| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | On one hand, I feel like it shouldn't be because sure, ~6 years or so might be enough to make it obsolete but it's been acting up with increasing frequency and that makes me sad. =( There's no real point to this topic other than me being sad about this. Uh... but it could. Like everyone should go play Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky if you haven't already. And then join me in my sadness that SC is not released here. =( --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Just a bunch of bizarre things like freezing or lag/performance issues or randomly deciding it isn't connected to the internet among other things. I've had a number of theories about the cause but I'm starting to think it's just deteriorating in general. I'm not 100% positive about it but I'm thinking it's looking increasingly likely. I mean, obviously it's functional enough for me to use it now, and I imagine it could remain usable for quite some time, but I think it's starting to go downhill. Which makes me sad. =( --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | But really this is less about my computer and more about Trails in the Sky being great and augh SC isn't localized and if it is eventually the chances of it getting a UMD release is just so, so horrifically low because lol PSP releases now. And that's just terrible! --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Hard drive is failing. Back up your shit ASAP. I had the same thing happen to me with my old computer 2 years ago. <-> "What the fuck is Alice doing in Wonderland anyway? | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Yeah, hard drive was my thought as well (eventually, after I finished ruling other stuff out). I already backed up everything I think I'd miss if it should fail abruptly so I think I'm okay on that count. Hopefully it holds out a bit longer though. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Hard drives aren't too expensive. You could probably find one on the cheap end. <-> "What the fuck is Alice doing in Wonderland anyway? | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | It could also be the motherboard. My previous laptop's motherboard essentially melted because the GPU's cooling system didn't work properly (thank you, HP!). The wifi card died before the laptop did. ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Ugh, I suppose that could be possible too. There was an issue with the fan recently but I was hoping it was unrelated (and also solved.) (tl;dr version: Inexplicably the fan would run much faster/louder than it normally would on occasion. Ultimately I'm hoping the problem was "fixed" by getting rid of any dust, etc. that might have built up inside and since that was done it hasn't acted up) So yeah, like I said, my computer has been making me sad recently. =( --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | I mean, I still think the hard drive is the most likely cause but I can't really rule that possibility out either. =/ --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |
