| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I haven't completely updated yet, as in updated past the initial update into NXE, but what's available so far is great. Shitty internet ftl. I LOVE the fact you can now disable Auto-Run now. That pissed me off before. >_> Installing is great as well. Really cuts down on those pesky load times. Seriously fast now. As an example, it used to take about 2 minutes to load into a garden on Viva Pinata. Now it takes about 20 seconds to go from start, to a Garden. <-> Violence is like duct tape; it fixes everything. |

| Level: 51 Juggernaut, bitch. | I downloaded it. I played L4D for a while. I waited for a map to load. It froze. I restarted. RRoD. One month after warranty. I knew it was going to do it. I just knew it. I sat there saying "if I update, this thing is fucked." But I was goaded into doing it by some people. Yay for peer pressure >_> However, apparently my 360 is in fact a zombie now, because it died and reanimated itself. I didn't touch it for a whole day, and just said fuck it and flipped it on for shits and giggles. It lives again. ~~ Burgess [Z?] http://blog.myspace.com/burgess51 I smell like smoke because I have walked through fire. |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | XD Launch 360? I've been hearing a LOT of problems with that happening and the Launch 360s and the new NXE update... Because the warranty for ALL RRODs was increased from 1 year to 3 years. And. Yeah. I've heard of that as well. Sometimes the RROD doesn't completely kill it, and it will continue to live for a little while, before completely dying. <-> Violence is like duct tape; it fixes everything. |

| Level: 51 Juggernaut, bitch. | Nope. Not a launch 360, at least that I know of. Actually it's my 3rd 360. First one died uh...when Gears 1 came out with the real big November update that they did. That one went 3 light. Second one died just before the Halo 3 beta (I had actually gotten an email to where I could have gotten into the beta like a week early because my name was picked at random or some shit). That one went full circle which means that it decided it no longer wanted to detect the A/V cable. When I bought the first one I had been hearing all the problems that they were having and how MS was being a bitch, so I got a two-year powerbomb insurance warranty from Best Buy. I wanted to do that since when they fucked up, I just throw it back in the box, grab the receipt, go to BB, have some geek squad guy hook it up and go 'yeah it's fucked,' grab a new one, switch out the hard drives since I wanted to keep mine, and off I go. That was in October of '06. So of course in November of '08, this thing decides to die, and then wise fwom it's gwave. If it dies again, I could just go get an arcade one (well...when I can afford one anyway), but I want to get a larger hard drive anyway since you can download games to make them faster now, probably just get an elite. And the thing that REALLY pisses me off is that I can go back home, dig in my closet, and turn on my Nintendo which is older than just about everyone here with no problems. WTF MS, WTF. ~~ Burgess [Z?] http://blog.myspace.com/burgess51 I smell like smoke because I have walked through fire. Message last edited by Burgess on 11/22/2008 at 08:33:56 PM |

| Level: 37 Advanced | If you RRoD'd, and it wasn't a launch 360, wouldn't it still be covered by the 3-year warranty? (since launch 360s only expired today). --- SIEG ZEON! http://luigi87.deviantart.com/ |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Yeah, dude. You're still covered under Microsoft if you bought it in 2006. Just call Microsoft, and they'll fix it. I believe the number is 1-800-4MY-XBOX They'll send you a box and everything. MAKE SURE YOU *DO NOT* PUT YOUR FACEPLATE OR HARDDRIVE IN THE BOX. You won't get those back. <-> Violence is like duct tape; it fixes everything. |
