...and I've found quite a few things which could count as gems, provided the correct amount of leeway is applied to the definition of the term.

Here's something from January 9th, 2005:
Well, my original intention was to leave everything and spend some time working on a faction system complete with monsters and whatnot, which I had started prior to my departure but realized I was too busy wasting time to work on it. After two days of actual work, I worked up the skeleton of the program - which was good - only to have it fail due to several unidentifiable errors - which was bad. So, I scrapped the crap, and went to work on the following articles, all under Wednesday:

[Here I have some notes written about some school-oriented concerns, both of which I vaguely remember, and am unable to match against any of the unfinished articles I managed to save.]

And now, for some more explanation. I never intended to say I'd leave forever; the opportunity came up when Epsilon asked. As noted above, my original intent was to work on factions, work which I'd started a week earlier and gotten nowhere. The idea to leave temporarily was influenced by my argument with xp on the YSB, after which I realized I had become far too consumed by the Internet, and the people I'd met within it. Once I did return, I expected to surprise everyone with factions - but this will have to do. We've come a long way anyway from my original premise - daily updates by seven different authors, each of a different genre. Its best we return to our roots as much as we can.

Also, for those of you wondering, if I have the money - which I currently don't - I will pay hosting come April. If not, Epsilon says hell foot the bill. Also, we might move elsewhere if we can get a better deal. The Flux will remain for as long as I've got interest in it.

And that'll be a while.
There exists the possibility that I actually posted this, but it's doubtful. The references to a faction system with "monsters" are of course references to the pre-pre-alpha edition of Summoner's Seal, the code for which was so worthless I never bothered to save it. The remaining subject matter refers to a cloudy part of my memory: i.e., all of that year.

So do I. So do I.

I'm always causing trouble. =(

I don't remember that argument, but I think it was caused by our mutual teenagerness.
