| Level: 43 Editor | For the uninformed, it's a Korean monster movie about a giant killer mutant tadpole. ... GIANT KILLER MUTANT TADPOLES! *cue TMNT theme* ... Anyway. It was quite possibly the least scary horror movie I've ever seen. And I get freaked out by B-movies. I didn't go to see Snakes on a Plane because I thought it would be too scary. This, however, wasn't scary at all. I mean, the monster would have been almost cute if it weren't so hideous. However! It was also a lot better than the few American horror movies I've seen, mostly because it didn't rely on stupid "ZOMG MONSTER APPEARS SUDDENLY" moments to induce fright, but rather on a kind of gloomy ambiance that said "there's a killer tadpole on the loose and the government is screwing us faster than a two dollar whore". The US government in this movie, now THAT was scary. Though if I wanted to watch the news I could have stayed home and done it for free. Another thing I was pleased to find was character development, as opposed to the usual suspects - stupid white girl, black guy (who dies first), guy who doesn't believe in ghosts/zombies/whatever, etc - who all get killed off before they can have any character development beyond making the audience wonder how people that stupid lived to adulthood. For what it's worth, I'd almost classify the film as more of a serious drama than a horror or monster movie. Kenri's rating: 7/10 --- "There are times when destiny calls forth a people and demands an action. Now is the time. We are the people. This is our action. Charge!" ~Eladamri, Lord of Leaves |

| Level: 40 Special | Sounds like a fat pile of shite to me. Watch Event Horizon if you actually want to be horrified. It gave my mother nightmares, and I laughed my way through it. ~~~ Waitin' for the hammer to fall. |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I've been wanting to see it. Looks OK compared to some of the crap that's been released lately... It was quite possibly the least scary horror movie I've ever seen. Yeah... Generally when the movie promo has "THE SCARIEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!" in it, it's generally fucking LAME and NOT scary. Case in point: Cabin Fever. I remember some of the reviews for that movie, that was advertised in the promos for the radio... Truly scary movie!, Absolutely terrifying!, Scariest movie ever made!... I seen it a year ago (Only watched half of it because it was so STUPID) and it has me asking "What movie were these morons watching?" --- -Lurks- |
