Let's Read Reviews! Prince Roy's Sonic Adventure 2: Battle review (S1R9)
Here we are again. Another week, another Let's Read. What wonderful review will unfold next? I'll tell you. GameFAQs user Prince Roy's Sonic Adventure 2: Battle review.
Title: A good game, but still, a ripoff from Dreamcast
Or, for people who don't care about console wars, a "port".
Well, first off, it was a takeoff from Sonic Adventure 2, for the Sega Dreamcast.
It is reassuring to know that gamers of seven years ago were just as stupid about this as gamers of today.
2 Player is MUCH better, but since there's no one to play with, and 1 Player isn't improved at all except cooler graphics, I had to give it a 7.
Hey, with logic like this, you could be a professional reviewer. "This is the same game but better. Lower score go!"
Here's why.
Please be a sectioned review, please be a sectioned review...
Challenge: 3-9/10
Yesssssss!
Also, that is a highly variable score.
If you are a vet at Sonic Adventure 2, you will not find this game challenging what so ever.

It is the same, but the controls could take a while to get used to.
Wouldn't be a 3D Sonic game if they didn't!
If you are new to Sonic Adventure 2, you might find this game pretty difficult.
Okay, good. I was worried this whole review would be written for people who have already played the game in question.
The game revolves around 3 main levels of gameplay: Shooting, High Speed, and Treasure Hunting.
I question your terminology, but go on.
Personally, the Treasure Hunting levels, done by Knuckles and Rouge are aggrovating,
They draw aggro from the player towards the controller. Via the nearest wall.
but they are the easiest, but usually most time-consuming.
...You will be collecting emeralds, and shards of emeralds, and sometimes keys, and the level with keys is harder, but the mission 5 versions of the levels are sometimes easier, except on later levels, when they are harder, but overall, these levels aren't great, but some of them are fun, but they're usually not as fun as the other types of levels, but sometimes they are.
The high speed ones are done by Sonic and Shadow, and they are high-speed action levels.
This review brought to you by the Department of Redundancy Department! DRD - we provide an unnecessary service that is unnecessary and a service!
It's running past Mach 3 speeds!
That's nearly three times the running speed of an ordinary hedgehog!
These can be hard to do from speed.
I hope my body can take it!
And last, the medium ones are Tails and Dr. Eggman's Shooting stages.
(They're medium because they're definitely not rare or well-done.)
In their robots, they command many guns and missiles.
How else will their enemies get a load of-get a load of-get a load of this?
Besides, you know what they say, the more the merrier.
Starfox, Galaga, or jsut plain shooting game fans will like these.
Those games are very similar because you shoot things.
Despite being completely separate genres and playing totally differently.
Yeah.
Music: 8/10
Crush: 40/10
Still, although it is still identical to that of Sonic Adventure 2, it is still cool, and has a little more soul in them.
It's a port. Do you really expect the music to be different? Really?
For instance, Radical Highway. The original was just a few notes and a few drums in the background. Now there's a couple more instruments added.
...Once was a subtle beat but now it's a rhythm ride?
Oh god, I can't believe I just said that.
Also, the interacting sounds are more realistic, and the voices are that of the voice actors, just about a year older.
I choose to take it on faith that he's correct about this, so that I can make a snippy comment like "that's usually what happens when there's about a year between games!"
Replay: 6/10 Well, you still can Select a stage you've cleared to keep playing on, different missions or choosing a completed one, but you can't redo bosses until you completely beat the game on a certain story, Hero or Dark. Basically, for 1 Player, you can play SA2 for the same experience.
I am so glad there was a whole section just for that, and yet no section for story or multiplayer or anything.
So very glad.
Graphics: 9/10 One of the main things improved over SA2, it's much more realistic,
Realism mixed with anthropomorphic hedgehogs: what could possibly go wrong?
like shadows on the ground below objects suspended in the air, and alike things.
Honestly, I have no idea what "alike things" could mean in this context.
Also, there are changes in City Escape, but they might be spoilers.
...It's the first level! What could you possibly spoil?! "Spoiler alert: At the end of City Escape, you escape from the city."
I will tell, that it doesn't advertise Phantasy Star games, but Nintendo or Sonic related things, like the GCN, GBA, Sonic merchandise, you get the idea.
Jesus Christ, man! Mark your spoilers! You just ruined the in-game advertisements for me!
All in all, great in graphics.
Thanks to all the improvements, such as things which are alike shadows.
Rent or Buy: Rent, if you've never played Sonic games, Buy if you have.
Translation: Sonic fans should know what they're getting, and I'm incapable of describing it for anyone else.
Forget it if you never have a partner to play against, and just play the Dreamcast version.
...But this version is better, by your own admission.
Overall Score: 7/10 The game was great, and woulda gotten a 10 if it had many more details, to add on.
It's a port. This game could not be any more of a port if it had seagulls and ships trying to dock at it.
I know it was not at it's max in memory space.

Also, you need the Game Boy Advance, Sonic Advance, and a GCN-GBA cable to raise Chao effectively.
That's how you're choosing to end your review.
Really.
With a comment that would make no sense if I didn't have prior knowledge about the series.
Okay then!
Overall, I give this review a 0-10/10 because if you are a vet to reviews, this one won't be hard at all to read.
