Also, apparently this question is impossible for them to figure out:
This song is often compared to the mid-20th century novel The Stranger, written by the French Algerian Albert Camus. The Stranger tells the story of a nihilistic young man who, in the climax of the story, shoots someone on impulse and is then executed after a trial in which he was only marginally interested. While waiting for his execution, he suddenly reaches an epiphany. What are some lyrics from Bohemian Rhapsody that invite this comparison?

Eh, I'll admit I was taken aback by how difficult this assignment was for them, but the majority of them are freshmen that have been in an English-speaking environment for less than a month, and this is apparently not the sort of thing they did in their native educational systems. So it's understandable.

I asked them to look up some public policy they're interested for an oral presentation and a number of them came and told me they weren't allowed to talk about public policy in China so they don't know where to start. Lots of new experiences!
