3 forms. THREE ****ING FORMS, and there is NO save point in between. If you die on the last form, you don't even get a chance to continue/retry that current form. You go back to the first form. ARGH.
It's not even that the first two forms are HARD. They just take too much time. A serious run through just the first 2 forms can take over 25 minutes. Then the last form is another 10, assuming it doesn't kill you really quick.
Not to mention that the infinite Hypermode system is completely awful. The damage over time doesn't bother me too much, but being in Hypermode prevents the use of Hypermode. You'd think it wouldn't be a problem since you're already in Hypermode, but the only useful part of Hypermode is the 25 seconds of invincibility. Which you, obviously, don't get during Phaaze.
The worst part, though? If you shut off your system, you return to the beginning of Phaaze. WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY THINKING?! Would it have been so damn hard to throw in a SAVE POINT somewhere?!
Gah. Urge to kill... rising... >_<

I consider this one of the bigger accomplishments of my gaming career. Even though most of Hyper difficulty was pretty easy.
