Also, that technically wasn't the only time TFN got (not really) "hacked." There was the time that someone got into Burgess's account and tried to replace the front page with some... images...
Which was quickly remedied when I demodded Burgess until we figured out what was going on, and realized that the "hacking" was just changing the poll (which made sense because IIRC, Burgess was only a Lead Mod at the time time, and there's only so much they could actually do). And all I had to do was change the current poll to something else.

...Was it? I thought it wasn't down very long at all. It was just we lost every post made in the last month because we had to reset to the last time everything was archived.
Well, that too, but I took the site down for a week. That's why the article I wrote when I put it back up is called "Welcome back".

No, I'm actually sure of this one. Someone got into Burgess's account and did this. IIRC, Burgess later confirmed it and said we could keep him demoted however long we wanted (which I don't think was very long, basically just until we fixed everything and figured out what happened).

This must have been a long time ago then because now that he's level 51 he can't be demoted. That's how level 51 is coded. It's the super secret level, you see.
Also, I see the ToS says we'll contact ISPs if you turn out to be a total jerk. Ha-ha! That's never going to happen.
