If God is infinite, why can't the universe be infinite?
If you mean infinitely old, it's because then God couldn't have created the universe because it was always there to begin with (so either the universe is God or there's no need for a first cause). If you mean infinitely large, yeah, the ideas aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.
