| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | So. Since GameFAQs updated to V13, I encountered a bug using my DSi XL, and reported it.![]() What a delightfully crafted, well informed response! /sarcasm <-> "What the fuck is Alice doing in Wonderland anyway? | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Even TFN's administrative team would give a slightly longer and more wordy 'we have no fucking idea' response than that. We've finally succeeded at doing something more lazily than GameFAQs! Go team! +++ "Enough is enough! | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Eh. PM Date: 25/4/2013 3:54:34 GMT | To: Kodan That's great, because I sure don't. PM Date: 24/4/2013 7:45:03 GMT | To: Kodan Thanks for pointing that out. When I was writing the incredibly inelegant privacy hack, I forgot to add it to genmessage.php as well as gentopic.php. PM Date: 2/11/2012 15:27:36 GMT | To: Kodan Then it must be the sorcery. I knew it was worth it to eat all those Cracker Jacks! PM Date: 1/11/2012 17:49:05 GMT | To: Kodan My assumption is that it was cached and/or I AM A SORCERER, I HAVE ABSORBED YOUR INTERNET'S SOUL AND WILL USE IT TO GENERATE MORE TRAFFIC PM Date: 12/10/2012 14:06:50 GMT | To: Kodan I know, and I don't know why. My working hypothesis is that TFN is haunted. My working alternative hypothesis is that I am bad at computers. PM Date: 12/10/2012 10:01:31 GMT | To: Kodan If I recall correctly, the poll system itself has a timer (though it only changes when I log in). Every time it changes, the timer is reset, but that's the only time that happens. So if Poll A runs for a month, it should change as soon as someone adds another poll to the queue and I log in. PM Date: 7/10/2012 19:54:20 GMT | To: Kodan Also to be honest I forgot how the whole queue system works so if I wanted to change it manually that would be a lot of work. Also I'm allergic to work. PM Date: 7/10/2012 18:42:53 GMT | To: Kodan It's supposed to change by itself - there's no option to change it manually except by going through the database, which is lame. ___ ~ Ogordemir ~ "The sciences have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." ~ H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Relevant to the thread: I sent in feedback myself regarding a critic review that is linked to on GameFAQs that is completely inaccurate and full of absolute horseshit that isn't even true. This is what I got back from Feedback: Message From GameFAQs on 06/10/2013 We can't fix their site, and the reviews are part of GameRankings' system, not ours. ... I never asked them to fix CheatCC because it's an unfixable piece of crap of a website and I fail to see how the link can't be removed from the Review page at GameFAQs itself regardless of them taking reviews from GameRankings. It really is fucking laziness in the feedback system. +++ "Enough is enough! I have had it with these monkey-fighting snakes on this Monday-to-Friday plane!" - TV Edited Snakes on a Plane |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | what the The reason non-DSBers and non-MBAers can't access those boards is I made a little field in the users table that says "DSB yes/no" or "MBA yes/no" and then I check those fields on gentopic.php and genmessage.php when the appropriate board getdata is sent. Like a boss. I never asked them to fix CheatCC because it's an unfixable piece of crap of a website and I fail to see how the link can't be removed from the Review page at GameFAQs itself regardless of them taking reviews from GameRankings. It's possible that the links are culled automatically by the system, in which case you'd have to go into the code to add a special exception and nobody's going to do that.

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Ah. I see. It was just MBA? Because I feel like years ago I tried to enter the DSB that way (just to see if I could) and failed, but I could be remembering incorrectly. Another totally unrelated question. Every now and then TFN likes to refuse to load/load really slowly (sometimes the "script processed" timer at the bottom will be around/over 10 seconds). Is that a "just me" thing or is it happening to everyone? Used to think it was the latter because my computer was probably dying, but now I have a new one and it was doing it a bit before (though I think it's seemed better recently). Just trying to figure out if the problem is my end (I'd believe it) or something we're all experiencing. I usually use GameFAQs as a sanity check to see if it's loading any slower too, but I figured I'd ask. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

| Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | It's possible that the links are culled automatically by the system, in which case you'd have to go into the code to add a special exception and nobody's going to do that. Well, yeah. That's possible too. My main issue with the feedback is the way the response just acted like I was retarded and asking them to do something about that site when it completely wasn't. I was actually more so just asking if anything could be done about removing it and the second half of the feedback without the first or even in a more explanatory fashion would have sufficed. Oh wait, I forgot it's GameFAQs 2013. I guess I was being the unreasonable one with that expectation. My bad. Another totally unrelated question. I got it right the first time when I made the DSB private, but I had forgotten about that when I made the MBA. Another totally unrelated question. I usually use GameFAQs as a sanity check to see if it's loading any slower too, but I figured I'd ask. This happens to be me, but my log-in also triggers the cron hack that makes all poll queue, karma, etc. work correctly, and that involves fetching and processing a ton of records. Time-consuming stuff. This should only be happening for me, though. Do you ever get any errors at the top of the screen while the page is loading? (One of the cron files has some issues that don't matter and aren't worth fixing, but whenever it loads it spits out a couple of SQL errors.) It could also just be 1&1 being terrible. Oh wait, I forgot it's GameFAQs 2013. I guess I was being the unreasonable one with that expectation. My bad. Wait, there was a year where GameFAQs didn't suck at customer service? | Level: 49 Liberal Arts Major | Wait, there was a year where GameFAQs didn't suck at customer service? It's absolutely shocking, but believe it or not there actually was. There actually was a time where I was able to get feedback issues handled properly, it was in the majestic fantasy era of 2006. I'm even pretty sure I saw a Unicorn. This one is probably 1&1's fault. Numbers are always to blame, somehow. +++ "Enough is enough! I have had it with these monkey-fighting snakes on this Monday-to-Friday plane!" - TV Edited Snakes on a Plane |
