looks like to me:

3xz/y2 - Integral (((d(x^2y)/dx)(tan(y))(sin(x^(z^2)))(e^(e^2))) dx

Only without parenthesis.

...In other words, I think you're over-complicating things here. Essentially what you're planning to do is ask one of your friends (when he returns) if this girl is single and if your other friend likes her, and then if you get the right answers, you're going to ask her out. And you'll see if you can get your friends to help you if you need it.

Sometimes paragraphs are less complex than lists!

I believe xp is saying that he adheres to the code in question; i.e., he doesn't want to hit on his friend's "girl".

OMG 9 MONTH UPDATE

So yeah, the plan is now currently.

Phase 1: Wait for Friend A to come back from England.
Phase 2: Ask Friend A if he knows if she is currently seeing someone, and if he thinks Friend B likes her/she likes him (This is another critical question, I mean, there is a code, man - "Bros before... >_>")
Phase 3: Assuming everything is still on track, either then talk to Friend B to try and arrange something, or if this is unneeded, just skip to Phase 4.
Phase 4: Ask said girl out.

Phase 5: Tell Friend A I like her along with Phase 2
Phase 6: Wait a while.
Phase 7: Friend A is going out with her.

lolz

I don't care though, I only "liked" her as an infatuation, and found someone who I really do like, but still, totally asshatish because Friend A didn't know that last bit. >_>

Depemds, if we limit it to this situation. Loss, because Friend A was kind of an asshat for stealing the girl that for all he knew, I still liked, without so much as giving me [or anyone, actually, but like hell either of them could hide stuff from our leet perception, I actually had a hunch the day before they "went out", for the record] a heads up.

In reality, a push or gain on my part. Like I said, my "liking" her was childish, and I've found someone I really do like, so this was basically irrelevant to me. I have some annoyance every now and then that he wouldn't have warned me ahead of time, but it was a while ago, it's perfectly possible he forgot or something. Besides, it's not like saying "I like her" means "OMG CLAIM'D"
