Summary: An Icelandic bank fails, so about 300,000 UK depositors lose all their money. The UK wants these people to be compensated in some way, but they don't want to do it themselves, so they're threatening to freeze the assets of Icelandic companies operating in the UK until Iceland's government ponies up the money. It makes perfect sense, in that gangsta rap music video sort of way.
