Not sure if anyone else is interested in it (or A Song of Ice and Fire in general), but it does start tonight on HBO at 9 PM (Eastern, at least, not sure about other time zones)

I've heard a lot of good things about it regarding the previews and such, but I'm not really sure what to expect from it. Though, it may be for the best if I don't go in with extremely high expectations or anything. I'll definitely check it out though to see how it is.

NO SPOILERS IN DIS POST

According to The AV Club, each episode dramatizes a few chapters and consequently there isn't really a coherent, episodic story, but, to paraphrase those guys, each episode feels like part of a long movie. So apart from the insane production values and acting quality, the pilot doesn't necessarily indicate the welldoneness of the show for the future.

I meant to come back to this topic a lot earlier, but lol.

So far the series has been great. One of my favorites, though admittedly I do not watch a lot of series. I think my favorite aspect of the show is seeing some conversations and scenes that just couldn't happen in the books due to how it is structured (through PoV characters, so say if no PoV character is around to witness something, you can never "see" it in the book.)

The best example of this for me is the conversation between Littlefinger and Varys in Episode 5, which is also definitely my favorite scene in the show so far (through 5 episodes). It's a conversation you could never see in the books because neither is a PoV character, and it's just awesome. Of course, Littlefinger is my favorite character in the series, so practically any scene with Littlefinger is one I'll enjoy!

So with today's episode that's 6? I should start watching this.

Yeah, today's episode was Episode 6.

A warning though, if you haven't read the books, things might be a little tough to follow at first. I don't mind trying to help clarify details if anyone wants, but you may want to keep that in mind.

I haven't read the books, so I will most likely be confused. But I guess it was written with all demographics in mind? I assume things are explained as you go along.

Yeah, as long as you can keep track of who is who, you shouldn't have that much trouble.

Me and my father watch the show. It's awesome.

I admit it's hard to keep up with some of the names and family relations, but lots of the show so far just seems so good with the writing and acting. This week's episode cinched it.
