II: Accident
After a bit of a delay, we finally reached the airport; I grabbed my bags real quickly, and ran towards the terminal, dropping off my bags at the designated spot along the way.
"Geesh, Keigo! Slow down, I can't keep up!" Keika was trailing behind, carrying a bag behind her that was almost as big as her; she finally dropped off the bag, and ran up to my side.
"Your fault, Keika. By the way, where's Tsuki?"
"Oh, she said she had to use the bathroom real quick."
"She needs to hurry-"
I wasn't able to finish my sentence, as I was tackled to the ground, my face covered by a pair of hands.
"Guess who?"
I sighed to myself, before I realized who it was.
"Wait a minute...Asuka? What are you doing here?"
"I had a change of plans! Aren't you just so glad, Keigo?"
She jumped off me, and I got up. As soon as I did, Tsuki came out of the bathroom and ran over to Asuka.
"Asuka! I thought you said-"
"Plans change! Anyways, are we ready to go? I already bought my own ticket."
Asuka was Tsuki older sister by about 4 years; she was always a really flirty type; however, she never went back on something that she said to her sister. Something must have happened; just as I was about to ask, a voice came over the intercom;
"Flight 223, to Asuya Mountain Range is now boarding. I repeat..."
"Alright, that's our flight!" Tsuki jumped in the air, and grabbed my arm. Asuka grabbed my other arm, and I was dragged into the plane by the two of them, Keika following behind the three of us.
The plane ride itself was relatively uneventful; this was mostly due to the fact that I was asleep for almost all of it. After about 3 hours, we finally arrived at the Asuya Mountains. We finally got off the plane with everybody else, and started walking towards the terminal.
"It's so cold out here..." Asuka wrapped her arms around my neck as I was walking. Tsuki just laughed, and Keika didn't seem to pay any attention; she was distracted by a beautiful ice sculpture just in front of the door that people walked under.
"Wow! It's so beautiful!" She looked up and down at it for a couple of seconds before finally running inside.
As soon as we got inside, we heard a booming voice;
"We have an announcement for the Takase party; your escort to your vacation house is here. I repeat..."
"Weird, we didn't ask for an escort, did we Keigo?"
I nodded slowly, and made my way down to the first floor; next to the stairs that we walked down was a girl in a maid's outfit, holding up a sign that said "TAKASE" in large letters. I walked over to her, and she smiled.
"Hello, Keigo. I see you brought the rest of your family."
"I didn't expect you to meet us at the airport, Hani. It's been a while, hasn't it?"
"Not that long. Why'd you decide to come pick us up? We can walk, ya know."
"I know, but I was out doing some errands, and I remembered that you were coming here. So, I decided I would meet you here!"
"Yay! Hani!" Keika ran up to Hani, and gave her a hug.
"Keika! How are you!"
Hani was a little older than 30, now; but she didn't look a day over 20. She was always in incredible shape, and was one of the nicest people you could've met. She always took care of us when we would go to the vacation house, and I was looking forward to being able to catch up with her.
"Okay guys, let's go. It's going to get dark out soon."
We all piled into Hani's car; just as she said, 10 minutes later, it became very dark. Not only that, but it also began to snow very heavily.
"It's so hard to see!" Hani sighed heavily. We all looked at each other.
"Are we going to be alright, Keigo?"
Before I was able to answer her question; the car rocked violently; and we stopped.
"What was that?" I got out of the car, along with everyone else.
"Oh, no..." Hani shook her head. We had run into a tree; the snow had obscured it from our view.
"We have to walk now? In this?" Asuka put her coat on, and grabbed my arm. "You can safely escort me, right?"
I sighed; I noticed that Tsuki was blushing a little bit, but I ignored it, thinking it was her usual moody self.
---
A few hours had passed, and it didn't look like we were getting any closer.
"I'm so tired..." Tsuki sighed, and sat down in the snow. I followed her lead; I had been carring Keika, who passed out a little while ago, since then; I too, was tired, and I was having a hard time walking. Everyone else followed my lead, finding a tree to sit under that stopped the snow from falling on them. I sighed.
"It's so cold out here!" Asuka wimpered for a little bit. Just as she finished her sentence, she fell to the ground; she must have passed out as well. However, Tsuki did the exact same thing; finally, Hani dropped to the ground, leaving only me awake.
"Keigo, I've finally found you...I've been waiting so long...I can finally be with you, just us..."
I looked around; it couldn't have been any of them, as they were all still unconscious. For a minute, all I heard was the wind. Then, suddenly,I heard that voice again.
"Keigo...I love you so much..."
It was a soft and gentle voice, unlike any I had ever heard before. It was almost like that of a goddess's; I found myself mesmerized by the sound of her voice.
"Who's there!?" I stood up. Just as I did, the snow stopped. Tsuki shook her head for a minute, and got up.
"Weird, I must've fainted for a minute..."
Almost in unison, everyone else stood up. Just then, we saw a light ahead of us; then, the sillouhette of a house emerged just beyond the hill we were climbing.
"It's the vacation house!" Keika jumped up, suddenly invigorated, and ran towards the house. Everyone else followed her lead; we had finally arrived at the vacation house, after a lot of walking.
But...who was that back there? It was definitely a girl's voice...but who was it? I pondered this to myself for a little bit, before Tsuki's voice snapped me back into reality.
"Hey! Hey, Keigo! Let's go inside, before we freeze to death!"
I smiled, and walked towards her.
"Yeah."
