As in, early tomorrow. Already-said-our-goodbyes tomorrow.

I've had friends move away before of course, but not such a good friend, so far away, and in my adult life. My life up til this point has left me completely unprepared for how to act right now.

Fuckin' sucks.

Sorry, The Blog Network and all, I know. Just had to get it off my chest.

Having had one of my best friends (Tiger!) move away for college, I am familiar with this. My advice to you is actually not to make unusual efforts to visit each other, since even if you do, there's still a very high probability you'll grow apart over time.

Don't worry, we still (may) love you, Ogor!

Fuck, man. You're probably right but that's still exactly the thing I didn't want to hear.

Better to hear it now than to figure it out when he gets married and you're not even in the wedding party.

Is it really even possible with the internet? Keep in touch via e-mail, or facebook or something.

Well, I can share a success story to go with my failure story. I had a friend in kindergarten who moved away in first grade. I knew her for about a year. We became pen pals and have remained pen pals since, exchanging 2-4 letters a year. In the past year we've seen each other three times (since she recently moved to Arizona from Minnesota) and our friendship has never been stronger.

Anything is possible!

Well, I'm not really in a position to offer any credible advice at all so you can just ignore me, but I think somewhere between Ogor and Kodan sounds about right here. It's a lot easier to keep in touch with the internet but I don't know if that'd be quite the same.

I've lost so many internet friends over the years it's ridiculous :(

Scorp, and another person I have on AIM are the only ones still around that I've known longer than 5 years.

...Well. Not including you guys I guess?

Wow. I sound like an asshole.

I guess I should say people I've talked to personally on instant messengers.

The internet is a relatively poor way to keep in touch, in my experience. It's too impersonal.

I appreciate the advice, I really do, but honestly I wasn't looking for it. It's just... man. You spend like every waking minute of your life for the last few months with someone and then suddenly they're just gone. I needed to vent about it somewhere.
