| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Figured I'd make a topic about it. Combat is pretty good once you get used to it. I found that the Assault Rifle was pretty sucky at the beginning. I pretty much used the Pistol through the start, until I got better Assault Rifles, and weapon Mods (Like the stability one - That one helps A LOT). Definitely my favorite character has to be Tali. Least favorite would be Kaidan. He's pretty good in combat (Until you get Liara), but I just hate his charatcer >_>; <-> Common sense these days is about as common as Gold being hidden inside your ass. - Me. | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Really? Now I'm on my -third- playthrough (which will probably go a bit slower, I especially dread planet hopping for sidequests now, it was already boring me last time), on Insanity Mode this time, and the Assault Rifle let me just raze Eden Prime, it's almost like God Mode. Then again, I have the advantage of being a Soldier with Lift, and that makes a big difference. As for characters, I'd go: Garrus > Wrex > Tali > Liara > Kaidan > Ashley Big drop off between Tali and Liara. However, Liara is awesome in combat, her character though, while better than the humans, pales before the other 3. --- "What is the greatest threat facing us now? People will say its terrorism. But are there any terrorists in the world who can change the American way of life or our political system? No. Can they knock down a building? Yes. Can they kill somebody? Yes. But can they change us? No. Only we can change ourselves. So what is the great threat we are facing? - Colin Powell Message last edited by xp1337 on 12/31/2007 at 05:29:18 PM |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I've been using Tali for most of the game. ...Scratch that. I've been using her CONSTANTLY since I got her. While I like Garrus as a character, I find Wrex/Liara/Kaidan more useful, because of their Biotic powers. Lift (I think?) is so fucking imba, it's not funny. Garru's Tech powers are useful, but if you got Tali around, not really needed. And wtf. Why does everyone hate Ashley? She may not be as good as the others, but she's DAMN deadly with the assault rifle. The one that is gonna bug me about playing this game over... You can't go solo. That's essentially my favorite thing in RPGs like this. One of my biggest draws to games like Final Fantasy XII and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II (Never played KOTORI) was the fact you can go solo. <-> Common sense these days is about as common as Gold being hidden inside your ass. - Me. | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Oh, you meant combat-wise, I was ranking by character. Combat... Garrus > Liara > Wrex > Kaidan > Ashley > Tali Biotics pwn. Garrus ranks ahead because maybe it was just me, but he was a ****ing tank in hardcore, I could send him into buildings he could almost solo clear them. Ashley couldn't do that even on Normal. >_> As a forewarning though, I've only really -really- seen Ashley, Liara, and Garrus out in their prime. I've played with the others, but not even close to those three. This run I'm probably going with Ashley/Kaidan, because I'm taking Ashley despite being a soldier for lol rp, and so Kaidan needs to make up for the Biotic and Tech gaps. Although, since my character knows throw, maybe there is no biotic gap. >_> Could also be that Garrus was with me on the second playthrough so I knew better where to place points and upgrades. And yes, Lift is ridiculous. Which is why my current character is ridiculous. Soldier with Lift, think about it. Lift Mastery = lol pwn. Vanguard became ridiculously overpowered towards th end too. Lift - Throw - Adrenaline Boost - Lift - Throw, all with Garrus and I laying down weapons fire, and Liara adding her own Lift, Singularity, and Throws in. --- "What is the greatest threat facing us now? People will say its terrorism. But are there any terrorists in the world who can change the American way of life or our political system? No. Can they knock down a building? Yes. | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | No, it isn't. I'm sure of it. Preaching Hanar is over by the Wards Access part of the Presidium. The hanar I'm talking about sells to you. --- "What is the greatest threat facing us now? People will say its terrorism. | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Started playing again, finished my old file then started a new game on Hardcore. Normally I don't enjoy games on their second-highest or highest difficulty, but DAMN! I'm having a blast playing this on Hardcore. The only other game where I've enjoyed either of the highest difficulties, was the first Halo. Playing a Renegade character, as a Sentinal class this time. Just got done killing Fist. That Renegade Dialog option when you get into the warehouse was just XD Sheppard: "I just killed 50 bodyguards back there, what do you think I'm going to do to you?" Worker: "Screw this, Fist doesn't pay us enough for this." Garrus: "...I never would've thought of doing that." Incidentally, I found the merchant Hanar in Citidal. <-> Common sense these days is about as common as Gold being hidden inside your ass. - Me. Stupidity is more common than common sense -Me. | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Okay. I changed my mind. I just completed Feros on Hardcore, and it was AWESOME. God damn, that was just FUN. Over-all, it was fun. I did die several times doing the Tunnels sequence of side quests, I fucking hate the Krogans >_>; Totally not looking forward to Virmire in that regard. >_< <-> Common sense these days is about as common as Gold being hidden inside your ass. - Me. | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Haven't played ME in a while, but yeah... Krogans = Annoying unless you have something like lift or throw to keep them away, and even then... --- "What is the greatest threat facing us now? People will say its terrorism. | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I hate when those fuckers charge though. It's like, "LAWL, I SMASH U IN FACE,U DIE INSTANTLY LOLOLOLOL" Yet, if you try that, you don't do any damage... >_> To ANYTHING. Though, it is good for knocking shit down. | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Welp. Just completed my second play-through. Hardcore this time, as a Sentinal. And I have to say that.... Despite this being the MOST FUCKING EXPENSIVE game (Spent 70 bucks on it >_>) I have EVER purchased... It was WELL WORTH every fucking cent of it. <-> Common sense these days is about as common as Gold being hidden inside your ass. - Me. Stupidity is more common than common sense -Me. | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | LOL This is so damn imba, it's fucking hilarious. Doing another play-through of ME, with my Sentinel/Bastion(AR bonus feat), to get the level 50 and 60 Achievements. I stuck TWO 'Frictionless Materials IX' in my characters assault rifle (HMWAVII), and now I can fire my weapon forever without over-heat XD <-> Common sense these days is about as common as Gold being hidden inside your ass. - Me.
